Objectives. Extra radicular diffusion of hydrogen peroxide associated with intracoronal teeth bleaching was evaluated.Methods. 108 intact single rooted extracted mandibular first premolars teeth were selected. The teeth were instrumented with WaveOne system and obturated with gutta percha and divided into four groups (n=27) according to the bleaching materials used. Each main group was divided into three subgroups (n=9) according to the time of extra radicular hydrogen peroxide diffusion measurements at 1, 7, and 14 days: group 1 (35% hydrogen peroxide), group 2 (35% carbamide peroxide), group

Protrusion can occur after correction of the anterior crossbite in Class III malocclusions. Four-premolar extractions might be indicated if the patients asked for a profile reduction. Two similar Class III anterior crossbite cases illustrate how the skeletal anchorage can prevent protrusion after anterior crossbite correction and the need for four- premolar extractions, as in the first case. The use of extra-radicular miniscrews at the infrazygomatic crest and buccal shelf are recommended for whole arch distalization of the maxillary and mandibular arches to reduce protrusion after anterior cr

Distalization of whole arch required an appropriate force of application along with sound knowledge of biomechanics. After development of mini-implants it became quite easy because it doesn't need patient compliance which was a problem in olden days with conventional extraoral appliances. Introduction of extra-radicular mini-implant (IZC mini-implant) in orthodontics makes complete arch distalization single step procedure in comparison to intra-radicular mini-implants (conventional TADs) which we have to reposition due to root approximation. Over-denture is most commonly used treatment for elderly patient with two or more teeth remaining in the arch. The root of the remaining teeth preserve the alveolar ridge, provide sensory sense, improve the stability and retention of denture as compare to conventional complete denture, on using coping or attachment over the remaining part of tooth. The stability and retention of the denture is enhanced. In this particular case report the fabrication of a tooth supported over-denture retained with extra-radicular attachment has been discussed.

Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is an uncommon, slow-growing, noninvasive odontogenic tumor mostly in the anterior maxilla with three well-recognized clinico-pathological variants: follicular, extra-follicular, and peripheral. Extra-follicular variant presents as a well-defined, unilocular, radiolucency in between, above, or superimposed on the roots of an erupted tooth. The first article in this two-part series described the properties and use of hydraulic cements for intra-coronal applications, mainly for vital pulp therapy and as a barrier for regenerative endodontic procedures. In Part 2, the intra-radicular and extra-radicular uses are discussed. Hydraulic cements are a unique set of materials that set in the presence of water and, when set, they are resistant to deterioration in a damp environment. The use of hydraulic cements within the root canal (root canal sealer and apical plug) and when used at the periodontal–endodontic interface (perforation repa

The field of orthodontia has been witnessing numerous reforms in terms of treatment modalities through the years, under which the concept of absolute anchorage employing mini-implants can be well subsumed. The usage of orthodontic bone screws has witnessed growing popularity and has been deemed to revitalize the management of complex malocclusions. Orthodontic bone screws are larger in diameter (2 mm) in comparison with the average mini-implant and are placed in areas of high bone mineral density like the infrazygomatic crest in the maxilla and the buccal shelf area in the mandible.
