Abstract:
In this study, primary steps of a visual surveillance system are presented: moving object detection and tracking of these moving objects. Background subtraction has been performed to detect the moving objects in the video, which has been taken from a static camera. Four methods, frame differencing, running (moving) average, eigenbackground subtraction and mixture of Gaussians, have been used in the background subtraction process. After background subtraction, using some additional operations, such as morphological operations and connected component analysis, the objects to be tracked have been

Abstract:
One of the things augmented reality depends on is object tracking, which is a problem classically found in cinematography and security. However, the algorithms designed for the classical application are often too expensive computationally or too complex to run on simpler mobile hardware. One of the methods to do object tracking is with a trained neural network, this has already led to great results but is unfortunately still running into some of the same problems as the classical algorithms. For this reason a neural network designed specifically for object tracking on mobile hardware needs to

Abstract:
This thesis considers the problem of tracking an object in world coordinates using measurements obtained from multiple uncalibrated cameras. A general approach to track the location of a target involves different phases including calibrating the camera, detecting the object's feature points over frames, tracking the object over frames and analyzing object's motion and behavior. The approach contains two stages. First, the problem of camera calibration using a calibration object is studied. This approach retrieves the camera parameters from the known locations of ground data in 3D and their co

Thermal cameras have historically been of interest mainly for military applications. Increasing image quality and resolution combined with decreasing price and size during recent years have, however, opened up new application areas. They are now widely used for civilian applications, e.g., within industry, to search for missing persons, in automotive safety, as well as for medical applications. Thermal cameras are useful as soon as it is possible to measure a temperature difference. Compared to cameras operating in the visual spectrum, they are advantageous due to their ability to see in total
