Abstract:
Abstract: Fable is one of Sentani verbal folklore that was passed down by parents to children to teach morals. One of them is about the importance of preserving environment. Nowadays, unfortunately, fable is not frequently told anymore. Children and even most Sentani people do not recognize it. From long observation, Sentani children do not pay attention much to the nature as well. Data of fables were obtained from some informants, i.e. tribal chiefs (ondofolo, khote) and elderly people in East Sentani (Ayapo, Waena, and Asei Island) and Central Sentani (Sentani and Ifale) in 2017-2018. By adopting socio-cultural approach, this paper aims to discuss about (1) the natural environment of Sentani people, (2) the use of fables in environmental education for children. This study found that (1) fable is creative and innovative materials in teaching children about environment: nature, fauna, and flora that can be done informally, nonformally, and formally, (2) children have emotional ties with the fables and want to learn more, and (3) it is an alternative way of revitalizing Sentani fables and disseminating the socio-cultural values embedded in them. This study is benefecial to motivate Sentani children to learn more about their ancestor’s heritages, love their environment, and be proud of their identity. Abstract:
The article studies the evolutionary trends of the modern German fable. The fables of Reiner Kuntze and James Kruse show the departure of the modern fable of the late ХХth and early ХХІst centuries from the literary canons of the classical Aesopian fable, which to varying degrees accompanied the German fable over the centuries, new ways of creating images-symbols, building a style and compositions, the phenomenon of hierarchical plots and the inclusion of a modern fable in another literary genre. To illustrate all these innovations, fables and fable chains of this authors were analyzed to reflect in them modern socio-cultural realities, cultural codes, which nowadays have a significant capacity and deep meaning. The revealed transformations of the form of the modern fables, its style, the incompleteness and hierarchy of plots and images-symbols contribute to the more powerful possibilities of the fables to convey more and more information with a relatively short text. From a synergetic point of view, the modern fable is becoming an increasingly open system that actively involves the reader in the development of its images-symbols and plot. This process becomes much more effective than in fables of past eras. The mechanism of reflecting sociocultural factors through the goal-attractors, stylistic attractors and the specificity of language and speech in the fable as a synergistic system is explaned. The reflecting of the complex sociocultural factors in the modern fable is based on the fact that socioculture is a semiotic system, a set of signs and symbols. This makes it possible to establish the correspondence of the components of socioculture with other semiotic systems - attractors of the fable, its language and stylistics and to analyze the factors of modern culture, synergistic goals-attractors of fables and stylistic attractors dependent on them.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper aims, in general, at drawing attention to the many fables not included in fable collections. It focuses, more particularly, on the fables which can be found throughout Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic Greek literature, predating the extant ancient fable collections. Some of these stray fables are unique, others significantly vary well-known themes; all of them show that the genre is a flexible form, which can be adapted to widely divergent literary and social contexts. In this article the intrinsic interest and functional richness of the "non-collection" fable tradition are exemplified by analyses of the fable of the Lion Cub and the Man from a tragedy by Aeschylus, the lyric poet Archilochus' version of the fable of the Fox and the Eagle, and the multifunctionality of the fable of the Dung Beetle and the Eagle in three different comedies by Aristophanes.

Abstract:
The article carries out a systematic analysis of the fable texts and the theoretical concepts of the fable, which belong to the famous German fabulist and theoretician of the fable, parable, and joke, Wilfried Liebchen. It was been proven that his fables and concepts are included in the general evolutionary-synergistic model of the development of the fiction genre, which was developed by the Ukrainian school of linguistic synergetics. The article presents and explains the main principles that, according to V. Liebhen, determine the existence and productivity of the fable genre. These are the principles of cognition, purpose and goal. The specifics of the components of the cognition principle are described in the fable, although, of course, every other literary genre is formed according to this principle in its own way. It is also noted that the principle of purpose in the specifics of the fable genre is the requirement of a visual illustration of a complex social phenomenon, a sociocultural factor that is easily generalizable. V. Liebhen opposes the limitations of the stylistic possibilities of the fable. Contrary to Lessing, V. Liebhen recognizes the productivity of not only the Aesopian (rhetorical) fable, but also the epic one. An analysis and evaluation of V. Liebhen fables and their role in the fable evolution of the 20th and early 21st centuries is provided. The stylistics and composition of fables of this period and ways of expressing meaning are analyzed; at the same time, it is noted that the modern fable achieves the fulfillment of the principles of its existence by other means than the fables of previous eras. In particular, in the fables of the 20th and 21st centuries, an unfinished image-symbol, a hierarchical plot appears. This creates prerequisites for a comprehensive perception of the idea of a fable by the reader. According to our observations, the modern fable reflects the realities due to its deep synergetic nature. Namely, it contains deep contradictions in its structure and meaning, which it creatively resolves, and also depends during its formation on attractors, which can be classified into separate groups (social, thematic, stylistic). So, the modern fable is a synergetic system. The conducted research is a contribution to the general synergetic theory of fiction style and to stylistic synergetics.

Abstract:
Based on the material of German-language texts, the article considers a joke and a poetic fable as related and at the same time different forms of a small genre, if we consider them from opposite poles: as a properly-fable and a properly-joke. Depending on the ratio of stylistic features and their intensity, primarily the features of the comic, transitional forms, mixed texts are formed. With the strengthening of the role of the comic, the fable tends to turn into a joke. All varieties of the comic have always been inherent in the fable. But comicality did not dominate in it, since preference was given to the didactic purpose of the fable. If the comic takes first place, pushing morality into the background, then the fable turns into a joke. On the question of the relationship between fable and joke, the article presents the concept of V. Liebchen, a modern fable theorist and fabulist. In its form, the joke corresponds to the form of Aesop's fable, namely the rhetorical fable. It is based, as well as a joke, on a situational part (expectation) and a heuristic, cognitive part (pointe). The article presents Liebchen's short rhetorical fable “Witz und Fabel”, which is a figurative and symbolic reflection of this concept. It metaphorically and transparently depicts the value of the genre of the fable, its relationship with the joke, its subordination to the ancient fable. In my opinion, the creation of comic effects is based on the discrepancy between form and content: the original form of the object of ridicule is destroyed by a metaphorical comparison of this object with any other object or with the same, but with new characteristics that reduce its significance. The boundaries between a fable and a joke are very flexible: they are determined by the ratio of the comic and the instructive. Actually-joke moralization is not inherent. In this, it fully corresponds to the old form of the fable, which had no interpretation, no explicit morality. The article provides illustrations of the German-language texts of fables, in which the feature of comicality is so enhanced that one can speak of a tendency to turn into a joke (M. Claudius, F. V. Tsakharia, G. K. Pfeffel, V. Bush, V. Liebchen). When determining the relationship or dissimilarity of a fable and a joke, according to my method of analysis, the intensity of style features is taken into account: comicality, which in this case can be understood as the intensity of the alienation effect (pointe), and instructiveness, which must be understood not only in its direct meaning, but also in the meaning of knowledge and statements of certain truth. According to my definition and classification of fables, in addition, one must remember the feature of figurative symbolism associated with allegoricalness and fantasticness, due to which a more or less generalized and globalized image-symbol is formed, which is more associated with the heuristic than with the comic. Therefore this is also one of the main criteria for separating a fable from a joke. The ratio, the advantage of one or another feature moves the text into the zone of influence of the fable or joke. The prospects for further research include the inclusion of jokes in the diagrams of zones of mutual influence of related forms (fables, parables, didactic poems, instructive verses, epigrams, aphorisms), the study of linguistic and stylistic means of expressing the comic, which are implemented in the texts of these genre forms. I also consider the further development of studies of jokes and related forms in the linguosynergetic and pragmastylistic directions as an important perspective.

Abstract:
This thesis aims at studying the renewal of the aesthetics of the fable in france at the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries precisely from 1660 (with the beginning of louis xiv's reign) until 1724 (with the publication of of the fables'origin, by fontenelle). Considering that the polysemic word "fable" could mean, at that time, either a tale, a myth or a fable, this research follows two points of view, a historical and a theoretical one. We will, therefore, first determine the changes in the characteristics of the fable in pieces of criticism as well as in representations; we will also define the permanence of an aesthetic category. Thus, the first part deals with the changes in the status of fables, especially through the critical attacks of the moderns against the mythology of the ancients. The fable ceases to be an allegory to become an ornament. The second part shows how, along with criticism, came a renewal of aesthetics, notably through an extremely theatrical representation of the fable, and displays an inventory of the places where the fable usually takes place, places of learning (colleges, speeches) and places of everyday life (books, palaces, gardens, royal parties, operas). The fable is not a veil anymore but a mask and starts out a complex strategy of what is veiled and unveiled : the power of fables becomes the pleasure of unveiling things. The third part develops a theoretical study of the fable's narration's temporality conceived as the necessary mediation to gain access to the truth of the fable. Metamorphosis is the most appropriate means of this mediation. Finally the thesis offers a comparison between the three temporalities of the tale, the myth and the fable, while keeping the idea of a general category of the fable characteristics

Abstract:
By fable we mean the Greek and Aristotelian term muthos. This combining of imaginary facts, events and actions, according to necessity or probability, and keeping place for the astonishing, generates a system and displays an exploration of the possible. We assume that the cinematographic fable is not exclusively akin to a narrative. Being no less a dramatic – i. E. Performed – poem, the cinematographic muthos, as the product of a new presence of poetry, transcends the old opposition between diegesis, mediated as it is, and drama. The screenwriter is thus able to interprete de novo – as James A. Creelman does in the case of The Most Dangerous Game (1932) – the conceptual tensions between lyrical and mimetic gesture, between narrative and drama, between poiesis and praxis, between stasis and peripeteia. Will not his/her aesthetical options betray his/her concern for politics ?

Abstract:
Very few studies have been devoted to the fables of egyptian poet ahmad sawqi (1868-1932). These fables, found practically in their entirety in the fourth tome of his collection as-sawqiyyat, reveal many characteristics of the personality and epoch of he who would become the "prince of poets". Indeed, ahmad sawqi's apologues, composed for the most part during his stay in france, unveil all the cultural and political impact of this phase of his life on him. The hikayat are of course pedagogical, but also very suggestive politically and refer to more than one historical circumstance in egypt. In addition, they uncover a misanthropic vision and a certain immorality found ho where else in sawqi's work

WON, JONG-IK. Strasbourg 2, 1997. http://www.theses.fr/1997STR20089.

Full text
Abstract:
The aim of this thesis lies in having a better understanding of the evolution of the fable by discovering la fontaine's contemporary fabulistes. The first part is dedicated to a general presentation of the fabulistes and a short summary of the history of the fable. The second part of our work deals with poetics of the fable. Although the fable of the time does not equal the poetical quality of great genres like tragedy, it has something in common with them. Then the characteristics of the fable as a genre will be under scrutiny : brevity, morality, definition of the fable. The third part offers a classification of fables, made according to the taste of this period. In the first place, the "fable morale" aims at teaching a certain wisdom to help people in their lives and to improve their behaviours. The "fable pedagogique", variant of the "fable morale", applies to children. As regards the "fable galante", it is focused on love, its hazards, its delights, its sufferings. The themes and the expressions of the "fable galante" are identical with those of the "poesie galante", which shows that the "fable galante" is deeply rooted in the realm of poetry and follows faithfully the taste of the "societe mondaine". While the "fable galante" is related to the "societe mondaine", the "fable politique" is settled in the political situation of the time. The fable reflcts the international situation at the end of louis xiv's reign, period when the france was waging war against most european countries. To sum up,we must return to our fabulsites so that we can fully understand the situation of the fable in the second half of the seventeenth century and in addition to that, widen our field of investigation on the seventeenth french literatury. We have to add that the fable of the time claims the autonomy of french literatury toward the authority of the ancient fable, incorporating itself in the poetic realm with an imagination and a variety which are not to be found in the ancient fable

Abstract:
Derzhavin and the Aesopian Tradition in the Eighteenth Century. The literary tradition of the fable genre emerged and developed in the 18th century, starting from A. Kantemir, through the formal experiments of Trediakovskij and Lomonosov, Sumarokov’s “sklonenie na russkie nravy”, and the subsequent original elaboration by undisputed Russian representative I. Krylov. The article examines G. R. Derzhavin’s fable production in the context of the genre’s reception in 18th-century Russia. Derzhavin’s fables were published posthumously and have been little studied to this day. Overall, the poet composed 24 fables, 4 of which are based on the elaboration of Aesopian subjects. The latter are specific subjects of analysis through their comparison with previous literary versions. The work demonstrates how Derzhavin’ Aesopian fables versions are original and interesting as echoes of his creative evolution.

Abstract:
This chapter considers the Fable of the Old Lion found in the Cambridge Codex dated 1832 as the oldest Yiddish manuscript that has survived through the ages. A fusion of Jewish and Western traditions can be distinguished in the Fable of the Old Lion, which is found in many works of older Yiddish literature. The chapter mentions the community leader Moses ben Eliezer Wallich, who published Seyfer mesholim or Book of Fables, which includes thirty-four fables in Yiddish. The chapter also discusses the influence of both Berechiah ha-Nakdan and Ulrich Boner on Yiddish fable literature, which is evident throughout the early modern period. It examines the influence of German literature on fables written by Ashkenazic Jews, noting Moshe Pelli's discussion of the fable in the maskilic journal Ha-Me'asef.

Abstract:
The paper explores different literary transformations of the fable “The Cricket and the Ant” published by several commercial and popular Serbian editors. The corpus consisted of eight different versions of the fable: one-episode and two-episode fa- bles written in prose or in verse, a poem (“Mrav dobra srca” by Brana Crnčević) and a cartoon (“Cvrčak i Mravica”). A collection of La Fontaine’s faibles that contains meth- odological adaptations, edited by Nataša Stanković Šošo, was used as a supplementary source of analysis. The research was carried out by using content analysis, according to the following criteria: genre, gender of the protagonists, individual protagonist as opposed to collective protagonist, generic protagonist as opposed to named protagonist, characteri- sation of the protagonists, structure of the fable and the moral of the fable. The analysis has identified variations in genre (fables written in prose, fables written in verse, cartoon), variations that do not affect the structure of the storyline (collective or individual protag- onist, gender of the protagonists, one or two episodes), as well as variations that offer dif- ferent view on art and different moral of the story. Literary transformations have proven to be very fertile ground for the development of moral values and empathy in children, especially through writing their own version of the fable.

Abstract:
The goal of this paper is to introduce FABLE (Forest, Agriculture, and Biofuels in a Land use model with Environmental services), a dynamic global model, aimed at analyzing the optimal profile for global land use in the context of growing commercial demands for food and forest products, increasing non-market demands for ecosystem services, and more stringent greenhouse gas mitigation targets. The model seeks to determine the optimal allocation of scarce land across competing uses across time. FABLE integrates distinct strands of agronomic, economic and biophysical literatures into a single, intertemporally consistent, analytical framework, at global scale. It is based on a dynamic long-run, forward-looking partial equilibrium framework, in which the societal objective function places value on food production, liquid fuels (including first- and second- generation biofuels), timber production, forest carbon and biodiversity. The forestry sector is characterized by multiple forest vintages, which add considerable computational complexity in the context of this dynamic forward-looking analysis. Our baseline accurately reflects developments in global land use over the years that have already transpired, and determines the optimal path of global land use over the course of next century based on projections of population, income and demand growth from a variety of recognized sources.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract:
