Abstract:
The global water policy agenda has long called for a holistic approach to water resources management. However, key challenges remain in turning policy into practice, not least in managing conflict and enhancing cooperation over international watercourses. Towards such an endeavour, a better understanding of the role of watercourse treaties is needed. To date, much of the non-legal literature has failed to capture fully the unique characteristics of the international legal system. Conversely, much of the legal scholarship has failed to account for the social, economic and political context in w

But why would it be important nowadays to engage in rational research in philosophy in a quest for truth which also draws its inspiration from faith? Developments of deep water oil reservoirs are presently being considered in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). Pipe-in-Pipe (PIP) systems are widely used and planned as the tie-back flowline for high pressure and high temperature production (HPHT) due to their exceptional thermal insulation capabilities. The installation of PIP flowline in deep water, disregarding the laying method, can present real challenges because of the PIP string weight. The effect of the lowering displacement as well as the lock-in compressive load acting on the inner pipe for the commonly used un-bonded PIP is also a major conc

Abstract The Mahakam Block in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, has been producing oil and gas since the mid-1970s, now in its mature phase. Numerous wells installed with gravel pack (GP) completions dot the landscape of Mahakam. Given the massive history of water production, a reliable water shut-off (WSO) strategy is imperative to revive these wells, particularly those with target of unperforated reservoirs behind the GP zone. Squeeze cementing through a perforated sliding sleeve door (SSD) was once a common WSO method at the GP zone. However, due to concerns such as the need to damage the sleeve

Human-centered design for students with disabilities is an inherently multidisciplinary endeavor. It requires input from practitioners in the fields of user experience (UX), instructional design, accessibility, software engineering, and more. To that end, this paper seeks to reveal the perspectives of practitioners who have experience across these various disciplines, especially as they pertain to Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students. In a previous study, the author asked practitioners to describe the design guidelines they use in their professions. To contextualize the concept of guidelines

In the past two decades, Cambodia has been committed to the global agenda of ensuring that all children from all walks of life have access to education and quality learning opportunities. The focus was not only on access to education but also on gender parity and learning quality. Three years after the adoption of the Dakar Framework for Action in 2003, Cambodia adopted the national plan for Education for All (EFA) as a guiding pathway to realise the government’s commitments toward the education goals reiterated in the Dakar Framework. Cambodia has made subsequent development in education, not
