The dissertation investigates the problems of welded joints resistance to fracture, affected by high-cycle load. The object of research is mechanical state of welded joints, formed in construction elements, in which the fracture process begins because of high-cycle load. Examination of fracture mechanism is important to ensure the design and running durability of large-size elements. Detailed analysis and interpretation allows to choose better calculation methodology for welded joints. The main aim of dissertation – to investigate the process of fracture in butted welded joints, which are load

The need for a new way of conducting organizational business has been identified as essential to remaining competitive. Increasingly, businesses and organizations have turned to redesigning or re-engineering operational business processes to improve performance and competitiveness. Despite the widespread implementation of BPR, most projects have failed. A major reason for reengineering failure is cultural resistance. The evidence about the culture in r

In relating the story of these users’ interaction with information technology (IT) two key issues are explored: the nature of IT failure and the role played by gender in the outcome of new technology adoption. The pathophysiology of PCOS is not completely understood, but it is thought that insulin resistance plays a central role. Abstract Austenitic and duplex stainless steels are often used in corrosive environments due to their excellent corrosion resistance. These materials are chosen for their improved corrosion resistance but at an increased material cost. The improved corrosion resistance can be quickly negated by final installation techniques. Improper welding techniques can reduce their corrosion resistance and can make them more susceptible to failure. This paper presents several case studies in which welding negatively affected the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel components. Failure modes include

Limit states design, also known as load and resistance factor design (LRFD), provides a unified approach to dealing with all relevant failure modes and load combinations of concern.
