Abstract:
In previous research we concluded that a personality profile, based on the Five Factor Model, can be constructed from observations of a player’s behavior in a module that we designed for Neverwinter Nights (Lankveld et al. 2011a). In the present research, we investigate whether we can do the same thing in an actual modern commercial video game, in this case the game Fallout 3. We stored automatic observations on 36 participants who played the introductory stages of Fallout 3. We then correlated these observations with the participants’ personality profiles, expressed by values for five persona

Fallout is a series of role-playing games set in a prolonged nuclear age that follows the fictional Great War of 2077. Its story follows an alternate history scenario that branches from our history at about 1950. During the years following the nuclear fallout, the earth changes its face. Species mutate, some animals become sentient, and many humans lose their mind. This review focusses on the historic context of the nuclear age and how it informed the world of Fallout.

Abstract:
Using the J-RODOS and RECASS-EXPRESS software packages, modeling of the radiological and radiation-ecological consequences of a severe beyond design basis accident at the power unit of the Belarusian NPP with a VVER-1200 reactor was carried out. The simulation results showed that if radionuclides were released from the reactor containment at the level of 2.15·1015 Bq, the maximum values of the fallout from the atmosphere to the surface 1 day after the accident will be 2.98∙105 Bq/m2 for I-131 (J-RODOS) and 7∙105 Bq/m2 (RECASS-EXPRESS), and for Cs-137 − 1.11∙104 Bq/m2 and 1.3∙105 Bq/m2, respect

Abstract:
Anterior congenital urethrocutaneous fistula is a rare anomaly that may present in an isolated fashion or in association with other anomalies of the genital urinary tract or anorectal malformations. A case of congenital anterior urethrocutaneous fistula nonassociated with other congenital anomalies in a 3-year-old male whose mother has been exposed to Chernobyl's nuclear fallout is described. The patient was successfully operated with no recurrence. We report a review of the literature about etiology and surgical strategy including the role of ionizing radiations. The congenital anterior ureth

Abstract:
The study aimed to simulate the dynamics of 137Cs accumulation by freshwater fish under conditions of hypothetical radioactive contamination of water reservoirs in different seasons. The subject of research is the regularities of 137Cs accumulation by non-predatory fish species in eutrophic and oligotrophic water bodies. The dynamics of the 137Cs content in freshwater fish was calculated according to the content of radionuclides in water masses. The results of modeling the volumetric activity of 137Cs in water masses were used as an input parameter for the radionuclide accumulation in fish mod
