博士
國立臺灣大學
土木工程學研究所
96
Sedimentation from soil erosion is a critical reservoir watershed management issue. The formulation of watershed management strategies to protect water resources threatened by soil erosion and sedimentation requires a thorough understanding of sediment sources and factors that drive soil movement in the watershed. Due to limited data sources, informed decisions are not always easy to make. An effective alternative to estimating soil erosion is to analyze the spatial variation of 137Cs inventory in the soil. In the Baishi watershed, the net soil loss estimate f

Thesis (MSc. Agriculture (Soil Science)) -- University of Limpopo, 2019
Global shortage of fresh quality water has led to the use of treated wastewater in arid and semi-arid regions. Although, the treated wastewater has proven to be the best solution in ameliorating pressures brought by water shortage, it contains toxic heavy metals, some in high concentrations that could possibly pose health risks and degrade soil quality. Therefore, the objectives of the study were to determine the vertical and horizontal distribution of bioavailable heavy metals on virgin, cultivated and fall

Abstract:
Promotion of agroforestry practices in sub-Sahara Africa may help sustain subsistent food and wood production by integrating trees and crops on farmlands to replenish soil fertility and improve crop yield. Using rotational woodlot and pigeonpea intercropping systems in semi-arid Tanzania as case studies, my research screened suitable tree species to increase fuelwood supply and examined mechanisms for reducing tree-crop competition. By adopting nutrient use efficiency (the ratio of biomass yield to nutrient uptake) as a criterion, I found that selecting tree species of low wood nutrient conc
