The year of birth of the famous Russian writer of the second half of the XIX century Nadezhda Dmitrievna Khvoshchinskaya, who published her works under the nameV. Krestovskyj-pseudonym, is specified on the material of archival sources. The above information refutes the established opinion that the writer was born in 1824 or 1825 and allows us to say that 2021 is the year of the 200th anniversary of the writer.
