Full textIn the process of evolution of African literature, evolution which does not escape from that universal literature, “Le cercle des tropiques “ and “the récit du cirque”, are included in the category of the "new political novel" created by novelists of the second generation. The first novel uses the forms of realism to denounce and take apart the mechanism of a one-party system created an imagined country : "les marigots du sud" at the time of independance and through which is maintained on the whole population, the generally decried authority of a despot nomed Bare Koule. In the second novel, the same social theme reappears, but here as an allegory. Through this symbolic opacity, the geopolitical referent can be recognized without too much difficulty. Even though it is pure fiction as compared to the realism of the first novel : “Le cercle des tropiques”, the likelihood of the descriptions in “le récit du cirque” suggests as faithfully the criticism of power, oppression and indifference as does the first novel

Full textThe aim of this study is the analysis of the tragic hero's social evolution in the African novel. By centering our step on socio-historical interpretation of these four novels, we encountered a report according to which the tragic hero's existence, in the African novel, generally begins, at one time of happiness before rocking suddenly in the catastrophe. However the passage of the state of happiness to the state of absolute misfortune is not related to a suprasensible force like fate. It is on the contrary, the history as a movement of events projected by the human conscience and the policy which often replaces fate to lead the hero's to a tragedy. Beyond the analysis of the hero's social condition, we widened the fields of our study to the examination of the style of each author what enabled us to collect the principal features of the African novel on the aesthetics one

Full textThe study of satire in the Guinean novel shows that Alioum Fantouré's novels, those written by Tierno Monénembo and Williams Sassine, may be considered as satiric, because they satisfy certain criteria from works of a similar type. Due to the work density contained in the Guinean novel, I have centred my efforts on these three novelists. I have thus analysed in their works all the elements which allow to consider a piece of writing as satiric, i. E. General considerations on satire as well as its various forms which are comics, humour, irony, invectiveness, obscenity and parody. The selected domains of such a notion are society, politics and religion. Last, I have tried to look for the sustaining ways such as exaggeration, enumeration, distanciation and animal metaphor. Satire is also defined as the mixing of genres and styles. Considering all these elements, I have come to the conclusion that the Guinean novel can be classified in the category of the writings which are said to be satirist
