AbstractAddressing gender gaps in Africa’s agricultural sector is crucial for promoting equal opportunities and mitigating the impact of climate change. This chapter examines the specific ways in which climate change exacerbates existing gender disparities in agriculture in Africa. One significant factor is the gender gap in access to key farm resources and inputs such as farmland, labour, information, fertilisers, seedlings, and extension services. This gap contributes to the unequal distribution of land rights between men and women in Africa. Additionally, gendered differences in access to r

Hence, this paper focused on assessing skills gap and competency gap in MEP sector of Sri Lankan construction industry. Subsequ

Abstract:
Changes in climate and extreme weather are already increasing challenges for agriculture nationally and globally, and many of these impacts will continue into the future. This technical bulletin contains information and resources designed to help agricultural producers, service providers, and educators in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States integrate climate change considerations and action-oriented decisions into existing farm and conservation plans. Abstract:
Nepal, one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable countries, is facing severe impacts from climate change, particularly in its agricultural sector, which employs two-thirds of the population and contributes more than a quarter of the nation’s GDP. Smallholder farmers, the backbone of this sector, are grappling with rising temperatures, erratic monsoon patterns, droughts, and increasingly frequent extreme weather events. Adapting to these challenges through Climate-Resilient Agriculture (CRA) is essential to ensuring food security and safeguarding the livelihoods of millions. CRA incorporates n

The Adaptation Resources for Agriculture Workbook was jointly developed by USDA Climate Hubs and NRCS to support producers, service providers, and educators to manage climate change. The workbook helps producers consider both short-term adaptive management actions (<5 yrs) and long-range strategic plans (5 to 20 yrs, subject to farm type). This workbook pro-motes adaptation through multiple resources including a “menu” of adaptation strategies/approaches and example tactics for cropping and forages, confined livestock, grazing, orchards and small fruit and vegetable production systems. Abstract:
Over recent decades, the prevalence of cohabitation among U.S. adults has grown rapidly (Smock, 2000; Smock & Schwartz, 2020). Estimates from the Current Population Survey (CPS) show that in 2009, approximately 14.0 million adults aged 15 or older cohabited, which increased to 20.3 million by 2024. Although both younger and older adults cohabit, it is far more common among younger adults (Julian, 2023). Still, in the past few decades, cohabitation has risen among older adults, too (Brown & Wright, 2017). This Family Profile uses data from the Current Population Survey (IPUMS; Flood et

The Program to Support Labor Insertion (PAIL for its Spanish name) revamped training program design in the country by offering courses aligned with the needs of the private sector, enhancing non-cognitive skills, and combining practical work within companies with classroom training. We combine administrative records which contain detailed information on the employment history and characteristics of all formal workers in Paraguay with an empirical strate
