Abstract:
This article uses collaborative auto/ethnography to explore the circulation and potentiality of affect in the live performances and archive of Pretty Porky and Pissed Off (PPPOd), a Toronto-based queer fat activist performance art collective active during the late 1990s and mid-2000s. Drawing on video and audio recordings of five PPPOd performances alongside other performance ephemera and a series of conversations relating to these archival objects among the article’s three authors, we identify and theorize our affective responses to and situated recollections of these performances, both in their current form as archival objects and as historical live events. We argue that PPPOd’s archival objects/live performances disrupt the constellation of affects that constitute fat hate (e.g., fear, loathing, shame) and set in motion more affirmative affects (e.g., playfulness, pride, desire, love) that contribute to micro-worldings and prefigurative fat politics, as ephemeral as these might be. In capturing these fleeting moments of radical possibility, PPPOd’s activism and archive offer opportunities for touching and feeling a future where fat lives are more livable.

The association between the organic movement and ‘alternative medicine’ may have been one reason for the failure of the McCarrison Society in Britain to appeal to many National Health Service doctors and dentists. This is unfortunate because the aims of the McCarrison Society have nothing to do with any system of medical care. Our hope is to prevent disease by promoting McCarrison's teaching that man is perfectly adapted to his food supply as it occurs in nature and that the greatest single cause of the diseases of industrial peoples is their dependence on foods made worthless or harmful by processing and refining. This teaching applies to the modern epidemic of coronary heart disease. The evidence incriminating natural unprocessed fat as a cause of this disease is unconvincing.

Abstract:
This artide is analysing contemporary cultural menings of the fat male body. More specifically it is looking into how the fat, male body is used as a cultural symbol for the crisis of a white, heterosexual working-class masculinity, in relation to the hegemonic masculine (and fallic) body as hard, muscular and impermeable. Two British movies are used as illustrating examples, both dealing with the male working class anti-hero as facing social and economic marginalisation and loss of power: The Full Monty by Peter Cattaneo (1997) and All or Nothing (2002) by Mike Leigh. Both these movies have leading male characters who are fat/overweight. They are not only represented as marginalised because of unemployment and an inability to construct masculinity around work and the identity as provider, but they are also positioned as marginalised because of theirdeviant bodies. The movies are analysed within the social and cultural context of an increasing visibility (and nomalization) of the fat man in movies and sitcoms (primarily in the USA), the increasing media objectification of the male body, weight, eating and appearance as becoming issues for men, and finally, the highly moralizing and stigmatizing "fat is bad" discourse which dominates Western culture. The analysis focus on how both the character Dave in The Full Monty and the character Phil and hisson Rory in All or /Vof/7/'ngare feminized in relation to the other male characters and in relation to women. They are represented as without traditional male characteristics such as assertiveness, aggressivity and sexual potency. For example Dave is depicted as being ashamed of his body, deeply concerned of his weight and appearance, occupied with finding ways to reshape his body through dieting etc. He manifests an objectified body consciousness, usually associated with women and femininity. In the conclusion Johansson argues that both movies represent the fat male body in a ambivalent and contradicting way, outlining different alternatives for the fat characters to deal with marginalization and loss of masculine power. One way is to try to fulfil the traditional norm of working class masculinity, to be hard working and sexually potent, and be able to earn the epithet of "big and strong" rather than "fat and weak". The other way is to "do" masculinity in new ways and to perform femininity. Johansson argues that the actual turning points for the characters of Dave and Phil, the shift from shame and passivity to pride and activity, are the scenes when they openly acknowledge their shame and vulnerability, and when they are met with acceptance and love. Although none of the movies challenge male dominance, the way the representations of the fat, white, heterosexual working dass man transgress stereotypes, could possibly open up for alternative representations of masculinity. Through a practice of communication the fat male figure ceases to symbolize the subordination of the white, heterosexual working dass man in relation to a hegemonic ideal. Instead he becomes an adive subject, embodying hope, respect, closeness and pride.

Abstract:
Currently, there is a wide variety of dry cat food, which makes it difficult to choose truly high-quality nutrition for your pet. In order to determine the quality of ready-tofeed, we compared complete dry food for kittens of the Bist, Pet-pride, Proplane and Probalance brands. As a result of the study, it was found that Bist, Pet-pride and Probalance brands contain more than 30% meat in their composition, the Proplane brand contains the least amount of meat in the food. Bist brand food has the most abundant and varied composition, rich in nutrients, since it consists of freeze-dried meat that retains its beneficial properties, other brands contain dehydrated meat, in which the beneficial substances lose their qualities during dehydration. When assessing the moisture content of the food, it was determined that Bist brand food exceeds the declared indicators by 2.3%. In other brands of food, this indicator is lower than the declared figures. The crude fat content in the feeds only in the Probalance brand feed corresponds to the declared figure and even exceeds the declared figure on the packaging by 2%. In the other brands of feed studied, the crude fat content was lower than the declared parameters by 2.0-4.3%. The ash content in the studied feeds was lower than the declared figure on the packaging only in the Bist brand feed – 5.2%, in the other feeds this figure exceeded the declared figures, but remained within the permissible limits. Protein – an important figure in all brands of feed studied was lower than the declared parameters by 1-4%, but corresponded to the permissible norm of up to 36%.

Abstract:
Nas últimas décadas, o número de pessoas com sobrepeso e/ou obesidade tem aumentado em todo o mundo. Isto fez com que estas pessoas começassem a ter maior representação e visibilidade social nos diversos meios de comunicação. Apesar disto, poucos ainda são os estudos que tratam deste movimento mundial sob o olhar do consumo. Assim, este trabalho busca apresentar um panorama geral da produção intelectual acadêmica sobre o movimento fat pride no mundo, a partir de análise bibliométrica e revisão sistemática da literatura, a fim de contribuir para o desenvolvimento do tema. Para isso, foram avaliados artigos, teses e dissertações encontrados em dez bases de dados: Banco Digital de Teses e Dissertações, Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Capes, EBSCO host, Google Scholar, Periódicos Capes, ProQuest, Scielo, Scopus, Spell e Springer. Os resultados apontaram que o tema ainda é incipiente e precisa de mais aprofundamentos na literatura científica, tendo maior número de publicações e envolvimento de instituições e autores nos Estados Unidos. Além disso, há poucos estudos quantitativos e a extrema maioria dos trabalhos publicados restringe-se à visão feminina no movimento de orgulho corporal e no consumo, desconsiderando a questão do homem gordo como potencial consumidor.

Abstract Although stigma was first theorized as a basic social process, its contemporary developments have been highly compartmentalized. Understanding the nature of stigma—how it operates across subjects and circumstances—requires a return to general theory. The authors take this general turn, focusing on stigma’s discursive element. Through combined case studies of race, disability, and fat stigma (134 interviews with 146 parents), they develop the stigma discourse-value framework (DVF) as a theoretical scaffold for stigma discourse studies. The DVF includes three value-oriented categories: stigma as deficit, value-neutral diversity, and value-added pride. Tracing commonalities and divergences within and between cases vis-à-vis the DVF, the authors show stigma discourse to be a multifaceted interpersonal process that variously reflects, reinforces, and challenges stigmatizing social structures.

Abstract:
Objective Weight stigma is pervasive and is associated with negative health and psychological outcomes. Few studies have examined weight stigma perpetration or the emotions individuals experience after perpetrating weight stigma. This study used experience sampling to explore the nature and frequency of weight stigma behaviors and cognitions and moral emotions (shame, guilt, remorse, pride) in the perpetrator following weight stigma perpetration. Methods Participants were college students (N = 31, 77.1% female). Participants completed baseline measures of anti-fat attitudes and one week of experience sampling phone prompts assessing: (1) weight stigma behaviors and cognitions and (2) moral emotions. Generalized estimating equation analyses were used to model trajectories of moral emotions after weight stigma events. Results Thirty-one participants reported 1,008 weight stigma events over 7.5 days. Feelings of guilt, shame, and remorse decreased after weight stigma perpetration. Individuals also reported feeling less proud after engaging in weight stigma. Conclusions Weight stigma occurs frequently as reported by perpetrators. A lack of remorse, guilt, and shame is evident in undergraduates after they express weight stigma; however, individuals in this study also reported feeling less pride after perpetration. This study highlights the need for future studies to explore the expression of weight stigma from the perspective of perpetrators instead of targets. Results highlight the pervasiveness and normative nature of weight stigma perpetration in everyday life and the need to better understand the emotional response following weight stigma perpetration as a potential mechanism of its perpetuation.

Abstract:
This exploratory article considers the accumulations of fat and other materials in London’s sewerage system – known as fatbergs in the UK – in terms of the processes of infrastructuring. In particular, drawing on a range of media, including a major museum exhibition, numerous newspaper and online articles, and a TV documentary, this article analyses how London’s fatbergs have been affectively enacted. The affects identified include: disgust in the composition of the fatberg, pride in the London-ness of the fatbergs, admiration at the ‘flushers’ courage, generic horror at the sewers, shame in the flushing of wet wipes, and anxiety about microbial threats. Such enactments simultaneously perform the fatbergs, the sewerage infrastructure, and the public audiences, through what we can call ‘affective infrastructuring’. This extends the analysis of infrastructuring to encompass the ways in which public audiences are affectively ‘made’. The article also suggests that the various affective enactments of the fatberg cumulatively perform London as spatially uniform and the sewerage system as temporally naturalized. A critical implication of this is an effacement of, on the one hand, class and cultural difference and, on the other, historical specificity.

Till följd av att större delen av alla nyproducerade bostadsrätter i Stockholms kommun idag säljs till fasta priser är det intressant att undersöka och ta reda på varför inte fler bostadsproducenter använder sig av budgivning som försäljningsstrategi. Hur dessa fasta priser fastställs av bostadsproducenterna och vad som ligger till grund för den bedömningen, är även det en intressant aspekt.  Information som ligger till grund för de teoretiska utgångspunkterna har inhämtats genom en grundlig litteraturstudie. Resultatet bygger på ett par kvalitativa intervjuer för att ta reda på vilka parametrar som spelar in vid val av försäljningsstrategi och prissättning. Urvalet av intervjukandidater har noga övervägts och landade i en aktör som använder sig av ett budgivningsförfarande och en aktör som använder sig av fast pris som försäljningsstrategi, för att på bästa sätt kunna ställa dessa metoder mot varandra.  Analysen visar bland annat att storleken på projektet, vilka finansieringsalternativ som är möjliga, inställningen och egenskaperna hos bostadsproducenterna och hur marknadsläget råder är avgörande för vilken strategi som används. Slutsatsen mynnar ut i att mycket handlar om finansieringsmässig trygghet och att det är en inställningsfråga hos bostadsproducenterna. Det finns därmed goda möjligheter att i större utsträckning använda sig av budgivning som försäljningsstrategi. Alternativt att kombinera de två olika metoderna, budgivning och fast pris, för att på så sätt nå maximal avkastning, vilket borde ligga i bostadsproducentens intresse.<br>Due to the fact that most new production of condominiums in the municipality of Stockholm today are sold at fixed prices, it is interesting to investigate and find out why not more real estate developers use bidding as a sales strategy. How these fixed prices are determined by the developers and the basis for that assessment. Information that underlies the theoretical starting points has been obtained through a thorough literature study. The result is based on a couple of qualitative interviews to find out which parameters are involved in choosing a specific sales strategy and pricing. The selection of interview candidates has been carefully considered and landed in an actor using a bidding process and an actor using fixed price as a sales strategy. The analysis shows, among other things, that the size of the project, which financing options that are possible, the attitude of condominium developers and how the market situation prevails determines the strategy used. The conclusion is that the attitude among the real estate developers plays a big role, and there are good opportunities to make more use of bidding as a sales strategy. Alternatively, combine the two different methods, bidding and fixed price, in order to achieve maximum return.

Abstract:
This thesis compares two groups of features for short-term price predictions of futures contracts; fast- and slow-acting features. The fast-acting group are based on limit order book derived features and technical indicators that reacts to changes in price quickly. The slow-acting features constitute of technical indicators that reacts to changes in price slowly. The comparison is done through two methods, group importance and a mean cost calculation. This is evaluated for different forecast horizons and contracts. Furthermore, two years of data was provided to do the analysis. Moreover, the comparison is modelled with an ensemble method called random forest. The response is constructed using rolling quantiles and a volume weighted price.  The finding implies that fast-acting features are superior at predicting price changes on smaller time scales, while long-acting features are better at predicting prices changes on larger time scales. Furthermore, the multivariate model results were similar to the univariate ones. However, the results are not clear-cut and more investigation ought to be done in order to confirm these results.<br>Den här uppsatsen jämför två typer av variabler för kortsiktig pris prediktion av terminskontrakt; snabba och långsamma variabler. De snabba variablerna är en sammansättning av limit order boks härledda variabler och tekniska indikatorer som svarar snabbt på prisförändringar. De långsamma variablerna utgörs av tekniska indikatorer som svarar långsamt på prisförändringar. Jämförelsen är gjord med två metoder, "group importance" och genomsnittskostnad. Detta har gjort för olika prediktionshorisonter och kontrakt. Två-års data användes för att göra analysen. Detta modellerades med en gruppmetod, kallad "random forest". In this thesis we examine the prevailing dilemma concerning fast fashion and an increased attitude-behaviour gap. Many previous studies have explored the subject of fast fashion and also tried to solve the problem with the attitude-behaviour gap. We want to take this a step further by investigating what influence fast fashion may have on consumers&apos; perception of value. By exploring this we hope to gain further knowledge concerning the attitude-behavior gap.Our focus is on young female consumers, since previous studies show the likelihood of the gap between intent and action being the largest in this consumer group. To a certain extent it can be explained by their frequent purchase of fast fashion, but also the fact that younger consumers are more influenced by fashion press and celebrity culture. This study is foremost based on qualitative research and is completed with the use of two focus groups, as well as a more quantitative research in the form of a content analysis of the Swedish fashion magazine, Sofis Mode. The study has a deductive approach.The theoretical perspectives consist of theories concerning value; value in relation to price and the concept of value. We also present a redefined model of perceived value. The results show evidence of increased focus and exposure of low priced fashion and that the low perceived monetary price has a significant impact of consumers‟ perceived value of clothing. The focus on selling low price instead of value inclines that clothes have lost its intrinsic value, as a result making clothes easily replaceable. Our study further shows a smaller attitude-behaviour gap among consumers with a high knowledge of textiles and textile production.<br>Program: Master in Fashion Management with specialisation in Fashion Marketing and Retailing

La gestion de fait est a la fois une construction intellectuelle et une procedure de controle financier qui apprehende les faits de maniement sans la qualite de comptable public, de fonds et valeurs destines a la caisse d'un organisme public. Ses relations avec le droit prive sont modelees par cette nature hybride. Sur le plan theorique, la question se pose de savoir si cette construction intellectuelle dont la paternite est attribuee a la cour des comptes est une construction orginale. En d'autres termes, il s'agit de mesurer le degre d'originalite et, correlativement, la part d'emprunt au droit prive que la theorie de la gestion de fait integre dans sa conception, a l'issue de l'analyse, il est apparu que l'arret ville de roubaix (1834) qui consacre la naissance officielle de cette theorie n'est pas le pendant de l'arret blanco (1873) qui, dans sa redaction, affiche resolument l'autonomie du droit administratif. Bien qu'originale, la theorie de la gestion de fait s'inspire a bien des egards, de theories en vigueur en droit prive et, specialement, en droit civil (theorie generale des obligations, de la responsabilite civile, de la representation) et en droit penal. Sur le plan procedural, les relations entre la gestion de fait et le droit prive sont placees tantot sous le signe de la concurrence, tantot sous le signe de la complementarite. Cette dialectique de la concurrence et de la complementarite s'observe lorsqu'il s'agit aussi bien de reprimer l'ingerence dans les operations comptables que de determiner la responsabilite civile qui incombe au comptable irregulier du fait de son immixtion dans le maniement de deniers destines a la caisse d'un comptable public. De nos jours, l'evolution des rapports entre la reglementation comptable et le droit prive tend a limiter ces hypotheses de concurrence pour mieux enserrer le maniement irregulier des fonds publics entre la repression penale et la procedure de gestion de fait et, du meme coup, accentuer la cooperation entre le juge financier (cour et chambres regionales des comptes. Cour de discipline budgetaire et financiere) et le juge judiciaire.

Abstract:
La ventilazione di grandi ambienti industriali riveste un ruolo fondamentale nell'eliminare la stratificazione dell'aria, promuovendo un rimescolamento continuo e un'omogeneizzazione della temperatura interna dell'edificio e riducendo le perdite di calore verso l'esterno e i consumi energetici dell'edificio. In quest'ottica lo studio di nuovi sistemi per la ventilazione e l'efficientamento di quelli esistenti assume grande importanza. La ricerca presentata in questa tesi è volta alla progettazione fluidodinamica di due categorie di destratificatori largamente utilizzati in questo campo: gli HVLS fan e i ventilatori assiali intubati. Per entrambi i prodotti è stato seguito l'intero processo produttivo, dalla progettazione alla realizzazione e commercializzazione del prodotto. Nel primo caso è stata sviluppata una nuova pala in estruso di alluminio ad alta efficienza con l'obiettivo di ridurre i consumi elettrici e migliorare l'efflusso di aria dalla girante, utilizzando un codice della BEM per elica spingente per la progettazione e una verifica sperimentale del prototipo. Per quanto riguarda il ventilatore assiale, la progettazione si è concentrata sul convogliatore, con profilo aerodinamico, per garantire una maggiore portata elaborata dalla girante e una maggiore velocità in uscita. Oltre ciò, la ricerca si è concentrata sullo studio di ali flessibili e deformabili come possibile applicazione per gli HVLS fan. Queste ali, infatti, hanno il vantaggio di essere estremamente leggere e di avere un importante impatto estetico che potrebbe essere richiesto in alcuni ambienti come centri commerciali, palestre, biblioteche o altri edifici aperti al pubblico. Lo studio quindi, ha lo scopo di caratterizzare queste ali da un punto di vista aerodinamico mediante test in galleria del vento, al fine di comprenderne il funzionamento e le prestazioni. I risultati sperimentali ottenuti saranno utilizzati per valutarne l'applicabilità ai destratificatori.<br>Large industrial environments ventilation plays a fundamental role in removing air stratification. It promotes a continuous mixing and homogenization of building internal temperature so to reduce heat losses towards the outside and energy consumption of the building itself. From this point of view, the study of new ventilation systems and increasing efficiency of existing ones is an issue of great importance. The research presented in this thesis is aimed at the fluid dynamics design of two categories of destratifiers, widely used in this field: on one side the HVLS fans and on the other the axial ducted fans. The entire production process was followed for both products, from design to realization and marketing of the product. For what concern to the HVLS fan, a new highly efficient extruded aluminium blade was developed with the aim of reducing electricity consumption and improving the flow of air from the impeller. The design process involved the use of a BEM code for propeller; than an experimental verification of the prototype was made in order to characterize the performance of the product. For the axial fan, the design was concentrated on the propeller duct, characterized by an aerodynamic profile, to guarantee a greater flow rate going through the impeller and a greater output speed. Beyond that, the research focused on the study of flexible and deformable wings as a possible application for HVLS fans. These wings, indeed, have the advantage of being extremely light and of having an important aesthetic impact that could be required in some environments such as shopping centers, gyms, libraries or other buildings open to the public. The study therefore aims to characterize these wings from an aerodynamic point of view by wind tunnel tests, in order to understand their operation and performance. The experimental results obtained will be used to evaluate their applicability to destratifiers.

Après avoir effectué une analyse critique des théories de la décision, des différentes conceptions du rôle du dirigeant et des approches concernant l'apprentissage en situation d'action, nous avons choisi d'étudier la décision sous un angle original : au lieu de considérer la capacité à prendre des décisions comme un objectif de formation nous partons de l'hypothèse que, chez les dirigeants, la décision est bien souvent considérée et vécue comme une opportunité d'apprentissage, voire comme une stratégie d'apprentissage insérée elle-même dans une perspective plus large de construction identitaire. Cela situe notre recherche dans l'articulation de deux perspectives, envisageant à la fois la formation dans et par l'action mais aussi à travers la construction de l'identité. Pour tester la validité de notre proposition, une enquête multi-cas a été effectuée par voie d'entretien sur un échantillon de 21 dirigeants, opérationnalisée par une double analyse, qualitative et quantitative. Les résultats révèlent, en particulier, que l'apprentissage décisionnel est rendu possible par l'articulation de 4 facteurs : un contexte organisationnel adéquat, une situation d'action favorable, des modèles de référence et une posture particulière du dirigeant<br>After having produced a critical analysis of decisional theories, as well as of the different conceptions of the manager's role and approached the learning process in action , we have chosen to study the decision under an original point of view. Instead of considering the capacity to take decision as a training aim, we make the assumption that by the manager, the decision is often considered as an learning opportunity, or as a learning strategy inserted in a wider perspective of identity construction. This places our research within two perspectives, to be considered at the same time : education within the action but also throughout identity construction. To check the validity of our proposal, we have interviewed a panel of 21 managers, finalized by a quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of the survey reveals particularly that decisional training is possible when 4 factors are present : appropriate organisational context, favourable action situation, reference models and a specific manager attitude

Abstract Duplex stainless steels are widely used by the oil and gas and chemical and process industries because of their combination of high strength and corrosion resistance. The alloys are usually used in the solution annealed condition and must be fast cooled from the annealing temperature to prevent the precipitation of third phases, such as sigma, chi, nitrides and alpha prime. Alpha prime precipitates in the temperature range 550 to 300°C. It forms less readily than sigma phase and other intermetallic precipitates and so is not normally found in commercially produced duplex alloys. However, poor cooling of duplex steels through this temperature range or repeated excursions in to this temperature range can result in its formation. Alpha prime dramatically reduces impact toughness and increases susceptibility to hydrogen induced stress corrosion cracking due to cathodic protection. However, corrosion resistance in chloride environments appears to be little affected by this phase. Alpha prime cannot be seen under optical microscopes, because of its very small size. This means that the combination of corrosion testing in ferric chloride solution, microstructural examination and impact testing, can be ineffective in detecting alpha prime precipitation, principally because of the low toughness acceptance level of 45 Joules at -46°C that is commonly specified. This paper describes a simple electrochemical reactivation test to detect alpha prime that can be used with both 22%Cr and 25% Cr alloys. The paper also presents some case studies where low toughness occurred but no third phases were visible in optical microsections. The test was used to confirm the presence of alpha prime and determine what should be done to correct the problem.

Within the CMORE program IMEC translates proven, Si technology based device concepts and process flows in industrially and commercially viable products and manufacturing flows. Si based IC processing technologies are, and will continue for a long time to be at the basis of many product innovations. Miniaturization and integration have proven to be powerful tools for the conception of novel products. These technologies are usually referred to a “Heterogeneous Integration” or “More Then Moore” in contrast to the pure CMOS scaling referred to as “More Moore”. Many of these new products combine high performance, multiple functions and compactness with consumer price levels. In other cases, miniaturization leads to unprecedented performances, resulting in products which were not feasible before. New device concepts are often generated at university, governmental or industrial laboratories. Although these environments are very well suited for proving technical feasibility, they are often less well equipped and organized for product development and the development of corresponding Si processing flow. On the other hand the prime focus of Si or MEMS foundries, be it merchant or captive, is wafer throughput, resulting in little interest for allocating processing capacity to product and process development, when product market acceptance still has to be proven and high volume production is still questionable. In addition development activities introduce risks on contamination and equipment failures leading to a reduction of the fab capacity. This gap between “proof-of-concept” and volume manufacturing offers new opportunities for R&amp;D fabs traditionally active in CMOS scaling. These “development and prototyping” fabs have the infrastructure, processing know-how and procedures in place to efficiently translate device concepts into products and to develop industrially viable fabrication processes. In addition they have the flexibility and experience to introduce very quickly new materials and associated equipment, while keeping in mind compatibility with the industrial foundry environment, where final production will take place. Close cooperation with material and equipment suppliers is very important in that respect. In many projects executed at IMEC, wafer scale interconnects and/or wafer scale packaging are important aspects of the final device and therefore should be included from the start of the project. In this paper the IMEC approach and capabilities will be presented and illustrated with a number of past and ongoing projects.

Not in standard models. With conventional pricing frictions, imposing a flat Phillips curve also imposes a price level that is rigid with respect to supply shocks. In the New Keynesian model, price markup shocks need to be several orders of magnitude bigger than other shocks in order to fit the data, leading to unreasonable assessments of the magnitude of the increase in costs during inflationary episodes. To account for the facts, we propose a strategic microfoundation of shock-dependent price stickiness: prices are sticky with respect to demand shocks but flexible with respect to supply shocks. This friction is demand-intrinsic, in line with narrative accounts for the imperfect adjustment of prices. Firms can credibly justify a price increase due to a rise in costs, whereas it is harder to do so when demand increases. Inflation from supply shocks is efficient and does not justify a monetary policy response.

It highlights how populist politics often adopt an anti-elitist stance, particularly against academic historians. Populists tend to favor simplified, decontextualized, or ambiguous historical narratives infused with strong emotional appeals—such as pride, anger, fear, or nostalgia—over the rigorous, evidence-based approach of professional historiography. Despite populism’s strong orientation toward the past, the academic exploration of its relationship with history has been relatively sparse so far. This book makes a notable contribution to addressing and bridging that gap.

Les familles des personnes handicapées représentent une source essentielle de soins pour l’un ou l’une des leurs ayant une incapacité. Cependant, la prise en charge d’une personne handicapée au sein de la famille pose des défis singuliers qui risquent de miner le bien-être de la famille. Cet état de fait s’avère particulièrement fréquent au sein des familles n’ayant qu’un faible degré de soutien social, affectif et financier. De fait, le bien-être de nombreuses familles touchées par l’incapacité demeure fragile, et ces vulnérabilités ainsi que les moyens d’y remédier adéquatement sont parfois mal compris. Il faudra déployer des efforts supplémentaires afin de mieux comprendre et soutenir ces familles.
