Abstract:
Soft faults of analog circuits are more difficult to diagnose than hard faults because the soft faults are caused by the deviations of component parameters. Node voltages were traditionally used as the testing signals to diagnose analog circuits. With the rapid development of integrated circuits technology, fewer and fewer circuit nodes are accessible. Only the output voltage can be tested in many cases. This cries for other new accessible signal except for the traditional voltage signal. In this paper, the fault features of testing signal in both time-domain and frequency-domain are analysed.

Transient situations of a uni-grounded low-voltage (LV) AC microgrid (MG) are simulated through various fault tests and operation transition tests between grid-connected and islanded modes. In this paper we propose a strategy for real-time detection of interturn shortcircuit faults (ISCF) on three-phase induction motor (IM) by using a VoldKalman filter (VKF) algorithm. ISCF produce a thermal stress into the stator winding due to large current that flows through the short-circuited turns. Therefore, incipient fault detection is required in order to avoid catastrophic failures such as phase to phase, or phase to ground faults. The strategy is based on an analytical IM model that includes a ISCF fault in any of the phase windings and considering the h -th harmonic in the voltage sup

Abstract:
Prior research leading to the development of predictive electromagnetic coupling computer codes has shown that the coating conductance is the principal factor in determining the response of a pipeline to magnetic induction transmission line. Under power line fault conditions, a high voltage may stress the coating causing a significant change in its conductance, and hence, the coupling response. Based upon laboratory experimentation and analysis, a model has been developed which allows prediction of the modified coating characteristics when subjected to high voltages during fault situations. Abstract:
Research into the induction and conduction coupling response of a pipeline co-located with an electric power transmission line to assess the high voltage coupling response under fault conditions. Capacitive discharge tests were performed on primarily fusion bonded epoxy and coal tar enamel coatings containing discrete individual holidays (circa 1985). A pipeline coating response model to high voltage stress was developed, but questions arose within the pipeline community as to the veracity of capacitate discharge coating testing when the coupling was from overhead alternating current electric

Abstract:
This paper addresses the assessment of the corrosion risk of a pipeline due to alternating currents. The state of the art technique is the use of coupons, which simulate a coating fault and which allow to measure the ac-current density and also to evaluate corrosion products and pits. Recently, different criteria to assess the corrosion risk have been proposed that are based on the ratio between ac- and dc-current density or the instantaneous off-potential (high-speed off-potential measurement) measured on a coupon. Furthermore, the charge needed to oxidize corrosion products (under alkaline c
