We present a catalogue of the species of Tortricidae Latreille, 1802 recorded from India. The documented fauna consists of 487 species belonging to 168 genera in three subfamilies: Chlidanotinae (14 species), Tortricinae (175 species), and Olethreutinae (298 species). Five species included in the catalogue were previously “named” but not properly described and are considered nomen nuda. We include these species because they are almost certainly distinct taxa and represent a part of the tortricid fauna. The catalogue is based primarily on literature in which Indian tortricid species have been d

The ant communities of the Paraná River drainage in South America have spawned several major invasive species and a number of cosmopolitan tramp species, including the fire ant Solenopsis invicta Buren and the Argentine ant Linepithema humile (Mayr). Paraguay sits at the center of the Paraná drainage but hosts one of the most poorly-documented ant faunas in the Neotropics, imposing a taxonomic impediment to ant studies in the region. Abstract:
The first comprehensive catalogue of the extant Neuropterida of Pakistan is presented, and the known distributions of all of these species from Pakistan are summarized. The fauna, as presently known, comprises 113 species in 63 genera and 11 families, but this certainly attributes to a significant under-representation of the true fauna. Eighteen species are presently known only from Pakistan and are possibly endemic. The biogeography and several related aspects of the fauna are discussed.
