Abstract:
This study was carried out by surveying all the water bodies of two states where Typha grass exists. Soil auger was used to take soil samples randomly from five different locations in both Kebbi and Katsina state. at the depths of 0-5cm, 5– 10cm, 10– 15cm.Soil nutrient was analyzed for the mineral composition of the two States at different season and soil depths. The result showed that, soil depth between 5-10cm has the highest percentage of nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium during dry season. The nutrient composition of soil from the two states followed the same pattern during wet s

Mulching is a vital agricultural practice that affects soil moisture retention, temperature regulation, and overall soil health. Three grass mulching materials (Gamba (Andropogon Gayanus), Jema (Chrysopogan Zizanioides) and Kachala (Typha Angustifolia)) at four mulching depths (0, 5, 10 and 15 cm) were examined to assess their effects on soil moisture content, temperature, bulk density and porosity. The study was conducted on onion plots irrigated with sprinkler system at a constant operating pressure (100 kPa). The study was carried out at the irrigation field laboratory of the Yelwa campus o

AbstractSeed‐based restoration of wetlands is often necessary to improve important ecosystem functions (e.g., invasion resistance and habitat provisioning) and meet society's need for wetland ecosystem services such as supporting recreational activities and improving water quality. However, persistent questions remain about the composition and sowing density of seed mixes needed to restore robust native wetland plant communities. In Great Salt Lake wetlands (Utah, USA), the revegetation of native species is crucial to recovering critical habitat and preventing reinvasion of the invasive, non‐n
