Abstract:
Historically feature writers occupied a privileged, often protected, position in a newsroom. While news reporters were required to produce copy to a tight deadline, the feature writer had the luxury of time in which to craft a well-researched and argued piece. Today, that is rarely the case. Feature writers are no longer inured from every day newsroom pressures. They’re expected to produce news as well as features, a reality which has contributed to a decline in the quality of longer form journalism. While technology has promoted greater interactivity among writer and audience, or content producer and audience in the case of online features, the focus and scope of features has changed immeasurably.

Abstract:
We investigate the detection of handwriting forged by novices. To facilitate document examination it is important to develop an automated system to identify forgeries, or at least to identify those handwritings that are likely to be forged. Because forgers often carefully copy or trace genuine handwriting, we hypothesize that good forgeries — those that retain the shape and size of genuine writing — are usually written more slowly and are therefore wrinklier (less smooth) than genuine writing. From online handwriting samples we find that the writing speed of the good forgeries is significantly slower than that of the genuine writings. From corresponding offline samples we find that the wrinkliness of the good forgeries is significantly greater than that of the genuine writings, showing that this feature can help identify candidate forgeries from scanned documents. Using a total of eight handwriting distance features, including the wrinkliness feature, we train a neural network to achieved 89% accuracy on detecting forged handwriting on test samples from ten writers.

This article focuses on two examples of sociological writing that have attracted wide public interest: Didier Eribon’s best-selling memoir about his working-class origins, Returning to Reims, and Hartmut Rosa’s door-stopper work of social theory, Resonance, featured on the cover of the German news magazine Stern. These two very different works – one indebted to Bourdieu and Foucault, the other located in the tradition of the Frankfurt School – share certain qualities. First, a formal feature I’ll call scale-shifting: a leavening of theoretical claims with vivid examples and resonant details. And second, a commitment to doing justice to the phenomenological depth of ordinary persons’ self-understanding. Both writers, in other words, approach the world as deserving of a poet’s attentive and appreciative eye as well as a theorist’s critical gaze.

Abstract:

Prominent Feature Analysis (PFA) is a reliable and valid writing assessment tool, derived from the writing it is used to assess. PFA, used to assess on-demand expository essays in Grades 3–12, uncovers positive and negative characteristics of a sample. To extend PFA to a new academic level and genre, I assessed scientific writing of 208 undergraduates, identifying 35 linguistic and 20 scientific prominent features. An essay could earn up to 28 positive (24 linguistic and four scientific), and up to 27 negative marks (11 linguistic and 16 scientific). The minimum prominent features number in a paper was 3, the maximum was 25 (M = 12.45, SD = 3.88). The highest positive and negative prominent features numbers noted were 17 (M = 4.11, SD = 3.96), and 16 (M = 8.34, SD = 3.25) respectively.

Rasch analysis revealed a good data-model fit, with item separation of 5.81 (.97 reliability). The estimated feature difficulty of items spanned over 10 logits; common errors were easier to avoid than “good writing” characteristics to exhibit. Significant correlations among linguistic, but not between linguistic and scientific features, suggest writing proficiency does not assure excellence in scientific writing in novices. Ten linguistic features significantly strongly and moderately inter-correlated with each other, appearing to represent writing proficiency. Student GPA correlated significantly with the raw prominent features scores (r = .37; p < .01), and negatively with the sum of negative linguistic features (r = –.40, p < .01), providing support for scale’s validity, and suggesting that good students are better at avoiding common writing errors than less able learners. Additionally, PFA scores positively significantly correlated with composite ACT scores.

To investigate PFA’s ability to track change in writing over time, I compared 2 sets of prominent features scores of 25 students. In comparison with earlier essays, later (longer) essays exhibited significantly more positive, and more negative features. Prominent features scores did not correlate significantly between the sets. This suggests, that while PFA is a valid and appropriate tool for analysis of undergraduate scientific writing, it was not suitable for tracking change in writing ability in this small sample.

The purpose of this study was to identify and describe elements that may influence the effective planning and implementation of writing coach programs at small newspapers.Writing coaching at newspapers is becoming increasingly popular as a way to improve the writing abilities of reporters, to improve newsroom morale, to improve the relationship between reporters and editors, and to better serve newspaper readers. This study examined newspaper writing coach programs from an adult and continuing education program planning perspective.This study was qualitative, and was not intended to be generalized to any population. It was intended to provide information that may help the management and staff at small newspapers plan and implement writing coach programs effectively.Two techniques were used to obtain information: 1) telephone interviews with writing coaches, and 2) mini case study site visits to top editors at small newspapers.Ten writing coaches, located throughout the United States, were interviewed by telephone. The coaches selected for interviews were recommended by their peers as being among the most effective coaches in the country. Domain and taxonomic analyses were conducted of the interview transcripts. The study resulted in information relevant to eight areas related to planning and implementing newspaper writing coach programs: benefits, reasons, barriers, budgets, organizational climate, strengths and weaknesses, structure, and evaluation.Site visits were made to seven small newspapers. Before the visits, the top editors at the seven papers were sent a summary of the information gathered in the writing coach interviews. The editors were asked to react to the interview summary and to share their thoughts on planning and implementing writing coach programs at their newspapers. The site visits resulted in seven mini case studies, each containing a narrative section and a conclusions section.Following the interviews and site visits, a general model was recommended for planning and implementing effective writing coach programs at small newspapers. The Coaching Way of Life Model describes assumptions upon which a coaching program should be based, and describes the role of a coaching facilitator at a small newspaper.

Give and Tell brings together research, practice and reflection to generate new understandings about the changing nature of giving in Australia and story-telling techniques available to journalists who are interested in facilitating public discussion about these social changes. Contemporary giving is shaped by personal, emotional, shared, creative, and innovative responses. This study finds that for journalists to effectively use features journalism to capture and subsequently reframe philanthropy, they will need an understanding of emotion and its impact on framing, emotional intelligence and an appreciation of the storytelling devices and strategies available to engage readers and create a shared experience of giving.

This study took the widely-accepted, ‘industry standard’ Structural Paradigm of feature film plotting, and ‘road tested’ it, assessing its value as a tool in the process of actually writing a feature film script. The methodology employed was to write a feature film script (titled THE ARM THAT DOES THE HARM) and look to apply the Paradigm to the writing process. Journals recording the process were kept and peer assessment undertaken. The data from these sources was then analysed and conclusions drawn. The reason for and value of this study are that, while this Paradigm is widely espoused by screenwriting gurus, taught as part of film courses and applied as a tool of script assessment and review, there is very little documented evidence of its actual value to the practice of writing a script. My findings revealed that, though a useful reference point throughout, the Paradigm is most valuable during the early stages of story structuring and again, most particularly, when editing later drafts. An important outcome of this study was that it identified the Paradigm as a valuable tool, not a rule that must be adhered to, a series of points a narrative must be seen to ‘hit’ in order for it to be considered to have been told correctly. Further, this study demonstrated in practice how this tool can be applied. This study suggests that trying to force an evolving story into the confines of the Paradigm can inhibit the story from developing ‘organically’ from its characters. Rather, the Paradigm should be applied as a tool for helping shape stories that first and foremost should be character-driven.

Abstract:
This thesis explores issues of writing, difference, time, the body and memory through an exegesis and two feature-film scripts: "The Bridge Between", a Chinese single-nation production, and "Swell", an Australian-Chinese international co-production. Through the inclusion of sections of autobiographical narrative interwoven with moments of reflection, analysis and speculation, the exegesis argues for an approach to the creative process of scriptwriting as a combination of theory, engagement with other art practices, and, perhaps most importantly, the life experiences of the writer. Co-production film-making has becoming an increasingly important driver of international feature-film production in recent years. International co-productions may be defined as production arrangements containing a sigificant presence of production elements from two or more national origins. These elements can include a mix of the finacial, technical and creative. Two major categories of international co-productions can be identified: private studio-to-studio single purpose contracts must be distinguished from co-production arrangements of the government-to-government kind. Government-to-government co-production arrangements give producers the option to apply to publicly accountable funding bodies of governments in two or more nations.

Abstract:
Characterization in Pulitzer-awarded features and traditional features was measured using a characterization typology developed by the author. Although some of the results were statistically constrained by a small n, those results which were statistically significant reflect that what separates Pulitzer-winning features from regular features are those elements of characterization particular to scene: a character's distinctive physical characteristics, clothing and possessions; the setting and environment as it defines a character; a physical description of character that is not lineament nor habitual posture or expression but bodily appearance in the immediate moment; a character's movements and actions, facial expressions, words, and thoughts. In an era when the predicted demise of newspapers is more fact than fiction, the reader's experience with newspapers is paramount. Crucial to the news reading experience is the reader's enjoyment: how "I" experienced a story through empathy, parasocial interaction, and/or identification. Perhaps a solution to newspapers' loss of readership is scene: within scene, fear, anguish, exhilaration, and joy are not only the experiences of the characters, but also that of the reader's.

Abstract:
In this paper, an investigation was done to identify writing style features that can be used for cross-topic and cross-genre documents in the Authorship Identification task from 2003 to 2015. Different writing style features were empirically evaluated that were previously used in single topic and single genre documents for Authorship Identification to determine whether they can be used effectively for cross-topic and crossgenre Authorship Identification using an ablation process. The dataset used was taken from the 2015 PAN CLEF Forum English collection consisting of 100 sets. Furthermore, it was investigated whether combining some of these feature sets can help improve the authorship identification task. Three different classifiers were used: Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine, and Random Forest. The results suggest that a combination of a lexical, syntactical, structural, and content feature set can be used effectively for cross topic and cross genre authorship identification, as it achieved an AUC result of 0.837.

Abstract:
Two-photon lithography is a direct laser write process that enables fabrication of millimeter scale 3D structures with nanoscale building blocks. In this technique, writing is achieved via a nonlinear two-photon absorption process during which two photons are near-simultaneously absorbed at high laser intensities. Due to the high laser intensities, it is essential to carefully select the incident power so that two-photon polymerization (TPP) occurs without any laser damage of the resist. Currently, the feasible range of laser power is identified by writing small test patterns at varying power levels. Herein, we demonstrate that the results of these tests cannot be generalized because the damage threshold power is dependent on the proximity of features and reduces by as much 37.5% for overlapping features. We have identified that this reduction occurs due to a combination of reduced TPP for overlapping features and increased single-photon absorption of the resin after curing. We have captured the damage arising out of this proximity effect via 3D computed tomography images of a non-homogenous part that has varying feature density. Part damage manifests in the form of internal spherical voids that arise due to boiling of the resist at high laser intensities. Herein, we have empirically quantified this proximity effect by identifying the damage threshold power at different writing speeds and feature overlap spacings. In addition, we present a first-order analytical model that captures the scaling of this proximity effect. The scaling laws and the empirical data generated here can be used to select the appropriate writing process parameters so as to correct for proximity effects and prevent part damage during sub-micron additive manufacturing of parts with closely spaced features.

Abstract:
The fabrication of surface relief diffractive elements using a series of binary exposures and etches in photo-resist is attractive because it relies upon standard lithographic techniques [1]. Disadvantages of this process include the necessity for mask generation prior to photoresist exposure and the logarithmic relationship between the desired number of phase levels and number of exposures. To overcome the latter restriction, the generation of gray level masks has been proposed [2]. However, both restrictions can be overcome if the photoresist is exposed directly. Electron beam [3] and laser beam direct-write [4] procedures have been proposed. Electron beam writing is attractive for its high resolution and laser beam writing for its cost. Both high resolution and low cost are possible if a tapered fiber is used to deliver energy to the photoresist [5,6]. We report on the fabrication of diffractive gratings with submicron features using a tapered fiber to deliver ultra-violet (UV) energy to a layer of photoresist.

Taxpayers sometimes engage in complex transactions with uncertain tax treatment, such as mergers, acquisitions, demergers and spin-offs. With the rise of global value chains and proliferation of multinational corporations, these transactions increasingly involve transnational financial arrangements and cross-border dealings, making tax treatment even more uncertain. If improperly structured, such transactions could have costly tax consequences. One approach to dealing with this uncertainty is to create a private rulings regime, whereby a taxpayer applies for a private ruling by submitting a statement detailing the transaction (proposed or completed) to the tax authority. The tax authority interprets and applies the tax laws to the requesting taxpayer’s specific set of facts in a written private ruling. The private ruling offers taxpayers certainty as to how the tax authority views the transaction, and the tax treatment the taxpayer can expect based on the specific facts presented. Private rulings are a common feature of many tax systems around the world, and their main goal is to promote tax certainty and increase investor confidence in the tax system. This is especially important in a developing country like Uganda, whose tax laws are often amended and may not anticipate emerging transnational tax issues. Private rulings in Uganda may be applied for in writing prior to or after engaging in the transaction. The Tax Procedures Code Act (TPCA), which provides for private rulings, requires applicants to make a full and true disclosure of the transaction before a private ruling may be issued. This paper evaluates the Ugandan private rulings regime, offering a comparative perspective by highlighting similarities and contrasts between the Ugandan regime and that of other jurisdictions, including the United States, Australia, South Africa and Kenya. The Ugandan private rulings regime has a number of strengths. It is not just an administrative measure as in some jurisdictions, but is based on statute. Rulings are issued from a central office – instead of different district offices, which may result in conflicting rulings. Rather than an elaborate appeals process, the private ruling is only binding on the URA and not on the taxpayer, so a dissatisfied taxpayer can simply ignore the ruling. The URA team that handles private rulings has diverse professional backgrounds, which allows for a better understanding of applications. There are, however, a number of limitations of the Ugandan private rulings system. The procedure of revocation of a private ruling is uncertain. Private rulings are not published, which makes them a form of ‘secret law’. There is no fee for private rulings, which contributes to a delay in the process of issuing one. There is understaffing in the unit that handles private rulings. Finally, there remains a very high risk of bias against the taxpayer because the unit is answerable to a Commissioner whose chief mandate is collection of revenue. A reform of the private rulings regime is therefore necessary, and this would include clarifying the circumstances under which revocation may occur, introducing an application fee, increasing the staffing of the unit responsible, and placing the unit under a Commissioner who does not have a collection mandate. While the private rulings regime in Uganda has shortcomings, it remains an essential tool in supporting investor confidence in the tax regime.

Walter Bagehot (1873) published his famous book, Lombard Street, almost 150 years ago. The adage “lending freely against good collateral at a penalty rate” is associated with his name and his book has always been set on a pedestal and is still considered as the leading reference on the role of lender of last resort. Nonetheless, without a clear understanding of the theoretical grounds and the institutional features of the British banking system, any interpretation of Bagehot’s writings remains vague if not misleading—which is worrisome if they are supposed to provide a guideline for policy makers. The purpose of the present paper is to determine whether Bagehot’s recommendation remains relevant for modern central bankers or whether it was indigenous to the monetary and banking architecture of Victorian times.

Two GRI–compiled GIS data sets of the geology and geohazards of the parks are the principal deliverables of the GRI. The GRI GIS data are available on the GRI publications website http://go.nps.gov/gripubs and through the NPS Integrated Resource Management Applications (IRMA) portal https://irma.nps.gov/App/Portal/Home. Enter “GRI” as the search text and select a park from the unit list. Writing of this report was based on those data and the interpretations of the source map authors (see “GRI Products” and “Acknowledgements”). A geologic map poster illustrates the geology GRI GIS data set and serves as a primary figure for this GRI report. No poster was prepared for the geohazards GRI GIS data set. Additionally, figure 7 of this report illustrates the locations of the major geologic features in the parks. Unlike the poster, which is divided into a northern and southern portion to show detail while accommodating the parks’ length, figure 7 is a single-page, simplified map. The features labeled on figure 7 are discussed in the “Geologic History, Features, and Processes” chapter. To provide a context of geologic time, this report includes a geologic time scale (see "Geologic History, Features, and Processes"). The parks’ geologic story encompasses 200 million years, starting in the Jurassic Period. Following geologic practice, the time scale is set up like a stratigraphic column, with the oldest units at the bottom and the youngest units at the top. Organized in this manner, the geologic time scale table shows the relative ages of the rock units that underlie the parks and the unconsolidated deposits that lie at the surface. Reading the “Geologic Event” column in the table, from bottom to top, will provide a chronologic order of the parks’ geologic history. The time scale includes only the map units within the parks that also appear on the geologic map poster; that is, map units of the geohazards data are not included. Geology is a complex science with many specialized terms. This report provides definitions of geologic terms at first mention, typically in parentheses following the term. Geologic units in the GRI GIS data are referenced in this report using map unit symbols; for example, map unit KJfrc stands for the Cretaceous (K) and Jurassic (J) Franciscan Complex (f), Redwood Creek schist (rc), which underlies a portion of the Redwood Creek watershed (see “GRI Products”).

The California State Rail Plan (CSRP) is among the best rail plan documents published by any jurisdiction in the United States to date. As such, the CSRP is used in this paper as the basis of comparison to other state rail service plans. These plans will have been submitted to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on record as of June 2020—as required under Section 303 of the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act (PRIIA) of 2008. The purpose of this paper is to identify the best practices and gaps that may inform California and other states in their future rail service plan development. This paper is grounded in the realization that, while the general outline of FRA requirements is uniform for all states, the actual content and inclusion of these requirements in the myriad state plans varies greatly. For example, California was granted an exception to help update FRA Rail Plan Guidance for its 2018 Rail Plan, other states have complained that FRA guidance and requirements on rail service planning have put state rail agencies in the position of constantly writing plans with little or no time to implement them. Throughout this research, the authors identify all the elements of FRA guidelines as reflected in the CSRP and rail plans of other states. This report also identifies the best features and planning strategies that may inform and improve the state rail planning process going forward, steps that will positively contribute to the public benefit of enhanced rail systems.

The article clarifies of gender identity stereotypes in modern media. The main gender stereotypes covered in modern mass media are analyzed and refuted. The model of gender relations in the media is reflected mainly in the stereotypical images of men and woman. The features of the use of gender concepts in modern periodicals for women and men were determined. The most frequently used derivatives of these macroconcepts were identified and analyzed in detail. It has been found that publications for women and men are full of various gender concepts that are used in different contexts. Ingeneral, theanalysisofthe concept-maximums and concept-minimum gender and their characteristics is carried out in the context of gender stereotypes that have been forme dand function in the society, system atizing the a ctual presentations. The study of the gender concept is relevant because it reveals new trends and features of modern gender images. Taking into account the special features of gender-labeled periodicals in general and the practical absence of comprehensive scientific studies of the gender concept in particular, there is a need to supplement Ukrainian science with this topic. Gender psychology, which is served by methods of various sciences, primarily sociological, pedagogical, linguistic, psychological, socio-psychological. Let us pay attention to linguistic and psycholinguistic methods in gender studies. Linguistic methods complement intelligence research tasks, associated with speech, word and text. Psycholinguistic methods used in gender psychology (semantic differential, semantic integral, semantic analysis of words and texts), aimed at studying speech messages, specific mechanisms of origin and perception, functions of speech activity in society, studying the relationship between speech messages and gender properties participants in the communication, to analyze the linguistic development in connection with the general development of the individual. Nowhere in gender practice there is the whole arsenal of psychological methods that allow you to explore psychological peculiarities of a person like observation, experiments, questionnaires, interviews, testing, modeling, etc. The methods of psychological self-diagnostics include: the gender aspect of the own socio-psychological portrait, a gender biography as a variant of the biographical method, aimed at the reconstruction of individual social experience. In the process of writing a gender autobiography, a person can understand the characteristics of his gender identity, as well as ways and means of their formation. Socio-psychological methods of studying gender include the study of socially constructed women’s and men’s roles, relationships and identities, sexual characteristics, psychological characteristics, etc. The use of gender indicators and gender approaches as a means of socio-psychological and sociological analysis broadens the subject boundaries of these disciplines and makes them the subject of study within these disciplines. And also, in the article a combination of concrete-historical, structural-typological, system-functional methods is implemented. Descriptive and comparative methods, method of typology, modeling are used. Also used is a method of content analysis for the study of gender content of modern gender-stamped journals. It was he who allowed quantitatively to identify and explore the features of the gender concept in the pages of periodicals for women and men. A combination of historical, structural-typological, system-functional methods is also implemented in the article. Descriptive and comparative methods, method of typology, modeling are used. A method of content analysis for the study of gender content of modern gender-labeled journals is also used. It allowed to identify and explore the features of the gender concept quantitatively in the periodicals for women and men. The conceptual perception and interpretation of the gender concept «woman», which is highlighted in the modern gender-labeled press in Ukraine, requires the elaboration of the polyfunctionality of gender interpretations, the comprehension of the metaphorical perception of this image and its role and purpose in society. A gendered approach to researching the gender content of contemporary periodicals for women and men. Conceptual analysis of contemporary gender-stamped publications within the gender conceptual sphere allows to identify and correlate the meta-gender and gender concepts that appear in society.

Abstract:
The article analyses the topic of the genocidal policy and actions of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine in the works of Timothy Snyder. The subject of the research is the genocidal component of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as the reasons and evidence of the genocidal intentions of the Russian authorities in Timothy Snyder’s reasoning. The objective of the study is to establish the specifics of the elucidation of the reasons and evidence of the genocidal component in Russia’s policy against Ukraine in the scientist’s writings. The following methods were used in the process of scientific research: systematic, comparative, content analysis, historical, and their combination. The research highlights the main theses and ideas of the author regarding the facts of Russia’s expansionist position against Ukraine. Moreover, the study specifies the main theses of the author, which he uses to explain the reluctance of the world community to recognise the war in Ukraine as genocidal. In addition to this, the research states and describes nine features presented by Timothy Snyder to prove the intentions of the Russian Federation to exterminate Ukrainians as a nation. He also notes that the authorities of the terrorist country are doing everything to deprive the concepts of “Nazi” and “genocide” of any meaning, as well as make sure that the history of the Holocaust or the Second World War does not bring any lessons to future generations. The findings of our research are important for journalists and scholars who cover and examine the Russian-Ukrainian War and its historical context. In addition, they will aid our country in confronting the propaganda and lies spread by the Russian Federation, because Timothy Snyder explores the topic of Ukraine, as well as the longevity of Russian-Ukrainian relations in his works. Subject of the article’s study – ecumenism of Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi and reflection of this phenomenon in the works of scientists and modern Ukrainian media. Main objective of the study: analyze what Ukrainian scientists, journalists and different media are writing about Sheptytkyi’s ecumenism. Methodology: We used a bibliographic method to accumulate factual material, a qualitative content analysis to isolate the ideas of ecumenism from the journalism of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi, a cultural-historical method that made it possible to consider the ideas of ecumenism in the context of the era, the connection with the historical context, as well as methods of synthesis and generalization, induction and deduction. The study process description: In our scientific article, we analyzed the doctoral dissertation of His Beatitude Lubomyr Huzar entitled «Andrei Sheptytskyi, Metropolitan of Halytskyi (1901-1944). Herald of ecumenism». His Beatitude Lubomyr defended this fundamental work at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome back in 1972. Therefore, we observed how this work reflects the historical prerequisites, features and development of Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism, who, according to His Beatitude Lubomir, was a kind of innovator in this field, a person who was ahead of his time. We also analyzed the reflections on the ecumenism of Sheptytskyi´s father, doctor Ivan Datsk, which are reflected in his book «In Search of Faithfulness and Truth». In addition, we turned to the scientific text «Ecumenism of Sheptytskyi» by professors Mykola Vegesh and Mykola Palinchak. Subsequently, it was analyzed how the scientific work became a useful basis for the coverage of Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism in the press. In particular, in the columns of the cultural and social site «Zbruch» in Diana Motruk’s article «In Search of Church Unity». We also turned to the «Spiritual Greatness of Lviv» website, where in 2020 an interview with Mykhailo Perun, who shot the film «Sheptytskyi: Relevant information», was published, illustrating the ecumenical initiatives of this figure. In addition, we analyzed the publication on Radio Svoboda for 2022, dedicated to the anniversary of Sheptytsky’s stepping into eternity. It is also mentioned there about of Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism as his landmark activity. Subsequently, we found an article on the website «Christian and the World», where in a conversation with the scientist Dr. Andrii Sorokovskyi entitled «Andrei Sheptytskyi believed that the union is a synthesis, communion and dialogue between the East and the West, – Andrii Sorokovskyi» also analyzed the phenomenon of Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism. Results: we discovered that Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism was studied not only by numerous scientists, but this meaningful legacy of his is a valuable phenomenon for media coverage. Therefore, Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism becomes the subject of interest of journalists not only of publications that write mainly on church topics, but also socio-political and artistic ones. We are sure that Sheptytskyi’s ecumenism will continue to be studied by professional scientists and representatives of the wider media community. Significance: journalism of a religious orientation, high-quality and substantiated coverage of religious processes and phenomena in the press is still something quite new for modern Ukraine. In Soviet times, journalists were afraid to write about religion in order not to incur the wrath of the authorities, so such materials could not be included in the press. That is why it is very important to study how today’s journalists cover important issues of religion, which, in addition, have a strong scientific basis. In addition, the development of ecumenism and religious unity are extremely important for building national unity, which is necessary for our state to effectively confront the enemy in full-scale war.
