The study was conducted to determine effect of pelleting agents on physical and chemical characteristics as well as microbiological and mycotoxicological safety of pelleted feed mixtures for laying hens. Four feed mixtures were analyzed: Control (K) - without supplemented pelleting agent, and three experimental ones (A, B and C) with supplemented pelleting agent. Lignocellulose concentrate-based agent was added in feed mixture A -?Arbocel? (2%), and bentonite-based agent in feed mixture B ?Bentopel? Abstract Studies at Midwest Research Institute for the National Toxicology Program show that rotenone/animal feed mixtures prepared by drymixing are more stable than mixtures produced by dosing the feed with alcoholic solutions of rotenone and then stripping the solvent. A simplified analytical method from one previously reported for rotenone in feed is described.

Associative effects of feed mixtures have been studied looking at the differences (i.e. gas production) between single and mixed substrates, and significant differences have been found when fodder trees were mixed (Rosales et al., 1998). This may not be the more appropriate form to analyze mixtures, because small departures from simple additivity may result in significant differences as the sum of all its components equals one. Taking this fact into account mixture designs have been suggested as an adequate tool when dealing with mixtures (Mead, 1988). Mixtures design are a special class of re

The article presents the data of domestic and foreign researchers for feeding of poultry used lupin and its processed products. It’s advisable to use energy-and-protein concentrates made of legumes and cereal grain mixtures to prepare complete feeds. Lupin is one of the main sources of plant protein with unique amino acid composition. In opinion of the majority of researchers lupin containing feeds made according to technic guidance support productivity increasing of poultry growing and improve the quality of the products.

Abstract:
The research was conducted in a circulating fluidized bed having diameter and height of riser of 5 and 200 cm., respectively, at ambient temperature and pressure. The objective was to study hydrodynamics of mixed-feed between sand and various biomasses including rice husk, sawdust, and bagasse at 50% by volume. The air flow rate was in the range of 4.2-5.7 m/s. The velocity of sand in the riser was obtained by using a high speed camera and an image processing software. The results showed that at the lowest gas velocity the velocities of sand in the mixture were higher than those in the single

The underlying similarity between soils, grains, fertilizers, concentrated animal feed, pellets, and mixtures is that they are all granular materials used in agriculture. Modeling such materials is a complex process due to the spatial variability of such media, the origin of the material (natural or biological), the nonlinearity of these materials, the contact phenomenon and flow that occur at the interface zone and between these granular materials, as well as the dynamic effect of the interaction process. The lack of a tool for studying such materials has limited the understanding of the phen

The major bottlenecks in rearing the highly priced gastropod abalone (Haliotis spp.) are the slow growth rate and the high mortality during the first 8 to 12 weeks following metamorphosis and settling. The most likely reason flor these problems is related to nutritional deficiencies in the diatom diet on which the post larvae (PL) feed almost exclusively in captivity. Higher survival and improved growth rate will reduce the considerable expense of hatchery-nursery resisdence time and thereflore the production costs. There has been a considerable amount of research generally into the benefits associated with low carbon development, showing that it can be synergistic with development priorities – such as job creation, improved public health, social inclusion and improved accessibility (see for example, Gouldson et al., 2018). However, this rapid review finds limited evidence and information around these benefits specifically for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. There has been much interest in green growth in Jordan in the last ten years, particularly as Jordan is seen as having a large renewable energy pote

The overall objective of the whole research was to elucidate the mechanisms by which LAB silage inoculants enhance ruminant performance. The results generated will permit the development of better silage inoculants that maximize both silage preservation and animal performance. For this one-year BARD feasibility study, the objectives were to: 1. determine whether lactic acid bacteria (LAB) used in inoculants for silage can survive in rumen fluid (RF) 2.select the inoculants that survived best, and 3. test whether LAB silage inoculants produce bacteriocins-like substances.
