Abstract:
PurposeThis study aims to investigate the influence of work-family conflict and the glass ceiling on the performance of female lecturers in higher education institutions, with job satisfaction examined as a mediating variable. Design/methodology/approachA quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing a survey method to collect data from 98 female lecturers affiliated with the APTIK network. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the hypothesized relationships among variables. FindingsThe results demonstrate that both work-family conflict and the glass ceiling have significant negative effects on job satisfaction. Furthermore, job satisfaction is proven to mediate the relationship between these factors and female lecturer performance. These findings highlight the critical role of psychological well-being in enhancing academic performance among female lecturers. Practical implicationsThe study provides actionable insights for human resource management in higher education institutions to design effective policies and interventions aimed at reducing work-family conflict and breaking the glass ceiling. Enhancing job satisfaction can be a strategic approach to improving lecturer performance. Originality/valueThis research offers empirical evidence on the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between work-family conflict, the glass ceiling, and lecturer performance. The study contributes to the limited body of knowledge focusing on female academic staff within the APTIK network, offering valuable guidance for institutional development and gender equity initiatives. Novelty/Originality of this study: Many researches about financial behavior topics have analyzed financial information factors’ influence on financial management behavior, but few of them have included psychological factors such as financial self-efficacy and emotional intelligence. This distinguishes this research compared to other studies of financial behavior as it analyzes the two effects of psychological factors on financial management behavior. Another novelty of this study is the selection of female lecturer as research object as their characteristic as well-informed and well-educated about financial management that has not observed by previous studies.

Abstract:
This research explores the intricate interplay between female leadership style, organizational culture, work motivation, and lecturer performance in private universities located in Tangerang City, aiming to shed light on their collective impact on education quality. Employing a quantitative survey approach with a sample of 382 lecturers chosen through simple random sampling, data analysis was executed using Partial Least Square (PLS) software version 3.0. The results unveiled a counterintuitive negative influence of female leadership style on lecturer performance, substantiated by a significant t-statistic value of 2.176 (p-value = 0.030 < 0.05). Conversely, organizational culture exhibited a potent positive effect, with a remarkable t-statistic value of 17.823 (p-value = 0), emphasizing its pivotal role in elevating lecturer performance. In conclusion, this study underscores the need for women in leadership to cultivate a supportive organizational culture to mitigate potential detrimental effects on lecturer performance, ultimately enhancing the overall educational quality of private universities in Tangerang City. These findings have broader implications for similar educational contexts and organizational leadership practices, highlighting the importance of fostering inclusive and conducive environments.

Abstract:
In early seventeenth-century Lima, female visionaries composed texts of their bodies, and texts composed their bodies. This fact can be explained, in part, by the belief that an individual could gain access to and appropriate the language of God (his spiritus) in distinct ways. Mystical narratives, stigmata, as well as the spoken words of enraptured visionaries communicating with absent souls were considered readable texts because the object to be read could be a book, a painting, or the body itself. Thus the reading of, and listening to, texts was parallel to Lima’s visionaries entering a state of spiritual ecstasy (arrobamiento), and reading their bodies as living books, which perforce became a readable space.

Abstract:
My study of contemporary feminine poetry in canada is a survey of the problems inherent in the critical approach to the poetic text. Starting with a semantic definition of poetry, my aim was to give some "lectures de l'imaginaire". After a definition of "l'imaginaire", i considered the image in the poets' writing. A survey of contemporary poetry in canada, was followed by a symbolical interpretation of eight women poets. At the end of the study it appears that women poets instead of showing an "imaginaire schizophrene" are looking for unity, for a "structuration d'un imaginaire synthetique" which suggests the possibility of a specific feminine mythopoiesis

Thesis, Perpignan, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020PERP0021.

Abstract:
In Mauritania, the use of the word “Gender” as a concept is relatively recent even nascent. The word has entered the vocabulary through international institutions, and it still is reluctantly used by the scientific world. The scarcity of research in the field bears witness to this. It is probably for this reason, that gender as a social phenomenon remains confused at certain levels. The absence of a sociological definition has resulted in a cultural indifference and impeded any societal advance in thinking. The concept is still rather stereotyped because many people embrace it without truly understanding it. Therefore, there are so many meanings attached to it. This study examines the causes of disagreements and the best ways to resolves them. The many inquiries during this sociological review have resulted in a multidisciplinary approach focused on reflexivity on the one hand, on ethnological and ethnography on the other hand. Thus, the multiple inquiries involve the Socio-political dimension of the theme. Moreover, the term "Gender" as an analysis tool helps us understand Social interactions and advancements. Thus, it allows us to examine the reality of our society through the international context. Therefore, this theme outlines a better understanding of the concept of Gender. It also promotes the respect and protection of women's right especially in Mauritania, through a real social inclusion policy

Full text
Abstract:
The texts of Maria Velho da Costa and Teolinda Gersão are inhabited by landscapes, archetypes and self-reflexivity configured in margins, peripheral zones, that simultaneously unveil the central place occupied by the female subject. The matter of the first section of this work, the concept of landscape hinges on the ones of archetype [the archetypal relation] and of self-reflexivity - both being respectively dealt with in the second and in the third sections of this work - through a co-ordinate they share: space considered in these three aspects, the physical, the social and the mental. Landscapes appear in a physical margin in relation to the centre inhabited by the subject that builds them. Embodied by female characters, the archetypes of the Amazon, the Witch and the Madwoman emblematize these characters’ being excluded from the social circle as they are being pushed off to the periphery, whether it be the wilderness or the lunatic asy! lum. Situated in the margins of the text, “beside” the would-be content of the work, self-reflexivity turns out to be a marginal place with regard to the centre, traditionally held by the diegesis. This study aims at analysing configurations of landscapes, archetypes, archetypal relations and reflections on writing within fictions that, while possessing a peripheral and marginal dimension, still manage to paradoxically contribute to rendering female subjectivities and identity quests sought by the Authors and the female narrators and characters whose central vitality unsteadies dichotomies and binary oppositions

Abstract:
This work starts off with a simple hypothesis: suppose we remove the mental a priori that places Woman as a victim of History. Domination by an external power is one thing, power as a permanent story that produces and forms subjects is another. The idea here is to attempt a tendentially formal elaboration on the subject of subtraction of the victim's subjection from a perspective of the extraction of possibles in political matter. As experimental site of our hypothesis we chose readings of some classic texts and in particular those of three principal authors: Xenophon, Aristotle, and Plato. The invention of political economy is based in the concept of an utilitarian individual, plunged into the frozen waters of selfish calculation, whereas the economic unity of the ancient Greek thought is a collective subject, the oikos: this is the minimal entity according to which economy becomes a matter of thought. With regard to our situation where economy dominates everything and politics seem inexistent, we propose a visit to the ancient oikos, where the contemplation of economy is structured to serve the political condition. Our goal is not to produce a new political fiction, but to elaborate the conditions of the possibility of an emancipatory subjection based on a subtractive principle, and no longer based on an oppositional principle in reference to the typical figure of the slave. The theorem of "the woman in the oikos" is not about verifying an hypothesis, it's about applying and developing its consequences

Abstract:
Position little recognized by the post-Freudian theories, and which finds nevertheless today a new current events in a culture placing in the declineof the father the source of its faintness.« Who is the father? », « what to be father? », « what tell the father? ».... The father asks de facto a question which faces the subject in a reality, in an impossible to be said, while allowing him to spell. This work of thesis suggests, on one hand, showing how settles and develops the question of the father at Freud and Lacan. On the other hand, to seize again this question in its function of knotting of a « impossible to be told » and of a« possible to write », where from is going to unfold the clinical logic of the subject in dead end

Burchill, Louise. Paris 7, 1997. http://www.theses.fr/1997PA070019.

Abstract:
After a long introduction arguing that the notion of the "feminine" in contemporary french philosophical texts fulfills a specific philosophical function - namely, that of a schema in the kantian sense -, this thesis is divided into three parts. The first deals with plato's notion of the chora. Contrary to the interpretation of certain contemporary texts, posing the chora as a metaphysical hypostasis of democritean rythmos, i read this notion as the incipient conceptualization of a "spatium" or "exteriority" that not only thrawts ontological categories but confronts the french notion of difference (or differance) with its limit. . . And perhaps its necessary presupposition. The second part proposes a new interpretation of kant's "transcendental aesthetic", notably arguing that, for kant, space alone fulfills the ontological role attributed to pure intuition. This interpretation opens up a new understanding of transcendental schematism - and consequently, of the notion of difference/differance, given that kant's doctrine is, via heidegger, the most eminent influence on the french notion. The last section of this part develops a critique of the heideggerian interpretation and demonstrates the failure of heidegger's tentative to found pure intuition upon the imagination understood as pure temporality. The third part bears on the contemporary french philosophical project. It pays particular attention to both derrida's "repetition" of the heideggerian "auto-affection" and to his (successive) readings of the chora. Sustained analyses show the limitations of the new determination of a proto-temporal function, revealed as dependent upon a non-synthetic "spatiality", and argue derrida's rejection of the feminine/maternal connotations that plato ascribes to the chora to depend upon his "foreclusion" of an "outside" that proves irreducible to such a proto-temporal function

Abstract:
.<br>The thesis analyses the feminine and masculine representations in the book of Ruth by means of intertextual studies in part 1, and a detailed analysis of the Book of Ruth itself in part 2. The story of this encounter takes place at the heart of the struggle for daily survival. It is a narrative that is high in color with an interplay of seduction, taboos, tradition, and ethics that take place as the intrigue unfolds; References to well-know traditional characters provide a fresh perspective to several major texts of the Hebrew Bible in which solidarity and humanity play the major role. .

Abstract:

Abstract:
This book places the discourse surrounding stigmata within the visual culture of the late medieval and early modern periods, with a particular focus on Italy and on female stigmatics. Echoing, and to a certain extent recreating, the wounds and pain inflicted on Christ during his passion, stigmata stimulated controversy. Related to this were issues that were deeply rooted in contemporary visual culture such as how stigmata were described and performed and whether, or how, it was legitimate to represent stigmata in visual art. Because of the contested nature of stigmata and because stigmata did not always manifest in the same form - sometimes invisible, sometimes visible only periodically, sometimes miraculous, and sometimes self-inflicted - they provoked complex questions and reflections relating to the nature and purpose of visual representation. Dr Cordelia Warr is Senior Lecturer in Art History, University of Manchester, UK.

Abstract:
Public lectures on poetry caught the popular imagination in Britain in the first two decades of the nineteenth century with the performances of John Thelwall, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Thomas Campbell, and William Hazlitt. Lecturers aimed to shape auditors’ reading habits, burnish their critical profiles, and establish a literary canon, but auditors also wielded considerable influence, since their sustained approbation was necessary to a series’ success. A number of oral traditions fed the literary lecture’s development, but it emerged most vitally out of and against the radical speaking culture of the 1790s in which Thelwall and Coleridge had participated, and developed in anxious proximity to an expanding literary marketplace. These pressures informed lecturers’ critical arguments as they debated who should receive a literary education, what works they should read, and for what ends. As historical speaking performances, public lectures demand a methodological approach of their own, because lecturers communicated their arguments with words, physical gestures, facial expressions, and via self-presentation. An interdisciplinary scholarly consensus now recommends approaching these events by gathering as many surviving texts as possible from both parties and situating these performances in their specific times and places. Although women were disallowed from being public literary lecturers, female auditors performed significant cultural roles as patrons, and as hosts and guests at private gatherings that sometimes followed public lectures. Auditors including John Keats, Mary Russell Mitford, Lady Charlotte Bury, and Catherine Maria Fanshawe responded to lectures in conversation, poems, letters, and journal entries that should be considered creative works in their own right.

Owusu-Daaku, Frances. Playing Second Fiddle- Harmony Or Timidity?! Noyam Publishers, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.38159/npub.eb2021902.

Full text
Abstract:
In Playing Second Fiddle, Frances vividly narrates how as a female, one can still play a significant and fulfilling role as the sacrificial lamb or ‘second fiddle’ that can eventually open doors for other females to excel or succeed! Using many biblical examples, Frances shows how significant accomplishments occurred through many people who played second fiddle (cannon fodder) roles such as John the Baptist for Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world; Andrew for Peter who later became the ‘rock’ among the disciples of Jesus; or Barnabas for John Mark who became the author of the first gospel in the bible. In her life experience, she was the first visibly Christian Fellowship female to serve as a Hall President in Africa Hall, the only female and only student to complete a pioneering M.Sc. programme in Pharmaceutical Chemistry as well as the first established Ghanaian female lecturer in the then Faculty of Pharmacy (now Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences). Focusing on female leadership in KNUST and in the Pharmacy Profession, the author cites the instance of at least four females including her, (and myself) who were nominated for the post of Pro-Vice-Chancellor in KNUST, but none got elected for the position. Eventually, the next female nominated for the position after her turn was successfully elected and moved on to be elected as the Vice-Chancellor! Apparently, some people must act as sacrificial lambs or forerunners (cannon fodders) for the ultimate to be realized! Her experiences in the pharmacy profession also tell the same story: although the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has been in existence for about 85 years, no female has been elected President. The closest is the Vice-President position of which she was the first among the three that have so far been elected; with the hope that eventually a female president will one day emerge! The book concludes with some useful advice to all females who may aspire for leadership positions in the Ghanaian society: such as being assertive, but with decorum; working hard, encouraging and mentoring others, etc. in order to succeed.

Abstract:
AbstractsSeveral factors contribute to the alarmingly high youth unemployment rate in South Africa. Barriers such as lack of access to education and practical work experience reflect these statistics and the socio-economic implications of graduate unemployment. This qualitative case study investigated the perceptions of engineering students' academic resilience in the context of higher education by using a youth development approach. Semi-structured interviews were conducted online via Zoom with a sample consisting of 10 participants (aged 22–28 years), namely four Civil engineering students, four Electrical engineering students, and two Industrial engineering students. Six students were South African, whilst the remaining four were international students. Seven participants self-identified as male and three as female. Findings are discussed in terms of the three themes which emerged from the thematic analysis: (a) personal character strengths; (b) access to guidance, resources, and information and (c) a sense of belonging and social connection. This study focused on engineering education and developed a new interdisciplinary understanding of how entrepreneurship education may contribute to engineering students' academic resilience as a packaged support system that speaks to their psychosocial, educational and economic needs.

AbstractWomen were an important source of hadith, most notably Aisha, the Prophet’s wife. Female scholars of hadith and other Islamic “sciences” were aplenty and were well-respected for at least nine centuries. They travelled widely and held public lectures to students of mixed gender who would also travel far to hear them. But references to women scholars gradually began to disappear from the literature from the sixteenth century on.

Abstract:
Oral health is considered as important part of general health. Dental caries and periodon-tal diseases are among most prevalent diseases worldwide. According to WHO oral dis-eases affect nearly 3.5 billion people and untreated dental caries is the most common health condition. Young adults may neglect oral health. The aim of our study was to eval-uate oral health status (dental caries and periodontal diseases) among medical students at European University affiliated dental clinics in Georgia. Simple random sampling method was used. Assessment was conducted using modified WHO Oral Health Assessment Form (2013). Study sample were medical undergraduate students aged between 17 and 25 years at the European University - affiliated dental clinics, Tbilisi, Georgia. Level of dental caries was evaluated by assessment of decayed, missing, and filled teeth scores (DMFT in-dex), while periodontal status was assessed using Community Periodontal Index (CPI) modified index. Statistical analysis of data was performed. Results: Totally 225 students (150 males and 75 females) originally from Georgia, Jordan, Iran, Egypt, Great Britain and Sweden were included in the study. Mean age of participants was 20.7 years. Mean DMFT score in males was 3.11 and in females it was 3.25; overall mean DMFT was 3.18. Percentage of all individuals in two groups with dental caries (DFT ≥ 1) was 84%. Mean CPI index was 0.82 in males and 0.75 in females. Mean DMFT were compared to National estimates for DMFT index for same age group in developed coun-tries. Conclusion: Study showed medium prevalence of caries and low prevalence of periodontal diseases in participant students. Keywords: Oral health, DMFT index, CPI index

Abstract:
Abstract: Sagittal spinopelvic configuration and global alignment have previously been investi-gated in healthy children, adolescents, and adults to understand biomechanics or to guide fusion surgery. However, no studies were found in the literature assessing patients with structural hyperkyphosis (HK) from the perspective of global alignment and spinopelvic parameters. The research question is: How does structural HK affect spinopelvic parameters, global tilt(GT), global alignment, and proportion (GAP) score in skeletally immature adolescents? This was a retrospective analysis of prospectively col-lected data. Thirty-two structural HK patients(19 male, 13 female) with a mean age of 13.8 years and an initial curve magnitude between 55-75° were included in the study. Radiographic measurements including thoracic kyphosis(TK) angle, L1-S1 lumbar lordo-sis(LL) and L4-S1 lower arch lordosis angles, pelvic incidence, sacral slope, global tilt were measured from lateral spine radiographs by a blinded orthopedic spine surgeon at the first visit, and GAP score was calculated using these parameters. The mean TK was 59.5°, LL was 66.7°, and the mean GT was 7.2° at baseline. There was a correlation be-tween TK and LL, meaning that patients who have higher TK have also a higher degree of LL. There was also a correlation between PT and SS with the PI at baseline. Structural HK may affect pelvic development resulting in lower values of PI. Higher values of TK or thoracolumbar kyphosis may be sufficiently compensated by LL to maintain a neutral sagittal balance when PI has lower values. Clinicians should focus on global alignment to maintain the global sagittal balance rather than TK alone. Abstract:
Abstract: De Quervain’s tenosynovitis is an attritional and degenerative process. Pain results from resisted gliding of the abductor pollicis longus and the extensor pollicis brevis tendons in the fibro osseus canal. This review aims to evaluate the current literature surrounding evidence on physiotherapy approach for treating De Quervain's tenosyn-ovitis during and after pregnancy. One third of pregnant females are suffering from the pain in their wrist. Pain in the wrist is the third most common musculoskeletal pain during pregnancy after low back pain. Fluid retention, oedema, and repetitive forceful hand movements may cause stenosing tenosynovitis of the hand and wrist tendons. An overweight mother with her first pregnancy is at highest risk for developing De Quer-vain’s tenosynovitis. Treatment is aimed at reducing inflammation, preserving move-ment in the thumb and preventing reoccurrence. The symptoms should improve within four to six weeks. If non-invasive treatment is not successful, corticosteroid injections can be applied. De Quervain’s tenosynovitis has a good prognosis and non-surgical treatments are usually effective for pregnancy-related hand and wrist problems. Abstract:
The uptake of latent tuberculosis infection treatment (LTBI) is an important measure to prevent active tuberculosis (TB), but has not been well studied in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). The lifetime risk of developing active TB for people with LTBI is 10-15%. Within the national guidelines of National Tuberculosis control Program (NTP) 2020 in Georgia, 6 months isoniazid preventive treatment (IPT) was replaced with 3 months rifapentine treatment. Here we present the results of the care cascade of LTBI treatment of subjects to whom the Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) in Georgia was recommended. We performed a cohort-study during 2020-2021 in which we applied a mixed method recommended for TPT. We assessed active pulmonary TB cases to whom IPT was recommended and in cases not completing a tuberculosis preventive treatment, the respective reasons. Among 678-contactedsubjects, 54% were female and 46% were male. There was no age limit. Overall 164 participants initiated TPT, among them 107 completed the treatment. 72% from all participants were in close contact with TB-patients/ index cases and were living in the same household. 49% of index cases were positive to culture test (culture test involves studying bacteria by growing the bacteria on different substances) and 45% were Drug Sensitive Tuberculosis (DST) positive. 23 cases of index cases were MultiDrug-Resitant (MDR) TB patients. 95 (14%) participants were treated at the National Center for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, other participants were treated at other regions of Georgia (Kakheti, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Gori). From 22 chil-dren under 5 years of age who were recommended for the Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST), 2 were positive. Our findings highlight very low rates of LTBI treatment recommendation, initiation and completion in Georgia and hence the need for improved monitoring and treatment programs. Abstract:
Oral health is important issue in field of public health and can be negatively affected by psycho-emotional factors. Foreign medical students can be subjected to oral disease risk factors and therefore be in significant need for regular dental care, but there is a lack of in-formation how good students access the dental clinics. Study aimed to evaluate the acces-sibility to dental care for foreign medical students in Georgia. We conducted an online survey in duration of two weeks in October – November 2022. Study sample were medical undergraduate students, they answered 12 questions about frequency and type of dental visits, about availability and quality of dental care they received in Georgia. Overall from 270 medical undergraduate students aged between 18-45 years, 70% were male and 30% female. 70% were from Jordan, Iran - 15%, Egypt - 4%; Great Britain - 4%, France - 4% and Rwanda - 4%. In their countries 50% of students used to visit dental clinics every 6 months for regular check-up (70%); professional cleaning (31%) and dental pain (27%). 81.48% of interviewed students have never visited a dental clinic in Georgia. Among them who vis-ited, the purpose was check-up (65%) and dental pain (30%). For the source of information about dental clinics the students named internet (60%). Access to dental care was rated as medium (37.50%), while overall satisfaction was rated as normal (47.62%). The study showed very low rate of referral to the dentist. However, among those who visited the clin-ic, their evaluations were satisfactory. We can estimate the lack of information as an im-portant barrier for students. In addition, some students arrived in Georgia only a few months before the study started, so there might be no need to visit dentist in the time inter-val studied. Further research is needed to clearly identify possible barriers for dental care for medical students. Keywords: Oral health; Dental care; Accessibility of dental care; Medical students
