Studies in environmental psychology demonstrate that the attributes of a room influence individuals within that environment referred to as the ‘Product Effect’ approached and was utilised to assess if the online background setting influences the perceptions of female hijab and female non-hijab lecturers during online teaching amongst Malaysian public universities. In this study, 520 questionnaires were distributed via an online survey. Female lecturers model serves as subjects in the study, which uses online interior class background effects as a stimulus. The survey questions were mostly based on the Times Higher Education – QS World Universities Rankings assessment criteria, which include four themes: research and citation quality, teaching quality, industry revenue, and worldwide orientation. The data will be analysed using multivariate analysis of variance in SPSS software. Results demonstrate that gender is the factor among the two academicians with online background settings between female lecturers and female lecturers with hijabs in Malaysian Public Universities during online teaching. In addition, research demonstrated that students’ perceptions of female lecturers were the same whether they wore or did not wear a headscarf. Furthermore, these results potentially provide new knowledge to the field of environmental psychology, especially for academic attire or appearances during online teaching. Aside from that, this study will promote a better education online platform to satisfy the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015-2025 for Higher Education and improve lecturer professionalism during online teaching to attain quality education through SDGs. The present approach of Room-Product-Effect may be used for the virtual interior room effect in the field of online environmental psychology.

Abstract:
This study examines the Differential Item Functioning (DIF) of examination papers in core educational courses offered by undergraduates in a public university in Ghana, focusing on gender and lecturing experience and their implications for assessment standards. A The study is underpinned by the measurement invariance theory that posits that test items should measure the same construct across different groups in the same way. Cross-sectional research design was employed, with 872 students sampled out of 5221 across six departments. Item analysis and DIF evaluation were conducted using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and item response theory (IRT) models. Results revealed variability in item difficulty, discrimination, and response patterns, with 40% of items classified as moderately difficult and 20% as very difficult. Item discrimination was generally robust, though a few items displayed poor discrimination, necessitating revision. The analysis revealed no statistically significant difference in differential item functioning (DIF) scores between male and female students. Male students had a mean DIF score of 115.03 (SD = 263.41), while female students had a mean DIF score of 113.67 (SD = 259.14). The t-test results, t(866) = 0.072, p = 0.943, indicate that the observed differences were not statistically significant. However, lecturer experience was found to have a significant impact on students' DIF scores. Students taught by experienced lecturers had a mean score of 149.56 (SD = 353.80), compared to a mean score of 74.02 (SD = 4.66) for those taught by inexperienced lecturers. The t-test results, t(465.19) = 4.61, p < 0.000, confirmed a statistically significant difference, with a mean difference of 75.54 and a 95% confidence interval ranging from 40.99 to 110.09. These findings suggest that lecturer experience plays a crucial role in influencing DIF scores. These findings underscore the importance of aligning test items with instructional objectives, enhancing lecturer training, and refining test designs to mitigate biases. It is recommended that the university should implement routine DIF analyses to proactively identify and rectify biased test items. This practice will help maintain fairness and equity in educational assessments across different demographic groups. Given the significant impact of lecturer experience on student performance, the institution should invest in continuous professional development programmes for faculty. Training should focus on effective teaching strategies, assessment design, and student engagement. The study contributes to the literature on test fairness and equity in higher education, emphasizing the need for ongoing assessment improvements and expanded research to address limitations related to sample diversity and contextual generalizability.

Abstract:
This study aims to determine how much influence work-life balance has on work engagement for women in dealing with the world of education in the digital era. Technological developments in the digital era in today's world of education encourage them to develop their ability to operate digital systems both in communicating, teaching and learning and using applications to support the tri dharma task of higher education. The demands of work duties and responsibilities are a challenge for lecturers to do many things in daily life in a balanced way. Especially as a female lecturer who is also responsible for taking care of household activities. In addition, lecturers as human resources in universities are also a source of lessons to be responsible for the development and quality of universities as their organizations. This requires lecturers to be heavily involved in the administration and activities set by the institution. The involvement of lecturers makes the higher education system run smoothly and creates a satisfactory quality of higher education. With a balance between work and life, it is hoped that female lecturers can be more involved in all matters so that the tasks and responsibilities of the organization can be achieved. Measurements were carried out on 200 respondents using the Urtretch Work Engagement Scale and the work life balance scale. The results show that there is a positive and significant effect of work life balance on work engagement on female lecturers, which is 87.1%

Abstract:
Objectives: This study aims to examine the influence of work-family conflict (WFC) and self-efficacy on the psychological well-being and performance of female lecturers in Bandung. It also explores the mediating role of psychological well-being in these relationships to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these factors interact to affect the productivity of female lecturers.Methodology: This quantitative study used a survey and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS 4 to examine relationships between WFC, self-efficacy, psychological well-being, and performance. WFC and self-efficacy were the exogenous variables, psychological well-being was the mediator, and performance was the endogenous variable. A sample of 140 married female lecturers from West Java and Banten with at least three years of experience was selected using purposive and accidental sampling.Findings: Work-family conflict (WFC) negatively affects both psychological well-being and performance, while self-efficacy positively influences both. Psychological well-being significantly enhances performance and partially mediates the effects of WFC and self-efficacy on performance, with mediation effects of 32.27% and 26.67%, respectively. Conclusion: This research highlights the importance of addressing work-family conflict and fostering self-efficacy to enhance psychological well-being and performance among female lecturers. Institutions can improve lecturer performance by supporting mental health initiatives and helping lecturers manage WFC. Additionally, increasing self-efficacy through confidence-building programs can contribute significantly to both psychological well-being and productivity. This study fills gaps in previous research by offering a nuanced understanding of the mediating role of psychological well-being in the academic context, particularly for female lecturers balancing work and family responsibilities

Abstract:
Supporting the academic career progression of female lecturers has a positive impact on gender equality within society because universities play a big role in shaping society and building active citizens based on the fact many people who take up powerful roles in society have a background in higher education. It can also enhance their participation in higher education leadership because leadership qualities and potential in higher education are tied to academic rank. However, there is a low academic career progression of female lecturers at Kyambogo University. This qualitative study set out to examine the support strategies employed by the Kyambogo University of Uganda to advance the academic career progression of female lecturers. The study was positioned within an interpretative paradigm and employed a phenomenological approach to uncover the female academics’ experiences. Both semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis data generation strategies were used in this study. In semi-structured interviews, a sample comprising eight female academics with not less than five years at the rank of a lecturer at Kyambogo University were selected, while documents such as the Human Resources Manual which enshrines the policy that guides the promotion of staff in the university and the Gender Policy were analysed. Data were thematically analysed according to phenomenological analysis such as strategies bracketing, clustering into themes, textual description, structural description, and textual-structural essence of the study. The findings which emerged from the study indicate that though the university has some support measures in place, the majority of female academics at Kyambogo University regard the available support strategies as inadequate for instance, most of them have inadequate skills in academic writing, there is inadequate funding of female academics, gender neutral promotional policies, unsatisfactory work environment and scarcity of workshops. The findings further indicate limited women’s academic networks and inadequate mentorship collaboration among academics as the key factors that hamper female lecturers’ academic career progression. The study recommends, among others, academic writing training, adequate funding, and redesigning promotion policies to suit female academic progression.

Abstract:
This research aimed at investigating the male and female students’ preferences on the six types of Oral Corrective Feedback (OCF). This qualitative research used observation and interview to collect data. The observation was done to know the practice of the six types of OCF in speaking class and the interview was conducted to reveal the students’ preferences for OCF. The result from the observation shows that the lecturer mostly uses Explicit Correction to correct the students’ error. Then, the result from the interview indicates that male students prefer to have Explicit Correction because this type is the easiest type to know the error and correction clearly. Whereas the female students prefer to have Recast and Metalinguistic Feedback because Recast does not encourage them and Metalinguistic Feedback can make them think critically under the lecturer’s clue. Subsequently, both male and female students perceive Clarification Request and Repetition as the ambiguous type to grasp what the lecturer’s mean. The result of this current research is expected to provide an additional information about the practice of OCF strategies in speaking classroom which is appropriate with the students’ preferences.

Abstract:
Today, the development of Indonesian literature has undergone many changes, marked by the birth of female authors who present various ideas about the world of women. The world of women described by female authors does not only tell women in the domestic sphere of women but also women in the public sphere. One of them is Gitlicious in his work entitled My Lecturer My Husband. This study examines the actualization of women in the novel My Lecturer My Husband by Gitlicious by relying on the formulation proposed by Betty Friedan. This type of qualitative descriptive research uses documentation techniques and literature study as data collection methods. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the interactive data analysis technique, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The study's results prove that the actualization of women depicted in the novel My Lecturer My Husband shows the flexibility of women's roles in the public sphere. However, it does not exceed the position of men in terms of work and intelligence. Women are imaged as if they have succeeded in getting out of the domestic and public spheres so that women are aware of and reposition themselves into the domestic sphere.

Abstract:
This research describes the use of NaturalReader in teaching listening TOEFL. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The analysis shows that NaturalReader is an AI-powered free text-to-speech service online which helps teachers/lecturers to teach English. In teaching English, especially listening to TOEFL, an English lecturer in ITB AAS Indonesia uses face-to-face learning combined with Zoom and Live YouTube streaming. The lecturer uses NaturalReader Text-to-Speech (TTS) in teaching listening TOEFL including Part A (short dialogue), Part B (long dialogue), and Part C (monologue). The lecturer opens the NaturalReader application, then clicks the + icon to input the words, phrases, or sentences that she/he wants to listen to the audio with their pronunciation. NaturalReader offers female and male voices and variation accents for both free and paid users. This software is capable of converting text into sound in multiple languages, including English with diverse accents, such as British or American. In teaching listening TOEFL, pronunciation especially accent cannot be separated from listening. Abstract:
Long-distance marriage has several risks, but some couples decide to undergo this condition for various reasons, one of which is their work career. This research aims to look at employee engagement among female lecturers in long-distance marriages by using social support as a predictor and religiosity as a mediator. This research uses a quantitative approach with a simple mediation analysis. The population in this study were female lecturers who were in long-distance marriages for at least one-year. There were 54 participants in this study using total sampling who had undergone a long-distance marriage. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a Likert scale containing four answer choices. The instruments in this study used adaptations of the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Centrality of Religious Scale (CRS) and Employee Engagement Scale (EES). Data were analyzed using regression analysis. Meanwhile, the research results show a direct effect of social support on employee engagement and the influence of religiosity on employee engagement. These results show that religiosity is a partial mediator of employee engagement. This study suggests that female lecturer who undergoes a long-distance marriage can reach their best career when they get support from any circle she has and upgrade their religiosity. This study also showed if religiosity could have an effect on increasing employee engagement as a responsibility for the job.

Abstract:
The era of technological disruption not only has an effect on changes in the business cycle, but also has an impact on the world of education. The world of education today also demands the ability to equip students with 21st century skills. These skills are the skills of learners who are able to think critically and solve problems, creatively, and innovatively, communication and collaboration skills. In the industrial era 4.0, universities are required to be able to overcome the turmoil of changes that occur due to digital transformation. Lecturers in the industrial era are required to have qualifications and competencies that can compete and survive in the turmoil of the industrial era 4.0. The purpose of this study was to determine how students perceive the competence of lecturers in the era of industrial disruption 4.0. The research method used in this research is quantitative research method with survey type. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire made through Google Forms. The sample of this study were 53 students of the Kerinci State Islamic Institute who were grouped by gender, namely 37 people (69.8%) were female and 16 people (30.2%) were male. Based on the results of the study, students were of the opinion that lecturers should be expressive and fun in teaching mathematics, lecturers should use online media to increase learning resources, lecturers should care about students and be helpful, lecturers should use language that is easy to understand, lecturers should not be rigid, lecturers should be formal and informal, lecturers should have good IT skills, lecturers in class should intersperse time with humor, lecturers should provide illustrations of theory in real and relevant forms, and ask students to use ICT in the learning process. Some of the obstacles that lecturers may face in implementing lecturer competencies in the era of industrial disruption 4.0 are lack of access and mastery of technology, lack of support from the university, and lack of awareness of the importance of lecturer competencies that are relevant to technological developments. Lecturers may also find it difficult to adapt the material taught to the rapid development of technology. To overcome these obstacles, lecturers need to be given support and training to improve their mastery of technology, as well as encouragement to continue developing their competencies.

Abstract:
Pragmatic competence, as an essential part of communicative competence, plays a vital role in people’s daily communication, especially cross-cultural communication. This study aims to investigate Chinese EFL undergraduates’ pragmatic competence in English letter writing according to gender and faculty, and explore four EFL lecturers’ perceptions on pragmatic competence, problems faced by their students and methods used by lecturers in teaching English letter writing. This research is a descriptive research design using QUAN-QUAL model. A letter writing test was employed as one research instrument. Stratified random sampling was adopted to select 450 samples (225 males and 225 females) from three faculties (150 from Chinese Language Faculty, 150 from Management Faculty, and 150 from Education Faculty) in Nanfang College, Guangzhou and Hunan City University. In the real study, students’ writing was graded by one lecturer based on the scoring rubric adapted from Chen’s scoring rubrics for pragmatic competence and IELTS writing scoring rubric in which 5 components were included: choice of vocabulary, grammar, syntax, organization, mechanics. The results of the letter writing test indicated that female students’ pragmatic competence was better than male students’, and the pragmatic competence of students from social science faculty (Chinese Language Faculty and Management Faculty) was better than those from natural science faculty (Education Faculty). Lecturers considered it necessary to teach pragmatic competence in class though only a small proportion of lecturers did it. It is suggested that some teaching approaches such as process approach, modeled writing, revise after writing could be used in class so that students’ motivation is stimulated and better learning results could be achieved.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to explore students' activities and perceptions in carrying out online lectures through the WhatsApp Group application, Google Classroom, and Zoom and finding effective ways to study during the COVID-19 outbreak. This study was expected to identify the readiness of students to follow online lectures and find effective ways to study as well as being the basis for higher education institutions to establish policies for implementing online lectures. The researcher used a qualitative study. The participants were the 33 EFL students of the English Department both male and female who joined the Essential Writing Class. The researcher used convenience sampling which invited subjects to participate. The instruments used in this research were a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. Data analysis used was thematic coding. The results show that most students were ready to study online. They only focused on the material. However, they did not pay attention to the way they learned; that was online learning. There are three aspects involved to make the class more effective; they are the lecturer, the students, and the media. These three aspects must work together to create effective online courses. Abstract:
The Café-Concert as an object of study has tended to attract the interest of art rather than theatre historians, despite the fact that it was the major form of popular entertainment in France during the nineteenth century. Similar but not identical to the English music hall of the same period, the Café-Concert produced a number of stars of national importance, a large majority of whom were women. Through the writings of journalists and commentators of the period, this article explores how these female performers were perceived and constructed as objects of the public gaze. The author, Geraldine Harris, is a Lecturer in Theatre Studies at the University of Lancaster, with interests in both popular and feminist theatre.
