The people of Lambung Bukik Village, Pauh Subdistrict, Padang City, mostly work on horticultural crops, secondary crops, raising cattle, and chickens. Agriculture in this area uses mostly inorganic fertilizers and organic fertilizers. This results in the high need for farmers for inorganic fertilizers. The activity's objectives are 1. to obtain an organic production module by utilizing horticultural agricultural waste, secondary crops, and cow dung, 2. analyzing the organic fertilizer content, 3). obtain organic fertilizer containing high nutrient elements and 4. obtain organic fertilizer deri

Organic fertilizers may be alternatives to inorganic sources for improved pasture productivity. This research investigated the comparative performance of Pennisetum purpureum pasture as affected by use of organic and inorganic fertilizer types and sampled at different ages during the wet season. The study was a factorial experimental arrangement (4 x 3) laid out as split plot design with six replicates. The two factors were fertilizer type (control-no fertilizer, Urea, Poultry droppings and cow dung) and harvesting age (60, 90 and 120 days). Fertilizer application was at the rate of 300 kg/ha

This research aims to elucidate farmers’ thoughts about the revocation of fertilizer subsidies, explore the rational actions behind their decision to deal with the fertilizer shortage due to the costly prices and develop actionable plans to support farmers regarding subsidized fertilizer revocation. The results show that farmers understand the policy of fertilizer subsidy revocation as a form of the government’s workload. Since farmers think that the government pays little attention, they hope it will change its fertilizer subsidy policy. Demography-wise, older farmers are still hoping for fer

The use of organic and mineral fertilizers and the cultivation of perennial leguminous grasses increased the humus content by 0,8-1,3%. The application of compost at a dose of 150 t/ha increased the humus content by 0,3%, the yield of barley – by 1,4 t/ha, and annual grasses – by 3,3 t/ha. The combined use of liquid organic fertilizer with UAN contributed to an increase in the content of soil organic matter in the fertilizer application zone by 2%, and the yield of spring wheat under drought conditions by 1,3 t/ha.

Triticale (×Triticosecale Wittmack) is a promising cereal crop that has a number of economically valuable properties that are absent in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The research was conducted at Uman National University of Horticulture (Ukraine) in a long-term stationary experiment, founded in 1964. The aim of the work was to study the influence of long-term application of different fertilizer systems (mineral, organic and organo-mineral) on the yield and grain quality of spring triticale. It has been established that in the conditions of high air temperature and soil moisture deficit, minera

Abstract:
Modern conventional agriculture has relied heavily on inorganic fertilizers to achieve higher crop yields. However, concerns have arisen regarding its ecological and economic sustainability due to its impact on soil health, pollutants off-site, and recent surges in fertilizer prices. This paper reports on a rapid appraisal of the current state and potential expansion of organic fertilizer utilization and availability in the Philippines. The study finds that combining inorganic and organic-based fertilizers allows for a balanced realization of the advantages of each type. Government policies an

The excessive use of chemical fertilizers in Nepalese agriculture threatens crop production and environmental health, adversely impacting soil, water quality, and human health. In this context, vermiwash emerges as an effective, cost-efficient, and organic alternative. Derived from the interaction of water with earthworms and organic waste, vermiwash serves as a nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer that enhances soil health, promotes plant growth, and boosts crop yields. The process of making vermiwash involves a double filtration system, where organic materials, cattle dung, and earthworms are use

Instead of lysimeters we used pots (Israel) and one- liter cone-tainers (USA). Abstract:
A major goal in Israeli and U.S. agroecosystems is to maximize nitrogen availability to crops while minimizing nitrogen losses to air and water resources. This goal has presented a significant challenge to global agronomists and scientists because crops require large inputs of nitrogen (N) fertilizer to maximize yield, but N fertilizers are easily lost to surrounding ecosystems where they contribute to water pollution and greenhouse gas concentrations. Determination of the optimum N fertilizer input is complex because the amount of N produced from soil organic matter varies with time, space an

This research report investigates the practice of stubble burning in Munshiganj, Bangladesh, examining its causes, impacts, and potential alternatives. Although stubble burning is a traditional practice, it remains a prevalent method used by farmers for land fertility, potash supplementation, insect control, and cost management. However, this practice contributes to air and environmental pollution and poses public health risks, particularly for children. The report presents alternative uses for stubble, such as organic fertilizer and cooking fuel, and proposes policy measures to regulate the p

Although nitrate fertilizers are critical for enhancing crop production, excess application of nitrate fertilizer can result in ground water contamination leading to the so called "nitrate problem". Health and environmental problems related to this "nitrate problem" have led to serious concerns in many parts of the world including the United States and Israel. These concerns have resulted in legislation limiting the amount of nitrate N in drinking water to 10mg/g. Development of a fast, reliable, nitrate sensor for in-situ application can be extremely useful in dynamic monitoring of environmen

Abstract:
In this study we have investigated the role of biogas solutions to support increased resource efficiency on the island Gotland, including recovery and redistribution of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) within the agricultural sector. First, we analyzed the potential for expanding energy and nutrient recovery from organic residues using biogas solutions. Our findings suggest that the biogas production could expand to 165 GWh, from the current 36 GWh (2020), with manure accounting for a potential 110 GWh biogas annually if all were digested.
