Abstract:
Die Lotzdorfer Schule und der 2015 durch Brandanschlag zerstörte Lotzdorfer Gasthof nahmen im dörflichen Leben immer eine zentrale Stellung ein. Jubiläen der Schule waren Anlass zu Heimatfesten, Festumzügen, Volksfesten und waren auch für die Dorf-Entwicklung und Dorfgemeinschaft wichtig. Bereits die historischen Schulen als Vorläufer der heutigen Ludwig-Richter-Schule Lotzdorf waren immer Ausgangspunkt vielfältiger Aktionen. Die hiermit vorgestellte Chronik der Schulfeste und Ereignisse mit vielen Fotodokumenten, spiegelt eine Dorfgemeinschaft wider, die mit bewunderungswürdigen Aktionen immer wieder ihr Dorf auf hohem Niveau feierte, auch über die sogenannte „Wendezeit“ nach 1989 hinaus. Es ist Tradition geblieben, dass sich bis heute, zu gemeinsamen Klassentreffen der gesamten Schule, die Schüler aller Jahrgänge zu einem großen Fest vereinen und auch von überall her an ihre einstige Schule, in ihr Dorf kommen.

TCP-feste Handgelenke dienen der Orientierung eines Werkzeuges an Portalmaschinen. Zum Einsatz kommen sie unter anderem im Bereich "Thermisches Schneiden", wenn Fasenschneiden an Blechen oder die Anarbeitung von räumlichen Konturen an Stahlrohren oder Hohlprofilen gewünscht ist. Kinematisch grenzen sie sich durch die mechanische Entkopplung zwischen Positionierung und Orientierung des Werkzeuges von anderen Maschinenstrukturen ab. Der folgende Pro/Engineer Anwendervortrag umfasst das Erstellen einer Animation mit Pro/E Mechanismen zur Darstellung der Funktionsweise eines TCP-festen Handgelenkes. Außerdem wird die Kalibrierung dieses Handgelenkes an Hand einer Animation gezeigt, welche mit Pro/E DAO (Design Animation Option) erstellt wurde.

Abstract:
La découverte en 2008 des supraconducteurs à base de fer a ouvert un nouveau champ d'investigation de la supraconductivité à haute température critique. En particulier, la phase nématique de ces matériaux pourrait jouer un rôle prépondérant dans le mécanisme de la supraconductivité. Nous avons étudié le composé FeSe par spectroscopie Raman, à pression ambiante et sous pression hydrostatique. Celui-ci ne possède pas d'ordre magnétique statique à pression ambiante, ce qui en fait un composé de choix pour l'étude de l'ordre nématique. Nous avons observé les fluctuations nématiques de charge. Leur évolution dans la phase tétragonale prouve l'existence d'une instabilité nématique d'origine électronique, qui gouverne la transition structurale. Dans la phase orthorhombique, le comportement des phonons souligne le rôle du couplage spin-phonon dans la transition nématique. Par ailleurs, la forme de la réponse Raman supraconductrice est compatible avec l'existence de deux gaps de symétrie s, dont un est anisotrope. Sous pression hydrostatique, les fluctuations nématiques s'atténuent rapidement. Le point critique quantique électronique associé se situe à très basse pression, peu avant l'apparition de l'ordre magnétique. Les fluctuations nématiques disparaissent complètement vers 2 GPa, quand la transition structurale passe de second ordre à premier ordre. C'est également proche de cette pression que se produit une anomalie dans le comportement des phonons, qui indique une modification de la structure électronique du système. Nos mesures révèlent en outre l'existence d'un pseudogap. Sa température d'apparition chute simultanément à la disparition de la phase magnétique, quand la température critique de supraconductivité atteint son maximum. Enfin, la réponse Raman de l'état supraconducteur à 7.8 GPa montre une signature claire d'un gap plein
The discovery in 2008 of the iron-based superconductors opened a new field of investigation of high-temperature superconductivity. In particular, the nematic phase of these materials may play a major role in the mecanism of superconductivity. We studied the FeSe compound using Raman spectroscopy, at ambient pressure and under hydrostatic pressure. This material does not display any static magnetic order at ambient pressure and is therefore an excellent choice to study the nematic order. We observed the charge nematic fluctuations. Their evolution in the tetragonal phase proves the existence of an electronic nematic instability, which drives the structural transition. In the orthorhombic phase, the behaviour of the phonons underlines the role of the spin-phonon coupling in the nematic transition. Besides, the shape of the superconducting Raman response is compatible with the existence of two s-wave gaps, one of which is anisotropic. Under hydrostatic pressure, the nematic fluctuations reduce rapidly. The associated electronic quantum critical point is situated at very low pressure, just before the appearance of magnetic order. The nematic fluctuations completely disappear around 2 GPa, when the structural transition changes from second order to first order. An anomaly of the phonons also occurs close to this pressure, which indicates a modification of the electronic structure of the system. Our measurements additionally reveal the existence of a pseudogap. Its temperature of appearance reduces significantly simultaneously to the disappearance of magnetic order, when the critical temperature of superconductivity reaches its maximum. Finally, the Raman response in the superconducting state at 7.8 GPa shows a clear signature of a full gap

Abstract:
In this thesis, the microwave electrodynamic properties of stoichiometric FeSe are measured by a cavity perturbation technique based on a 940 MHz loop-gap resonator. Measurements surprisingly show, for the first time, that c-axis conductivity in stoichiometric FeSe superconductors exhibits a broad peak in its temperature-dependence, a phenomenon which was only observed for in-plane electrodynamics in the cuprates. This result implies that the charge transfer between FeSe-planes is enhanced by the development of long transport quasiparticle lifetimes below Tc.

Abstract:
Twelfth Night does not end with the acceptance and consummation of these “alternative couples.” Instead, the reveal of the twins has a clarifying effect and the characters are returned to the partner who is considered socially acceptable. The final relationships are heterosexual matches that do not stray from class or any other societal confines. Indeed, the story serves to reinforce common standards equating alternative love with madness and proper love with lucidity. Standing outside of the couplings are only bachelor men: Antonio, Sir Andrew, Feste and Orsino’s pages. In effect, these men are desexualized without romantic counterparts. While they are deemed outcasts in Illyria, one character in particular stands to gain from this seeming lack of sexuality and outsider status: the clown, Feste. Gender and power find clarification through the character of Feste because he is afforded all of the privileges of a male in a patriarchal society and in order to analyze him, his positionality within the function and structure of the story must be acknowledged. Usually the character of Viola holds this position in scholarship, but the possibility of Feste played by a female actor introduces similar themes of cross-gender disguise while decoding the heteronormative standards reinforced by the conclusion of the play.

Abstract:
La supraconductivité non-conventionnelle a récemment été observée à proximité d'un point critique induit sous pression dans CePt$_2$In$_7$ et dans FeSe. Le premier est un fermion lourd tandis que le deuxième fait parti de la famille des supraconducteurs à base de Fer. Cette thèse a pour objectif de contribuer à la compréhension de ces systèmes à électrons fortement corrélés en étudiant les évolutions des structures cristallographiques et magnétiques, ainsi que les surfaces de Fermi sous conditions extrêmes.Tout d'abord, nous présentons une étude de diffraction de neutrons dans la phase magnétique de CePt$_2$In$_7$. Une seule structure magnétique, avec comme vecteur de propagation $textbf{Q} = (0.5,0.5,0.5)$ et $0.45~mu_B$ par atome de Cérium à 2 K, a été détectée en dessous de $T_N = 5.5$ K.Ensuite, des mesures de torque sous champ pulsé de CePt$_2$In$_7$ ne montrent aucun changement des surfaces de Fermi jusqu'à 70 T, bien au-dessus du point critique quantique induit sous champ, attendu à $55-60$ T selon la littérature. Cependant, ces mesures révèlent une claire anomalie métamagnétique à 47 T, très peu dépendante de la température et de l'orientation du champ ainsi qu'une chute des masses effectives vers 50 T. Nous suggérons que ces deux derniers éléments sont la manifestation d'un changement de valence des atomes de Ce de l'ordre de 0.06 électron par atomes de Cérium.L'étude des surfaces de Fermi de CePt$_2$In$_7$ sous pression a nécessité un développement instrumental à partir d'un circuit résonant à base d'une diode tunnel, combinée avec une cellule de pression de type Bridgman. Nous montrons qu'il est tout à fait possible de sonder les surfaces de Fermi à la fois sous champ magnétique et sous pression avec cette technique. Cependant, la fragilité du système résonnant nous amène à considérer des améliorations en vue de fiabiliser la mesure.Enfin, nous analysons une expérience de diffraction de rayons X sur un échantillon de FeSe sous pression hydrostatique. A 20 K, nous quantifions un durcissement de l'axe cristallographique $c$ qui s'opère à 1.9 GPa. A 50 K, outre le passage d'une maille orthorhombique à tétragonale à 1 GPa, nous mettons en évidence qu'une symétrie monoclinique s'installe à partir de 2 GPa, où, selon la littérature, une phase antiferromagnétique apparaît
Unconventional superconductivity was recently observed in the vicinity of a pressure-induced quantum critical point in CePt$_2$In$_7$ and FeSe. The former is a heavy fermion compound, while the latter is an iron-based superconductor. This PhD thesis aims at improving our understanding of the physics of these newly discovered strongly correlated electron systems. This is achieved by experimental investigation of the evolution of crystal and magnetic structures, as well as of the Fermi surfaces under extreme conditions of high magnetic fields, high pressure, and low temperatures.We have investigated the magnetic structure of CePt$_2$In$_7$ by neutron diffraction. We observed only one magnetic propagation vector $textbf{Q} = (0.5, 0.5, 0.5)$ below $T_N = 5.5$ K. The magnetic moment is estimated at $0.45~mu_B$ per cerium atom at 2 K.Our torque measurements on CePt$_2$In$_7$ in pulsed fields suggest that the Fermi surfaces remain unchanged up to 70 T. This is well above the field-induced quantum critical point, which is expected to occur at $55-60$ T according to previous studies. However, a clear metamagnetic-like anomaly is found at 47 T. The anomaly is almost temperature and field-angle independent. Furthermore, a sudden drop of the effective mass is observed at about the same field. We suggest that the last two observations are most naturally accounted for by a valence crossover, where the cerium valence changes by about 0.06, the order of magnitude expected in Ce-based compounds.In order to study the Fermi surfaces of CePt$_2$In$_7$ under pressure, we developed a tunnel diode oscillator combined with a Bridgman-type pressure cell. We have demonstrated that this set-up is suitable for measuring quantum oscillations both at high magnetic fields and under high pressure. However, the working conditions of the oscillator have to be improved in order to obtain a more reliable system.Finally, we performed an X-ray diffraction experiment on FeSe under hydrostatic pressure. At 20 K, we found a change of the bulk modulus along the $c$ axis at 1.9 GPa. At 50 K, the orthorhombic to tetragonal crystallographic phase transition occurs at 1 GPa. We found evidences that this is followed by the emergence of a monoclinic symmetry above 2 GPa, where an antiferromagnetic phase was previously reported

Abstract:
Since their discovery in 2006, iron-based superconductors have attracted much of the interest of the scientific community and have been the object of intense studies using state-of-the-art techniques. Strain measurements represent a modern technique which may play an important role in unveiling new electronic features and understanding high temperature superconductivity. This thesis presents experimental results obtained by investigating the electronic behaviour of a FeSe single crystal under uniaxial applied strain. In the first chapters, I will be presenting the basic characteristics of iron-based superconductors and recent experimental studies under strain on other superconductors. Then, I will introduce the apparatus and the experimental methods used to collect the experimental data. I performed a series of transport measurements of a single crystal FeSe across a large temperature regime without and with uniaxial applied strain. My results indicate that FeSe under applied uniaxial strain shows three different temperature regimes. Firstly, at high temperature the resistivity increases with increasing strain, followed by an opposite variation of the resistivity slope under strain below 70 K in the nematic state. At low temperature, the slope is again positive and no strain variation is seen at a unique temperature, which resembles the critical temperature of superconductivity. This study found the superconducting state is enhanced under compressive strain and suppressed under tensile strain. This experiment is one of the first studies conducted on FeSe single crystal under uniaxial strain. Further studies are needed to reproduce the observed measurements.

Le séléniure de fer, FeSe, est un matériau prometteur qui attire beaucoup d'attention depuis qu'il a décroché le record de la température critique la plus élevée chez les supraconducteurs à base fer. L'absence d'une phase magnétique à proximité de sa phase supraconductrice cause un questionnement sur la nature du mécanisme d'appariement des électrons dans ce supraconducteur. La symétrie avec laquelle ce mécanisme opère peut être déterminée en identifiant la structure et la symétrie du gap supraconducteur du FeSe. Plusieurs études du gap ont été menées, mais elles n'ont pas permis d'arriver à un consensus. Certaines mesures détectent des noeuds dans le gap supraconducteur tandis que d'autres rapportent un gap non nodal. L'incapacité à réconcilier les données existantes est en partie due au manque de mesures effectuées sur des monocristaux propres étant capables de résoudre des excitations à très basse énergie. Ce mémoire présente une étude du gap supraconducteur du FeSe utilisant la mesure de la conductivité thermique dans la limite où la température tend vers zéro comme sonde. Dans ce régime de température, il a été possible d'examiner les excitations à très faible énergie de l'état supraconducteur à l'aide d'un champ magnétique finement ajusté. De cette manière, un portrait très détaillé de la dispersion en énergie des quasiparticules a été dressé. Nous ne détectons pas de quasiparticules à énergie nulle et excluons donc la présence de noeuds sur le gap supraconducteur. Nous observons un comportement de supraconducteur à deux bandes, suggérant que les deux poches de la surface de Fermi ont des gaps différents dont les amplitudes diffèrent par un facteur 10. De plus, la grandeur du plus petit de ces deux gaps varie lorsque le niveau de désordre du matériau change, ce qui suggère que le petit gap est anisotrope. Cette dernière observation permet de réconcilier les études antérieures puisqu'une anisotropie du gap peut engendrer des noeuds accidentels sur le gap si le niveau de désordre du matériau est suffisament bas. Quelques études très récentes, parues en même temps que les résultats présentés ici, corroborent le scénario proposé et sont présentées à la fin du mémoire.

Die Synoviauntersuchung ist von großer Bedeutung für die Diagnose, Verlaufskontrolle und Prognose von Gelenkerkrankungen und aufgrund des häufigen Auftretens von Gelenkproblemen beim Pferd von großer Relevanz für die Pferdepraxis und von ökonomischer Bedeutung für den Pferdebesitzer. Ein großes Problem für die Synoviadiagnostik stellt die Tatsache dar, dass in der Literatur sehr uneinheitliche Normwerte angegeben werden, die zudem meist nicht für die einzelnen Gelenke differenziert aufgeführt werden. Insbesondere über die Zusammensetzung der Gelenkflüssigkeit der Huf- und Krongelenke ist noch sehr wenig bekannt, da es bei diesen Gelenken schwierig ist, bei physiologischer Gelenkfüllung ausreichende Mengen an Untersuchungsmaterial zu gewinnen. Ein weiteres Problem stellt die Tatsache dar, dass die Bestimmungsmethoden und die Maßeinheiten nicht einheitlich sind, und daher die Vergleichbarkeit der Werte eingeschränkt wird. Aus diesem Grund war es Ziel dieser Arbeit, für einige der beim Pferd am häufigsten erkrankten Gelenke physiologische Befunde für einige makroskopische, biochemische und zelluläre Parameter aufzustellen, die laut Schrifttum eine gute Beurteilung des synovialen Systems erlauben. Des weiteren sollte die von HEILMANN 1984 für die Humanmedizin entwickelten Verdünnungsmethode zur Ermittlung des Synoviavolumens hinsichtlich ihrer Anwendbarkeit beim Pferd geprüft werden. Das Gelenkflüssigkeitsvolumen ist insofern von Bedeutung, als fast alle Gelenkerkrankungen mit einer Veränderung des Synoviavolumens einher gehen und weil bei bekanntem Gelenkflüssigkeitsvolumen die gewünschte Wirkstoffkonzentration bei intraartikulärer Applikation erzielt werden kann. Die Proben stammten von 39 Pferden und Ponys unterschiedlicher Größe (Stockmaß: 110-178 cm, Gewicht: 120-680 kg KG) und Rasse (22 Warmblutpferde, 12 Ponys und Kleinpferde, 4 Kaltblüter, 1 Vollblüter), verschiedenen Alters (9 Monate-20 Jahre) und Geschlechts (16 Stuten, 15 Wallache, 8 Hengste), die aus variierenden Gründen der Schlachtung zugeführt wurden. Einzige Voraussetzung für die Probanden war, dass sie bei der klinischen und anschließenden pathologischen Untersuchung keinen Hinweis auf eine Gelenkerkrankung zeigen durften. Untersucht wurden Vorderfußwurzel-Mittelgelenke (n = 78), Fessel- (n = 78), Kron- (n = 77) und Hufgelenke (n = 74) jeweils beider Vordergliedmaßen. Insgesamt gingen 307 Gelenke in die Messungen ein. Die Gelenkpunktate wurden adspektorisch (Farbe, Trübung, Beimengungen, Gerinnung, Fadenziehvermögen), biochemisch (Totalprotein, Albumin, Globulin, Albumin/Globulin-Verhältnis, Aktivität der alkalischen Phosphatase und der Laktatdehydrogenase, pH, Glucose, Lactat) und hinsichtlich des Differenzialzellbildes (Leukozyten, Monozyten/Makrophagen, Granulozyten, Synoviozyten) untersucht. Die Parameter wurden so zusammengestellt, dass sowohl entzündliche (einschließlich septische) als auch degenerative Gelenkerkrankungen erkannt werden können. Zusätzlich wurde das Synoviavolumen mittels des "Biochemischen Gelenkfunktionstests nach HEILMANN" bestimmt, wobei ein definiertes Volumen einer Markersubstanz (Hydroxyethylstärke (HES)-Lösung, 0,5 %) intraartikulär appliziert und das Synovia-HES-Gemisch nach einer Durchmischungsphase gewonnen wird. Über die Konzentrationsabnahme der Markersubstanz lässt sich dann das Synoviavolumen bestimmen und mittels des Verdünnungsfaktors die Konzentration der gewünschten Parameter berechnen. Die Untersuchung zeigte zum Teil deutliche Unterschiede zwischen den Mittelwerten der verschiedenen Gelenke, wobei insgesamt folgende Durchschnittswerte festgestellt wurden: Gesamtprotein: 15,30 g/l (15,08-16,03 g/l), Albumin/Globulin: 1,54 (1,46-1,60), Albumin: 60,03 % (58,43-61,28 %), Globulin: 39,97 % (38,72-41,57 %), Glukose: 6,67 mmol/l (6,35-9,98 mmol/l), Laktat: 7,69 mmol/l (6,69-8,14 mmol/l), pH: 7,67 (7,60-7,79), alkalische Phosphatase: 113,00 U/l (108,29-115,95 U/l), Laktatdehydrogenase: 216,53 U/l (207,70-231,15 U/l), Monozyten/Makrophagen: 54,9 % (53,5-56,4 %), Lymphozyten: 17,2 % (159-18,2 %), Granulozyten: 1,0 % (0,7-1,2 %), Synoviozyten: 27,0 % (23,8-30,2 %). Im Durchschnitt betrug das punktierbare Volumen 3,09 ml (0,58-6,21 ml) und das via Verdünnungsmethode ermittelte absolute Synoviavolumen 10,15 ml (6,07-14,90 ml). Die Mittelwertunterschiede der verschiedenen Gelenke sind für das Fadenziehvermögen, Gesamtprotein, Albumin/Globulin-Verhältnis, Albumin, Globulin, Glucose, Lactat, pH, Synoviozytenanteil, punktierbares und absolutes Synoviavolumen signifikant. Außerdem unterscheiden sich die Gelenke signifikant hinsichtlich des Auftretens von Beimengungen und Trübungen. Die ermittelten Werte stimmen weitgehendst mit den in der Literatur zu findenden Angaben überein, sofern diese vorhanden sind und soweit trotz unterschiedlicher Einheiten und Bestimmungsmethoden überhaupt verglichen werden kann. In jedem Fall leistet diese Arbeit einen Beitrag zur Vereinheitlichung der Angaben über physiologische Synoviabefunde und die Besonderheiten der unterschiedlichen Gelenke. Der "Biochemische Gelenkfunktionstest nach HEILMANN" ist als Verdünnungsmethode zur Bestimmung des absoluten Gelenkflüssigkeitsvolumens prinzipiell auch beim Pferd anwendbar, jedoch für die Praxis nicht unbedingt relevant, da das Synoviavolumen individuell stark variiert und auch beim Seitenvergleich in einzelnen Fällen um bis zu 3,79 ml schwankt. Diese Verdünnungsmethode ermöglicht es aber, auch aus den kleinen Gelenken in jedem Fall ausreichende Mengen an Untersuchungsmaterial zu gewinnen, so dass auch diese einer Untersuchung zugänglich gemacht werden
Synovial fluid analysis is very important for the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring the progress of arthropathies in all species. It is especially important in the horse in which inappropriate diagnosis and prognosis can have serious financial implications for the owner. In the horse, the interpretation of synovial fluid analyses is hampered by the lack of uniformity in both the analytical methods and the units of measurement in the published values. In addition, these reports frequently do not distinguish between different joints, and the studies on the biochemical and cellular values of the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints are particlularly poor. There is also a paucity of information on the total volume of synovial fluid of different joints. Knowledge of normal joint fluid volumes would allow concentrations of intra-articular injected medications to be determined accurately. The objective of this study was to determine the normal biochemical and cellular values of synovial fluid collected from certain joints of the distal equine limb. A second goal was to examine the applicability of the dilution method described by HEILMANN (1984) in human joints using hydroxy-ethyl starch to determine the total volume of synovial fluid of joints. Samples were collected from 39 horses and Ponys of different breeds and sex (16 females, 15 geldings, 8 entire males) and of varying age (9 months-20 years), height (110-178 cm), and weight (120-680 kg), that had been sent to slaughter for various reasons. All animals were examined clinically and pathologically and no animal with evidence of joint disease was included in the study. Samples of synovial fluid were collected from the following joints: middle carpal (n = 78), fetlock (n = 78), proximal interphalangeal (n = 77) and distal interphalangeal (n = 74). In total, samples from 307 joints were examined. The synovial fluid was assessed for colour, cloudiness, viscosity and particulate matter. The following parameters were determined by standard methods: total protein, albumin, globulin, albumin/globulin ratio, glucose, lactate, pH, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase and a differential cell count. Abnormalities in these parameters are considered to be indicative of synovitis, infectious arthritis, degenerative joint disease and synovial effusion. The total volume of joint fluid was determined by the HEILMANN method: A sample of fluid was withdrawn from each joint and the punctionable volume noted. A known volume and concentration of hydroxy-ethyl starch was injected into the joint; the joint was manipulated and a second sample of fluid removed. By the decrease of the concentration of the hydroxy-ethyl starch the synovial fluid volume can be calculated. The total synovial fluid was determined by adding the initial volume of fluid removed and the volume obtained by the dilution method. The values varied between the different joints and the range of mean values for the four joints examined were: total protein 15,30 g/l (15,08-16,03 g/l); albumin 60,03 % (58,43-61,28 %); globulin 39,97 % (38,72-41,57 %); albumin/globulin ratio 1,54 (1,46-1,60); glucose 6,67 mmol/l (6,35-9,98 mmol/l); lactate 7,69 mmol/l (6,69-8,14 mmol/l); pH 7,67 (7,60-7,79); alkaline phosphatase 113,00 U/l (108,29-115,95 U/l) and lactate dehydrogenase 216,53 U/l (207,70-231,15 U/l). On cytology, the mean values were: monocytes 54,9 % (53,5-56,4 %); lymphocytes 17,2 % (15,9-18,2 %); granulocytes 1,0 % (0,7-1,2 %) and synovial cells 27,0 % (23,8-30,2 %). The mean total volume of joint fluid was 10,15 ml and varied from 14,9 ml (middle carpal) to 6,07 ml (distal interphalangeal). Significant differences in the mean values of viscosity, total protein, albumin/globulin ratio, albumin, globulin, glucose, lactate, pH, lactate dehydrogenase, punctionable volume and the total volume of joint fluid occurred among the four joints. On cytology, only the mean values of synovial cells differed significantly among joints. As far as comparison is possible, the results of this study are in accord with published values. The study, however, does show that there are normal, physiological differences, especially in the biochemical parameters, among the four joints examined and that the values for one joint may not be appropriate for all joints. Furthermore, the dilution method developed by HEILMANN for human joints can be applied to the horse, although it may not be a useful measure of synovial system dysfunction as, in some horses, the difference in volume for the same joint of both legs was up to 3,79 ml. The addition of the hydroxy-ethyl starch to the smaller joints did allow the collection of sufficient fluid for a complete examination without interfering with the analysis

Le musiche “popolaresche” urbane, in genere trascurate nella letteratura etnomusicologica, sono state quasi completamente ignorate nel caso della Romania. Il presente studio si propone di colmare almeno in parte questa lacuna, indagando questo fenomeno musicale nella Bucarest degli anni Trenta e Quaranta del Novecento. Le musiche esaminate sono tuttavia inserite entro una cornice storica più ampia, che data a partire dalla fine del XVIII secolo, e messe in relazione con alcune produzioni di origine rurale che con queste hanno uno stretto rapporto. Il caso di Maria Lătărețu (1911-1972) si è rivelato particolarmente fecondo in questo senso, dal momento che la cantante apparteneva ad entrambi i versanti musicali, rurale e urbano, e nepadroneggiava con disinvoltura i rispettivi repertori. Dopo il suo trasferimento nella capitale, negli anni Trenta, è diventata una delle figure di maggior spicco di quel fenomeno noto come muzică populară (creazione musicale eminentemente urbana e borghese con radici però nel mondo delle musiche rurali). L’analisi del repertorio (o, per meglio dire, dei due repertori) della Lătărețu, anche nel confronto con repertori limitrofi, ha permesso di comprendere più da vicino alcuni dei meccanismi musicali alla base di questa creazione. Un genere musicale che non nasce dal nulla nel dopo-guerra, ma piuttosto continua una tradizione di musica urbana, caratterizzata in senso locale, ma influenzata dal modello della canzone europea occidentale, che data almeno dagli inizi del Novecento. Attraverso procedimenti in parte già collaudati da compositori colti che sin dal XIX secolo, in Romania come altrove, si erano cimentati con la creazione di melodie in stile popolare o nell’armonizzazione di musiche di provenienza contadina, le melodie rurali nel bagaglio della cantante venivano trasformate in qualcosa di inedito. Una trasformazione che, come viene dimostrato efficacemente nell’ultimo capitolo, non investe solo il livello superficiale, ma coinvolge in modo profondo la sintassi musicale.
Urban folk music, generally neglected by the ethnomusicological literature, has been almost completely ignored in the case of Romania. This essay partially tries to plug this gap, inquiring the phenomenon in Bucharest during the Thirties and the Forties of the 20th century. The music analyzed is inserted into a wider historical frame which begins with the end of the 18th century and compared with some rural repertoires deeply connected with it. The case of Maria Lătărețu (1911-1972) is very interesting by this point of view, because the singer belonged to both the musical contexts, rural as well as urban, and practiced the respective repertoires with great skill. After her move in the capital, by the ending of the Thirties, she became a protagonist in the world of the so called muzică populară, a typical urban and bourgeois creation yet with deep roots in the rural music. The analysis of her repertoire (or better, of her two repertoires), compared with some neighbouring repertoires as well, makes us better understand some musical processes which are crucial in this creation. We are talking about a musical genre that carries on an urban music tradition, with local features but influenced by the model of the western European song, which was born at least in the early 20th century. Through processes partially well-tested by some composers who created folk-style melodies or harmonized rural songs starting with the 19th century, in Romania as well as elsewhere, peasant melodies belonging to by Maria Lătărețu’s repertoire were transformed in something completely different. As it’s well shown in the last chapter, we are talking about a kind of transformation that involves in a deep way the musical syntax, not only the superficial level.
