En este trabajo se presenta la experiencia de uso de un modelo hidráulico unidimensional (Hec- Ras) y uno bidimensional (Feswms) en el estudio de la inundabilidad de Talavera de la Reina por el río Tajo. Se revisan los fundamentos y se analizan las aplicaciones de estos modelos, extrayendo las enseñanzas prácticas de sus virtudes e inconvenientes. La avenida de 1947 en Talavera, que teóricamente superó los 7000 m3/s se analiza con detalle.

Abstract:
La Central Hidroeléctrica de Caruachi está localizada en la zona Sur-Oriental de Venezuela en el Estado Bolívar sobre las aguas del río Caroní. Está equipada por 12 turbinas tipo Kaplan con 2196 MW de potencia instalada y un Aliviadero con una capacidad de 30000 m3/s. En este trabajo se presenta una correlación Modelo Matemático – Prototipo, cuyo objetivo es determinar la hidrodinámica del flujo del Canal de Descarga de Caruachi mediante el modelo matemático bidimensional SMS-FESWMS-2DH. El modelo matemático se elaboró geométricamente similar al prototipo y se calibró con respecto a los patrones de velocidades y niveles del agua medidos en el mismo. Los resultados indican que el modelo matemático representa el comportamiento hidrodinámico de las líneas de corriente en las zonas central e izquierda del canal, sin embargo el comportamiento del flujo en la margen derecha no pudo representarse por la poca inercia que tiene el flujo en ese sector, aunado al cambio brusco en la geometría del fondo. La correlación de niveles del agua obtenida durante la calibración modelo – prototipo fue de 0.4%, lo cual se considera un valor que define la robustez numérica del modelo matemático bidimensional.

Abstract:
<p>Determination of actual water surface is required for design of hydraulic structures, reservoirs, flood plain management, and flood forecasting. Classical approach of analyzing the river flow using one dimensional flow analysis cannot provide the accurate information of water surface for different return period floods. So, both 1D and 2D steady surface flow analysis in prismatic channel and non-prismatic channel were done using models like HEC-RAS, FESWMS-2DH, GIS, and HECGEORAS to compare the results and recommended to select the best among these two flow analyses. Analysis of result showed that in prismatic channel, the water surface elevations obtained from 1D and 2D steady flow analysis for discharge Q=10cft/s were almost similar with maximum variation of 0.33ft. But in case of non-prismatic channel, the results of water surface elevations from 1D and 2D steady flow analysis for discharge Q = 5000cft/s and 9430cft/s were not similar and the maximum variation of 1.36ft and 1.75ft were found for two discharges respectively. 1D steady flow analysis is acceptable for prismatic channel except at bend which may require 2D analysis. Abstract:
By using a scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) detector, the information limit for the Gemini®FESEMs can be extended beyond the nanometer range. A resolution of 0.8 nm at 30kV is now readily attainable and gives additional nanoscale information compared to conventional SEM detectors. The resolving power of the combined FESEM/STEM can be used to save processing time on TEM systems and enables high sample throughput for quality assurance applications and standard type measurements. The transmission mode of the FESEM has the advantages of avoiding chromatic aberration, allowing for a larger aperture so that higher transmission, signal-to-noise ratio and contrast enhancement due to the lower electron energy (10 - 30kV) can be obtained.

Abstract:
The Field Emission SEM was introduced to improve imaging resolution available with conventional SEMs with a tungsten source. Thermal assisted or Schottky Field Emission SEMs were introduced in s the nineties by a number of companies as a stable source to overcome the beam instability of the cold FESEMs introduced earlier. The Gemini® based Field Emission SEM launched by Zeiss 12 years ago has been designed from the beginning as a high stability FESEM with a relatively large multi-ported chamber. The drive to develop Gemini® technology was the need for a FESEM capable of ultra-high resolution performance over the entire accelerating voltage range that also possessed the flexibility needed for a wide range of analytical applications.

Abstract:
A field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) is a complex scanning electron microscope with ultra-high-resolution image scanning, instant printing, and output storage capabilities. FESEMs have been widely used in fields such as materials science, biology, and medical science. However, owing to the balance between resolution and field of view (FOV), when locating a target using an FESEM, it is difficult to view specific details in an image with a large FOV and high resolution simultaneously. This paper presents a deep neural network to realize super-resolution of an FESEM image. This technology can effectively improve the resolution of the acquired image without changing the physical structure of the FESEM, thus resolving the constraint problem between the resolution and FOV. Experimental results show that the apply of a deep neural network only requires a single image acquired by an FESEM to be the input. A higher resolution image with a large FOV and excellent noise reduction is obtained within a short period of time. To verify the effect of the model numerically, we evaluated the image quality by using the peak signal-to-noise ratio value and structural similarity index value, which can reach 26.88 dB and 0.7740, respectively. We believe that this technology will improve the quality of FESEM imaging and be of significance in various application fields.

Abstract. We describe FESOM-C, the coastal branch of the Finite-volumE Sea ice – Ocean Model (FESOM2), which shares with FESOM2 many numerical aspects, in particular its finite-volume cell-vertex discretization. Its dynamical core differs in the implementation of time stepping, the use of a terrain-following vertical coordinate, and the formulation for hybrid meshes composed of triangles and quads. The first two distinctions were critical for coding FESOM-C as an independent branch. The hybrid mesh capability improves numerical efficiency, since quadrilateral cells have fewer edges than triangular cells. They do not suffer from spurious inertial modes of the triangular cell-vertex discretization and need less dissipation. The hybrid mesh capability allows one to use quasi-quadrilateral unstructured meshes, with triangular cells included only to join quadrilateral patches of different resolution or instead of strongly deformed quadrilateral cells. The description of the model numerical part is complemented by test cases illustrating the model performance.

Abstract:
The thesis deals with possibilities of numerical modelling of an overflow over selected types of auxiliary spillways and then the possibilities are verified in particular localities. In thesis, there is carried out the determination of capacity of selected spillways by using several methods: the calculation of the overflow equation, one-dimensional and two-dimensional numerical models and physical model. The author created parametric analysis to each single method. Parametric analysis represent various hydraulic conditions. Subsequently, there is possible to express the effect of parametric analysis. The author makes a comparison of water levels received by mentioned methods set out under the specific hydraulic conditions by calibration of each model with the physical model. Finally, author recommends values of all coefficients which have an impact on results of numerical modelling of the flow over selected types of weirs mostly using like auxiliary spillways.

DE LA TESI:

Pretendre tractar un tema tan ampli com és l'estudi del calendari i de la festa com a graó i fita que atorga sentit a la successió de dies de l'any és una empresa que topa amb un nombre de problemes metodològics gens menyspreable, i encara més si tenim en compte que aquest estudi no es pot fer al marge de la consideració de les relacions entre festa i ritual i entre festa i mite, relacions que, elles soles, no han exhaurit encara totes les possibles discussions i estudis.

El material de què disposem en aquest tema és abundant, però desordenat, confús i dispers alhora, i enfosqueix amb un excés de dades irrellevants tot l'estudi, mentre que, d'altra banda, no subministra alguns ele- ments bàsics la datació temporal de moltes festes, per exemple que són imprescindibles per a treure conclusions vàlides.

D'altra banda, aquest tema ha gaudit d'una llarga tradició filològica i d'una abundant bibliografia que tampoc no faciliten l'aproximació al seu estudi. Els treballs existents són molt variats, però tots topen amb la mateixa dispersió de material que obliga a continus replantejaments de mètode. En aquesta situació, més que cercar noves respostes a la interpretació tradicional de les festes, calia, sobretot, fer-se preguntes noves.

Sense que la base material del tema hagi estat, doncs, bàsicament augmentada, i volent evitar de recórrer, altre cop, camins ja fressats moltes vegades, una pregunta que calia plantejar-se en abordar el tema era: ¿tenen les festes gregues alguna significació en conjunt o cal observar-les sempre aïlladament? O, dit d'una altra manera, l'ordre de les festes al llarg de l'any, ¿és pertinent o és arbitrari? ¿Pot descobrir-s'hi cap sentit? En darrera anàlisi, ¿quina és la funció de la festa, fita en un calendari, en el món grec?

Plantejar-se la possibilitat d'una sistematització de les festes, incloses en un context ampli d'interrelacions context que, després, es va veure que constituïa el cicle de l'any obria la porta a hipòtesis de treball diferents: analitzar-les en el conjunt del calendari de cada indret, o agrupant els rituals del mateix tipus, o fent una comparació de calendaris de diferents indrets. Aquesta darrera hipòtesi presentà de seguida problemes metodològics greus que el feren pràcticament impossible. És molt difícil inviable, diríem, a partir de les dades que posseïm establir un calendari ordenat de les festes de cada indret, molt més encara comparar-lo amb altres. La denominació dels mesos sovint és confusa i variable segons els llocs, tant, que els mateixos grecs s'equivoca- ven. Els testimonis dels rituals són molt abundants, però la informació que donen és migrada: un culte conegut en un indret concret sovint no és datable en el temps i, per tant, difícilment situable en el conjunt de l'any.

En canvi, analitzar els rituals que presenten semblances és una tasca difícil, però realitzable malgrat la confusió de material que posseïm. Considerar globalment totes les festes de sembra o de sega o les que fan referencia als ritus d'iniciació, d'arreu de Grècia, dóna la possibilitat de descobrir elements i característiques importants del conjunt que configuren tota una determinada estructura de l'any. Estudiar el cicle de la natura i la seva manifestació en el ritual duu a descobrir una concepció de l'any diferent de la moderna i que expressa una determinada manera de veure i d'ordenar el món.

Novament es presenten aquí dues dificultats metodològiques greus. D'una banda, la manca de datació temporal segura de moltes festes impossibilita de situar-les com a festes agràries d'una finalitat determinada i, a partir de les dades del ritual, no sempre és fàcil de fer una classificació, precisament perquè les festes que tenim ben testimoniades presenten contradiccions. D'altra banda, una festa és difícilment classificable a partir d'un sol criteri, ja que l'evolució de la història grega i la progressiva complexitat de les estructures polítiques i socials fan que les festes, al seu torn, també es compliquin amb l'afegitó de nous elements i la reinterpretació d'altres d'antics.

Una tercera possibilitat, la d'analitzar el conjunt de les festes anuals d'un mateix indret a partir de la seva interrelació, es mos- tra fàcil en el cas d'Atenes i difícil en les altres ciutats gregues, sempre pel mateix problema de dispersió i confusió de dades. Una aproximació al conjunt de festes àtiques mostra que les fetes no són actes aïllats i amb un sentit exclusiu en elles mateixes, sinó que s'integren en un conjunt més ampli que adquireix també un significat en ell mateix.

Aquest conjunt significatiu és, a Grècia, tot el cicle anual. Tant si comparem entre ells els rituals semblants de diferents indrets com si analitzem el conjunt de festes d'una sola ciutat la d'Atenes, en el nostre cas , s'arriba a la conclusió que l'any és una unitat significativa en el ritual grec. De l'estudi dels diferents rituals agraris en sorgeix una configuració de l'any en tres esta- cions que no depèn del curs del sol, sinó de les característiques de la terra i de les tasques a realitzar.

En canvi, l'estudi dels rituals atenesos ens mostra una significació cívica de l'any, en què les tres estacions configuren progressi- vament una història de la ciutat i dels seus fonaments mítics. Altre cop, la metodologia
planteja problemes, el principal dels quals és escatir quin és el lligam entre el ritual i el mite que l'explica. La vella qüestió de la re- lació mite/ritu es replanteja, però no en termes de prioritats o de relacions causa-efecte, sinó d'interacció: el mite i el ritu esdevenen, de fet, dues cares de la mateixa moneda, que s'interrelacionen per a configurar un sentit únic.

Les explicacions mítiques que els grecs donen a molts rituals són possiblement l'explicació posterior d'un ritu que no s'entén ja o que sorprèn i al qual s'atribueix un origen més o menys racional Ara bé, aquests mites no són triats a
l'atzar pels qui els van atribuir a una festa determinada, ans prenen el seu sentit en relació precisa amb aquella festa, explicant quelcom important, la significació del ritu per a una època concreta

L'any, doncs, té ritualment un sentit, d'acord amb el ritme de la vida que ordena el temps d'una manera que respon a la manera de concebre el món i la ciutat. L'ordenament del cosmos que els grecs expliquen amb el mite i que expressa la idea del pas d'una situació inicial de caos i de desordre, en la qual res no era com avui, a la realitat cívica del present, es reflecteix en la successió del temps en el curs de l'any i aquest any esdevé, ell mateix, expressió d'a- quest ordenament, natural o cívic.

Aquest sentit de l'any, en la seva complexitat i sobretot com a conjunt és l'objectiu bàsic d'aquesta tesi. Les festes, doncs, són analitzades no pel significat que poden tenir isoladament, sinó en la relació que s'estableix entre elles, la qual permet d'entendre molts elements rituals que, altrament, eren de difícil explicació i, alhora, ens fa pren- dre en consideració una manera de concebre l'any, distinta de la nostra, amb un sentit en la seva totalitat.

Resumo: Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo desenvolver um estudo e considerações sobre a presença da cor na minha produção, por meio do processo subtrativo, composta por uma série de xilogravuras coloridas, em sua maioria no processo matriz perdida, realizada entre os anos de 2009 e 2011. A temática é construída de narrativas provenientes de vivencias cotidianas rurais e urbanas e, principalmente, com as expressões da cultura popular das festas, folias e folguedos religiosos do Estado de São Paulo. Para efetivar a pesquisa, busco retomar o processo criativo envolvido na elaboração dessas gravuras, bem como rememorar momentos de vida que colaboraram na construção de minha trajetória pessoal e profissional. Como um "contador de estórias", recorro ao desenho e a coleta de falas dos festeiros para apreender, compreender e registrar aspectos da religiosidade popular e sua rica diversidade plástica. Na história da arte geral e brasileira, destaco artistas que apresentam produção significativa na área da gravura, enfatizando a cor na técnica de xilogravura
Abstract: This research aims to develop a study and consideration of the presence of color in my production of woodcuts by the subtractive process. Consisting of a series of colored woodcuts mostly lost in the process matrix, performed between the years 2009 and 2011. The conceptual relationship between printmaking and drawing will be explored and revealed through the very theme of the works (parties of popular Catholicism) and graphics processing. In the case of visual poetics, there will be a gradual process in which, concurrently, the results obtained experimentally subsidize further investigations, and thus successively over this research to achieve the final pointers

Neste trabalho, o objetivo central é contribuir para a formulação de um aporte teórico, concernente às Ciências Sociais, na área das relações entre Comunicação e Cultura sobre o conteúdo político-ideológico implícito nas manifestações culturais das classes subalternas e examiná-lo enquanto instrumento ampliador da margem de compreensão sobre as formas de produção e auto-reprodução destas classes. Através da metodologia dialética, estudamos as possibilidades de identificar, na esfera das manifestações populares subalternas, indicativos da presença de potenciais ideológicos mediante os níveis verificados de sublevação do homem perante processos de homogeneização do pensamento, em contradição às condutas de resistência, automovimento e auto-governo reais. Constatamos, nestes estudos, que as metodologia e filosofia historicistas atualmente estão predispostas às necessidades de transformação da sociedade. Identificamos sua base ideológica nas subjetividades de dispositivos sócio-culturais que da realidade das classes subalternas deverá vir à superfície através da práxis filosófica que conceba o nexo mundo-cultura-movimento.
The primary aim of this work is to help developing a theoretical contribution, concerning Social Sciences, to the area dealing with Communication and Culture. Essentially, it discusses the political-ideological content underlying cultural expressions of the subordinate classes, which is identified as an expanding instrument of the understanding limits concerning the means of production and self-reproduction of these classes. Through a dialectical methodology, we have studied the possibilities of identifying, in the scope of popular subordinate expressions, symptoms of the presence of ideological potential by evaluating the level of human rebellion when faced by procedures of homogenizing thought, as opposed to resistance behaviour, real self-movement and selfgovernment. We have established, in this important occasion, the predisposition of historicist methodology and philosophy to the needs of changing society. Furthermore, we have identified its ideological basis in the subjectivities of social and cultural devices which, from the reality lived by subordinate classes, will only come forward through a philosophical praxis that will conceive the nexus of world-culture-movement.

This work focus on the importance of music in children s education. It was developed based on a case study approaching the practice of musical pedagogy of a teacher who teaches 4-to-5-year-old kids at a private owned kindergarten school located in São Paulo city. The interest to have chosen such a school was, in particular, meant to show how that teacher approaches music, aiming at making children s development easier and possible. Thus, the support was mainly based on authors such as Brito, Koellreutter, Schafer e Winisk, among others, in addition to the National Children Education Curricular Reference itself. Aiming at bringing subsidies to this study, the above mentioned authors have their theoretical framework based on the importance of playful experience, as of infantile cultures, silence, sonorous landscapes which outstand the sounds around us, the stimulus to attentively listen, the integration between sound and movement, the awakening to creativeness, the appreciation of a serious and planned improvisation in addition to acknowledge the sounds made by the kids themselves. Nevertheless, it was considered that for a successful pedagogical practice to exist, such as the one shown in this work, it is fundamental that, besides the theoretical reference, the child education teacher should have, at least a rather basic musical background. This being the case, the teacher will be able to make use of a more adequate musical education for today, in addition to contribute to children s own development.
Esta dissertação trata da importância da música para a educação infantil. Sua realização ocorreu mediante um estudo de caso que abordou a prática da pedagogia musical de uma professora que atua com crianças de 4 a 5 anos em uma escola infantil da rede particular de ensino situada no Município de São Paulo. O interesse em escolher esta escola, em especial, foi no sentido de demonstrar como essa professora aborda a música, tendo como objetivo facilitar ou possibilitar o desenvolvimento da criança. Para tanto, o apoio residiu principalmente em autores como: Brito, Koellreutter, Schafer e Winisk, entre outros, além do próprio Referencial Curricular Nacional de Educação Infantil. Com o intuito de trazer subsídios a este estudo, os autores citados possuem como arcabouço teórico a importância da experiência lúdica, das culturas infantis, do silêncio, da paisagem sonora evidenciando os sons que nos rodeiam, do estímulo a uma escuta atenta, da integração entre o som e o movimento, do despertar para a criatividade, de valorizar uma improvisação séria e planejada, além de reconhecer os sons produzidos pelas próprias crianças. Porém, considerou-se que para existir uma prática pedagógica de sucesso, como a demonstrada nesta dissertação, é importante que, além de percorrer este referencial teórico, é fundamental que a professora de educação infantil tenha, pelo menos, uma formação musical básica, além de sua formação em pedagogia. Assim, terá mais condições de desenvolver uma educação musical de forma mais adequada para os dias atuais, além de contribuir para o desenvolvimento das crianças.

This study examines the rave phenomenon, as an organization of contemporary youth culture. Became interesting to study the phenomenon in question and know more about the cultural moment in which we live, as it is specific to modernity, despite having features of the youth of yesteryear. The work also addresses the peculiarities of electronic music, the concepts of sacrifice and feasts, presents a comparison of raves with rituals of Indian tribe and an analysis of the discursive production of some ravers from psicanlíticos concepts. This study might reveal in an interesting speech production cycle is the presentation of the idealized pursuit of pleasure and freedom in the rave experience disappointment, finishing with a more realistic understanding of the same experience as subjetiva.Utilizaram is, as the main reference in this analysis, Freud's texts
O presente estudo analisa o fenômeno rave, enquanto organização cultural da juventude contemporânea. Interessante se fez estudar o fenômeno em questão e conhecer mais acerca do momento cultural em que vivemos, já que este é específico da modernidade, apesar de apresentar características da juventude de outros tempos. A recent trend in designing naval ships is to improve performance through using more electric equipment. The reliability and quality of the onboard electric power, therefore, becomes critical as the ship functionality would entirely depend on its availability. This paper investigates the possibility of using Flywheel Energy Storage Systems (FESS), similar to those earlier developed for commercial applications, to address issues related to onboard power supplies. A design of a FESS for onboard power backup and railroad electrical stations is presented. The FESSs power output parameters are 500kWx30sec in high-duty mode and up to 2MW in pulse mode. High power output is one of the main advantages of FESS over commercially available electrochemical batteries. The other advantages include essentially an unlimited number of charge/discharge cycles, observable state of charge and environmental friendliness. Designs of the main FESS components are discussed: low-loss magnetic bearings, an energy-storage hub, a high-efficiency motor/generator and power electronics.

Abstract One of the current technologies widely used to extract the earth’s renewable energy is solar modules, which harness energy from the sun; however, their operating conditions and their energy storage capacities vary greatly under different weather conditions. The high-speed Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS) presents a promising prospective solution for solar energy storage and utilization. Accurately modeling FESS can lead to its efficient design and control. In this paper, a fully integrated FESS, with comprehensive photovoltaic (PV) system, has been modeled to simulate the overall energy harvesting capabilities, power output, and efficiency. The solar module has been modeled using the one-diode solar cell model technique to predict the overall system efficiency and determine the most efficient time of day for switching between the FESS’s charging (morning time) and discharging mode (night time). To validate the developed model using experimental data, four 250 Wp Ankara Solar PV modules and a Balance of System (BOS) were installed. The solar irradiance, wind speed, cell temperature, solar module, FESS output voltage and current were logged during the system’s operation. The theoretical model predicted that the energy output for the test day was 4.80 kWh, while the experimental analysis showed that the solar modules produced 4.68 kWh, only 2.5% percentage difference. The theoretical and experimental power curves followed the same trends throughout the day, which assures that the model could accurately predict the daily energy output of the solar array. The efficiency of the solar module was determined to be 15.3%. The solar module simulation serves as a repeatable replication of the actual solar module source, which enables convenient, low-cost estimation of the solar module-FESS system under different environmental conditions. The developed solar module was integrated with a brushless DC motor and flywheel models to simulate the FESS response. Relative to the input solar energy input of 4.68 kWh, the daily energy stored in a flywheel was 3.51 kWh, giving the overall solar-module-FESS system an efficiency of 74.7%. After the experimental setup completion of FESS, the integrated solar module-FESS model will be tested for its overall power output and efficiency against the traditional solar module-battery-system.

Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah feses segar dari 53 ekor sapi perah pada masa laktasi yang diambil secara acak dari peternakan sapi perah di Kabupaten Jember. Indentifikasi infeksi Fasciola sp. dengan menemukan telur Fasciola sp. pada sampel feses dengan metode sedimentasi, derajat infeksi diperoleh dengan menghitung jumlah telur cacing per gram (EPG/Eggs per gram) menggunakan Whitlock chambers. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 30 sampel feses ditemukan adanya telur Fasciola sp. dengan derajat infeksi termasuk dalam kategori ringan.

Abstract Standard analytical practice in the semiconductor industry depends on fast, efficient and reliable sample preparation prior to FESEM. “In lens” imaging technology and orientation mapping (EBSD) demand sample surfaces free of physical damage and residual contamination. An integrated preparation tool has been developed that incorporates the functionality necessary for argon – oxygen plasma cleaning, ion beam etching (IBE), reactive ion beam etching (RIBE), reactive ion etching (RIE), and ion beam sputter coating (IBSC). Control, monitoring and sequential automation of the processes is accomplished through a novel combination of software and hardware. FESEM results for Al and Cu based microelectronic materials will be discussed, as well as EBSD results for bulk metals. Improvements in throughput and subsequent materials characterization will be demonstrated.

Abstract A packaged device based on a ball grid array or other design presents a challenge to the failure analyst. Accessing one of the metal levels from the topside requires decapsulation by either a wet, predominantly dry (RIE) or a completely dry (mechanical) treatment. To reveal the details of the gate including the gate oxide, new approaches to selective etch delineation by RIE are required. This article presents an automated sample preparation method for packaged microelectronic materials by combining plasma cleaning, ion beam etching, reactive ion etching and ion beam sputter coating. A single etch gas chemistry was effective in phase delineation by RIE. Future work to further delineate the gate oxides could support accurate metrology by means of FESEM rather than field emission transmission electron microscope.

Abstract EBIC (Electron beam induced current) method has been applied to the evaluation of half micron MOSFET junctions. We have been able to clearly measure the junction depth profile and the impurities density, using FESEM/EBIC which provides the highest SEM resolution currently available. We have found that it is necessary to understand the relation of the acceleration voltage and the primary electron beam current, in order to take full advantage of the FESEM/EBIC technique for junction evaluation. We have been able to experimentally demonstrate the accurate measurement of junction position.
