Weird Fiction is often understood as an unclassifiable fusion of horror, science fiction (SF) and fantasy, and therefore a kind of generically hybridized writing. This dialogue includes ways of rethinking of the great French novels. In the article two such projects, opposite in creative intention and style, are analyzed and compared.
