The nutritive value of Ficus exasperata, F. polita, f. vogelli, F. ahutilifolia, F. thonningii, und F. mucoso in mixtures with 30% Punicum maximum were investigated in terms of their chemical composition, saponins, phenols, in vitro gus production (IVGP), metabolizuble energy (ME), organic matter digestibility (OMD%) and short chain fatty acids (SCFA). Neutral detergent fibre (NDF) was significantly (P<0.05) lowest in E thoningii. Saponin was detected in F politu, while Phenol was detected in all Ficus species except F. poliiu und F. thonningii. Obesity is a major public health concern characterized by excessive body fat, which increases the risk of numerous health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain cancers. Addressing obesity is crucial for improving overall health and well-being. In this study, thirty female Wistar rats, weighing between 190 and 200 g, were utilized to investigate the effects of Ficus exasperata on olanzapine-induced obesity. After a two-week acclimatization period, obesity was induced in the designated group using olanzapine (4 mg/kg) via oral gavage for 28 days. The rat

Introduction: Ficus exasperata Vahl. (Moraceae) is a perennial herb with a long history of traditional medicinal use in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The present study was designed to screen the major groups of phytochemicals found in the leaf parts of the plant. Methods: The aqueous, hydroethanolic, infusion and decoction extracts of the leaves of Ficus exasperata was used for qualitative screening and quantitative analysis using specific standard methods. The identified classes of metabolites in the different extracts were then quantified using spectrophotometric methods
