Abstract:
Gas identification represents a big challenge for improving detection and pattern recognition of each gas by using inexpensive gas sensor. This paper presents a gas detector system which is built to monitor, and measure gas pollutant emissions in the air and also used to detect different gases. The pollutants are ethane (C2H6) and methane (CH4) which are located beside the fertilizer factories in Alexandria Egypt and some other gases as hydrogen (H2), propane (C3H8) and isobutane (C4H10).The gas sensors TGS-2611, TGS-816, TGS-2620 and TGS-823 from Figaro Engineering Inc. are used to build agas

Varroosis is a dangerous and difficult to diagnose disease decimating bee colonies. The studies conducted sought answers on whether the electronic nose could become an effective tool for the efficient detection of this disease by examining sealed brood samples. The prototype of a multi-sensor recorder of gaseous sensor signals with a matrix of six semiconductor gas sensors TGS 823, TGS 826, TGS 832, TGS 2600, TGS 2602, and TGS 2603 from FIGARO was tested in this area. American foulbrood is a dangerous disease of bee broods found worldwide, caused by the Paenibacillus larvae larvae L. bacterium. In an experiment, the possibility of detecting colonies of this bacterium on MYPGP substrates (which contains yeast extract, Mueller-Hinton broth, glucose, K2HPO4, sodium pyruvate, and agar) was tested using a prototype of a multi-sensor recorder of the MCA-8 sensor signal with a matrix of six semiconductors: TGS 823, TGS 826, TGS 832, TGS 2600, TGS 2602, and TGS 2603 from Figaro. Two twin prototypes of the MCA-8 measurement device, M1 and M2, were used in the study.

Abstract Gamma delta T cell, expressing gamma delta T cell receptor (gamma delta TCR), is considered as a group of unconventional T cells linking innate and adaptive immunity. Although gamma delta T cells only represent a minor population in human immune system, their functions are very broad. Recent researches have suggested that depending on the microenvironment, gamma delta T cells can assume features reminiscent of Th1, Th2, Th17 and regulatory T cells (Treg) as well as professional antigen present cells. Abstract Abstract 462 The marrow microenvironment in primary myelofibrosis and mouse models of the disease is characterized by increased levels of cytokines which regulate hematopoiesis including CXCL12, BMP4, VEGF and TGF-β. The observation that TGF-βnull myelofibrotic stem cells fail to transmit the disease by transplantation (Chagraoui et al, Blood 100:3495, 2002) has established an important role for TGF-β in disease development. Mice carrying the hypomorphic Gata1low mutation in which the enhancer that drives gene expression in megakaryocytes (MK) is deleted also develop myelofibrosis wit

Abstract Histone methyltransferases (HMTs) are important epigenetic regulators of gene transcription and have been found disrupted at the genomic level in a spectrum of human tumors including hematological malignancies. In CLL, recurring genomic lesions targeting chromatin modifiers are emerging in the literature (Puente 2015, Nature) but their biological and clinical significance remain uncertain. We studied 802 CLL patients, divided into a discovery [n=261, sampled pre-treatment] and two validation cohorts [n=541, 431 pre-treatment and 110 ultra-high risk], using high-resolution SNP-arrays [

BackgroundIt is now well established that the immune system has a substantial role in controlling cancer growth and progression. Immunotherapy is quickly coming to the forefront of cancer treatment, however the implementation of immunotherapy in pediatric solid cancers, which classically display a low mutational load, is hindered by insufficient understanding of the determinants of cancer immune responsiveness in children. In order to better understand tumor-host interplay, we sought to characterize solid pediatric cancers based on immunological parameters(1)using analytes extracted from gene e

Although one third of patients with thalassemia can find a matched unrelated donor (MUD) few patients were treated by MUD transplantation. Early experience with the use of MUD transplant in class 3 patients with thalassemia resulted in high rates of graft rejection and transplant-related mortality with thalassemia-free (TFS) survival of 53% (La Nasa G et al. Background: Sickle hemoglobin (HbS) under conditions of deoxygenation polymerizes to cause sickling of red blood cells (RBCs) and other rheological abnormalities. Voxelotor has been previously shown in a preclinical model of sickle cell disease (SCD) to increase HbS affinity to oxygen, thus reducing its polymerization and sickling with subsequent increase in the half-life of RBCs. We hypothesized that given this mechanism of action, we would observe improvements in RBC physiology in patients receiving voxelotor. However, routine laboratory techniques aimed to evaluate haemostasis, i.e. activated prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), are not sensitive enough to detect mild hypocoagulable or hypercoagulable states in this population. Indeed, these methods evaluate the start-up phase of the coagulation, but omit the amplification stage in which an exponential increase of thrombin generation occurs.
