Full textThe aim of this work is to propose and encourage critical reflection on the discursive production of tourism in contemporaneity, in other words, on how tourism is being constructed by different kinds of speeches prepared by different actors. The main working hypothesis is that the discursive production of tourism is not simple communication, but a process of persuasion as it has been used intentionally by powerful social actors who wish to legitimize their own interests in the name of what they call tourism. Therefore, such production is not a neutral activity, but an instrument of a power play: tourism is one of the most finished devices already developed for capitalist subjectivity. The object of analysis of this thesis is the \'legitimating discursive production of tourism\'. The methodology of this study is the Critical Analysis of Discourses. The thesis is divided into six chapters. At the end, in the form of final remarks, propose new critical studies to tourism.

Full textThis research work consists of analyzing the effect of sanitary measures on exports of frozen shrimp to the South Korean market between 2013 and 2019. In recent years, exports of frozen shrimp have achieved significant growth to the South Korean market. However, the application of sanitary measures in trade with South Korea has increased and more products are affected by them. The general objective of this research work is to determine if the sanitary measures have impacted the exports of frozen shrimp to the Asian country. Through the methodology of mixed approach, the behavior of the variables related to sanitary measures was analyzed by means of two analyses: the first one was qualitative, through semi-structured interviews carried out to the main actors and specialists in the subject, who provide information of the fishing sector; and the second one was a quantitative analysis, with the use of the Longitudinal Non-Experimental Design with data obtained from diverse sources such as SUNAT, Trademap, System of management of the information, among others, in which the degree of relation between the variables of each factor is measured. The main result of both analyses, concludes that the trade agreement between Peru and South Korea, has had a positive impact on the export of frozen shrimp, and also the demand for sanitary measures by the Asian market, represents a great opportunity to offer Peruvian fisheries products with the highest quality standards. However, the demand for sanitary measures generates an increase in export costs due to the fact that a previous analysis of the product is required in specific national laboratories, which have international certifications.

Kapinga, Servasius D. "An evaluation of recruitment policy in the public service of Namibia: a case study of the ministry of environment and tourism." 2013. http://hdl.handle.net/11394/3579.
Full textThe primary objective of this study was to evaluate recruitment policies and practices in the MET to determine challenges with the recruitment of competent and qualified candidates, since it is one of the custodians of human resources in the Public Service of Namibia. Findings of this study revealed that if the PS’s well-crafted recruitment and selection policies were to be translated into practice, then the MET would be the employer of choice. This process could be hampered by the decisions taken by short listing and selection panels, which are reluctant to appoint candidates who are better qualified than them. The MET should create an enabling environment in which communication between management and non-management freely takes place without people being victimised. The findings of the study pointed to the necessity to invoke remedial measures and monitoring mechanisms that would ensure the effective execution of recruitment and selection policies and practices in the public service.

ABSTRACT In recent years, quiet a few scholars are aware that the leadership style of a leader has great influence on employees’ job satisfaction. Therefore, it is an essential issue for the leaders to understand the leadership styles which can enhance employees’ job satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to examine the relation between transformational leadership and employees’ job satisfaction. This research mainly adopts transformational leadership concept by Burns (1978) and job satisfaction definition by Vroom (1964) as theoretical basis. Research area covers 13 administration units of Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Questionnaire survey was carried out by census method. Total of 497 questionnaires were issued and 367 valid questionnaires were collected. The data were analyzed and verified respectively by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, and other statistical analyses as to bring up research findings and suggestions. There are 3 parts of survey scale in this research including “background variables”, “transformational leadership scale”, and “job satisfaction scale”. In accordance with empirical analyses, the research findings are as follow: I. Through average analysis, upon the implementation of transformational leadership by the leaders, research objects show the strongest cognition in individualized consideration while contingent reward is the second strongest. In terms of job satisfaction degree cognition, intrinsic satisfaction ranks the highest and the research objects think that extrinsic satisfaction is slightly insufficient. II. The following are found through variance analysis: there are differences on extrinsic job satisfaction cognition degree between male and female employees; significant differences are found on the idealized influence among employees of different ages; there are also significant differences on the idealized influence, intellectual stimulation, and inspiration motivation factors among employees with different education levels; employees with different years of working experience show different intrinsic satisfaction cognition degree; there are significant differences exit in every factors of transformational leadership and job satisfaction among the employees with different positions; differences are found on extrinsic satisfaction cognition degree among the employees of different marital status. But, there is no difference shown on the factors of both transformational leadership and job satisfaction among employees from different service departments. III. Through correlation analysis, there is positive correlation found between transformation leadership factors and job satisfaction. Based on the above analytical findings, the following suggestions are proposed: 1. Propose competent authorities to learn and become leaders with transformational leadership. 2. Implement fair, impartial, and transparent personnel system. 3. Raise budget and encourage employees to do lifelong learning as to enhance their confidence.
