One of the most important emerging aspects of Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is the Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) aiming to deliver multimedia contents to mobile users more efficiently in point-to-multipoint way. 3GPP also recommends an Application Layer Forward Error Correction (AL-FEC) scheme, especially for MBMS, in order to provide reliable transmission over mobile networks. Due to many emerging FEC schemes, the existing 3GPP standardized systematic fountain Raptor code FEC scheme is considered to be outdated. One of the newly emerged codes, namely RaptorQ, has

Distributed file systems have become popular because they allow information to be shared be between computers in a natural way. A distributed file system often forms a central building block in a distributed system. Currently most distributed file systems are built using a communications interface that transfers messages about files between machines. This thesis proposes a different, lower level, communications interface. This `block-based' interface exchanges information about the blocks that make up the file but not about the files themselves. This study analyzes four autobiographical accounts written after the fall of the Berlin Wall by former data subjects, i.e., by individuals who have been under the surveillance of the East German Stasi (Staatssicherheit). Following a suggestion by Cornelia Vismann, I refer to these texts as “file-based autobiographies.” The term reflects the fact that they were written in response to the opening of the Stasi archives and the passing of the Stasi Files Act, which allowed data subjects to access their files. We describe a new file system that provides, at the same time, both name and content based access to files. To make this possible, we introduce the concept of a semantic directory. When a user creates a semantic directory, the file system automatically creates a set of pointers to the files in the file system that satisfy the query associated with the directory. This set of pointers is called the query-result of the directory. To access the files that satisfy the query, users just need to de-reference the appropriate pointers. Users can
