The fill rate moves counter to aggregate employment but rises steeply with employer growth rates in the cross section. It falls with employer size, rises with worker turnover rates, and varies by a factor of four across major industry groups. We also develop evidence that the

Based on “length and energy scale matching” theory, we put forward a model for the Ar17+ ion in grazing incidence on an Al surface. Using the model and a more detailed side feeding rate, the inner-shell filling and X-ray emission of the incident Ar17+ ion are minutely studied. The results show that the final charged state of the ion gradually increases with increasing incident velocity, which is in accordance with experimental results. The central energies of K X-ray lines (Kα and Kβ) are mainly influenced by the vertical energy of the ion, that is, for a given incident angle the X-ray spectru

This article analyses the problem of immigration. In the process of globalization, the countries are forced to solve the issues of emigration, declining birth rates, and populating ageing. Therefore, immigration may be beneficial as the immigrating people help to create economic potential by filling vacancies. However, the acceptance of immigrants and their integration often leads to debates and confronts the members of society. The need to focus efforts on preserving the quality and quantity of Kansas' water supply is a widely accepted and growing trend. Addressing such a need will necessitate increased supply of professionals in related STEM fields. Drawing on the Human Capital Theory and the Theory of Work Adjustment, descriptive survey research and qualitative interviews were used to gather data from employers of water-related job positions. The results of the study suggest that, while employers have not recently experienced much challenge filling job vacancies, demand for employees could increase in the future. A

Abstract The effects of nitrogen incorporation by high-dose ion implantation in epitaxial gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) films on Si (111) followed by annealing have been investigated. The nitrogen content in the oxide layer was changed by altering the implantation dose. The presence of nitrogen incorporation on the Gd2O3 layer was studied using Auger electron spectroscopy. Nitrogen incorporation is believed to occur by filling the oxygen vacancies or by removing hydroxyl group ions in Gd2O3. A maximum concentration of 11% was obtained for nitrogen in the interface between the silicon dioxide and Gd

This paper considers the effect of oxygen and hydrogen plasma on SnO2 films synthesized from solutions of tin tetrachloride containing NH4F and NH4OH additives. It was found that the treatment of samples with oxygen plasma for 5 min led to a decrease in transparency by 1.11 and 1.17 times. On the transmission spectra, a decrease in the transmittance at a wavelength of 450 nm to 38.1% (1.24 times) in samples obtained from solutions with the addition of NH4F and up to 29.9% (1.53 times) in samples obtained from solutions with the addition of NH4OH is observed. <p>The Pythagorean Expectation Formula was the impetus for the statistical revolution of Major League Baseball. The formula, introduced by Bill James, has been used by baseball statisticians to forecast the number of wins a team should have given the total number of runs scored versus those allowed. Since its use in baseball, the formula has been applied to the NFL, the NBA, and the NHL. This study examines if the original formula, as introduced by James, can be fitted for and used to retrospectively predict winning percentage for NCAA Division I football teams.
