The purpose of this study was to examine how academic advising was conducted among institutions in the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). The study examined organizational advising models used by these institutions and to what extent they utilized developmental advising methods. A GafChromic EBT film dosimetry protocol was established at the Ionizing Radiation Standards group of National Research Council. After a literature view, several aspects of EBT film dosimetry were investigated. The energy and radiation modality independence of EBT film was confirmed at the 2 % level. A calibration curve was established using a 32 point calibration curve described by a four-parameter polynomial. The darkening of EBT film is found to be significant after the first 24 hours, and up to 5 % darkening was observed over three months, which rules out the use of EBT f

My thesis is intended as an intellectual opportunity to take what, I argue, are the "dead ends" of work on the history film in a new direction. I examine cinematic representations of the Vietnam War-era America (1964-1974) produced during the "hot" culture wars (1987-1995). Abstract:
Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur tre storsäljande filmer från 2016 förhåller sig till jämställdhet. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är forskning gällande jämställdhet, genus, kön och representation samt feministisk filmforskning. Metoden för att genomföra analysen är både en genomräkning av den könsfördelning som finns i filmerna likaså om de klarar Bechdeltestet och avslutningsvis en karaktärsanalys utifrån Jens Eders Karaktärsklockan. De filmerna som analyseras är Finding Dory, Captain America: Civil War och Ghostbusters. Resultaten av undersökningen visar på filmer som är ojämnst

Although Marilyn Monroe was one of the most famous American film stars, and a monumental cultural figure, her film work has been studied far less than her biography. Applying C.S. Peirce’s semiotic categories of icon, index, and symbol, this research explains how Monroe acquired meaning as an actress: Monroe was a powerful, but simplified, public image (an icon); an indicator of a particular historical and social context (an index); and an embodiment of significant cultural debates (a symbol). Analyzing Monroe as an icon reveals how her personal life, which contradicted her official publicity

This thesis is a rhetorical analysis of the movie Easy Rider. It explores how auteurs Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern's use of road, regional, and cowboy mythology creates a text that simultaneously exposes and is dominated by the ironies inherent in American culture and breathes new life into the cowboy myth, reaffirming the cowboy's place as one of America's most enduring cultural icons.
