This study looks at alternative models of follow-up album success in order to determine if there is a relationship between the decrease in Metascore ratings (assigned by Metacritic.com) between the first and second album for a musician or band and the 1) music genre or 2) the number of years between the first and second album release. In the following thesis, I give a brief history of the airline industry and its economics, describing what attributes of the industry make a hub-and-spoke system far more efficient than a point-to-point system. Next, I describe three large airline mergers in the last decade, studying whether or not they achieved their stated purpose. Finally, I discuss how hub-and-spoke systems are so much better than competing systems that they can drive weaker, less efficient systems out of the market, leading to a new equilibrium containing a small number of airlines operating from a handful of megahubs. Abstract:

This research paper focuses on Thailand’s textile and clothing industry since its liberalisation in 1995. The industry used to be the number one generator of export income for Thailand. As exports strongly declined in the late 1990s, the Thai government employed ‘industrial policy’ to reignite the industry in 2003 and 2007. However, the policies have had little effect on the export pattern.
