Mª Jesús Viguera Molins realiza la edición, introducción y estudio de la obra de Francisco Codera y Zaidín Decadencia y desaparición de los almorávides en España, publicada en la editorial navarra Urgoiti editores, en 2004. La primera vez que el libro del insigne arabista veía la luz era en mayo de 1899, suedición ahora ha requerido una actualización ortográfica y de puntuación, así como la inclusión en notas de ciertas referencias a ilustraciones que aparecen como apéndice en el texto. La obra de Codera ha sido completada con índices onomástico y toponímico, cuya labor ha corrido a cargo de María José Díaz Carrillo, licenciada en Filología Arabe de la Universidad Complutense.

Artikel ini membahas tentang kekhasan sains Islam yang menjadi penanda identitas kemunculan peradaban Islam yang dimulai sejak era kenabian hingga era kekhalifahan Mughal di India dan kekhalifahan bani Umayyah di Andalusia. Peradaban Islam sebenarnya terkait dengan semangat ‘Sanskrit cosmopolis’ yang teksnya ternyata telah migrasi ke kawasan Arabia sejak era pra-Islam hingga mapannya sains Islam di India pada masa dinasti Mughal di India. Elemen-elemen teks Weda berbahasa Sansekerta dan karya-karya bertradisi Yunani telah mengalami revitalisasi dan memperkaya tradisi keilmuan Islam. Aksara Judeo-Arab yang menjadi penanda tradisi Rabbinik sebenarnya tidak dapat dilepaskan dari kontak budaya yang intens dalam ranah keagamaan antara keyahudian dan keislaman yang dimulai sejak era kenabian. Pemanfaatan teori yang digagas oleh Sheldon Pollock dalam tulisan ini memang sangat relevan, terutama terkait ‘Sanskrit cosmopolis.’ Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka yang relevan dengan kajian manuskrip berbasis bahasa Sansekerta, Ibrani dan Yunani, dan Arab, dan teks-teks yang telah mengalami proses arabisasi dianalisis sesuai kaidah kajian filologis.

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran metodologi dan pendekatan yang ditawarkan Charles J.Adam dalam melakukan kajian Islamic Studies. Tawaran tersebut muncul atas respon kegelisahan akademik terhadap kegagalan yang dilakukan para ahli sejarah Islam dalam mendefinisikan Islam atau agama terhadap metodologi dan pendekatan yang dipakai. Menurut Adams tidak ada metode yang canggih untuk mendekati aspek kehidupan-dalam individu dan masyarakat beragama, tetapi sarjana harus menggunakan tradisi atau aspek luar keberagamaan sebagai landasan dalam memahami dan melakukan studi agama. Sebagai tantangan dalam mengkaji Islam, sebagai sebuah agama harus melampui dimensi tradisi atau aspek luar agar mampu menjelaskan dimensi kehidupan-dalam dari masyarakat Islam.Untuk menjawab tantangan dan tugas para pengkaji Islam, Adams merekomendasikan dua pendekatan yang diletakkan pada sebuah garis kontinum yaitu merentang dari pendekatan normatif sampai dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pendekatan normatif adalah pendekatan yang dijiwai oleh motivasi dan tujuan keagamaan, sedangkan pendekatan deskriptif muncul sebagai jawaban terhadap motivasi keingintahuan intelektual atau akademis. Pendekatan normatif dapat dilakukan dalam bentuk misionaris tradisional, apologetik, maupun pendekatan irenic (simpatik). Sementara pendekatan deskriptif, Adams mengelompokkan pada pendekatan-pendekatan filologis dan sejarah, pendekatan ilmu-ilmu sosial, dan pendekatan fenomenologis. Pendekatan normatif dan deskriptif dengan berbagai varian tersebut dapat dipergunakan dalam mengkaji Islam yang memiliki 11 subject matter, yaitu: (1) pre-Islamic Arabia, (2) studies of the Prophet, (3) Qur’anic studies, (4) prophetic tradition (Hadis), (5) kalam, (6) Islamic law, (7) falsafah, (8) tasawuf, (9) the Islamic sects—shi’ah—(10) worship and devotional life, dan (11) popular religion.

This article discusses the contents of the manuscript entitled Kutika Ugi' Sakke Rupa (KUSR) or Bunga Rampai Kutika Bugis. KUSR explains the method of calculating the good and bad times of the Bugis people. KUSR has a superior value to similar kutika scripts that only contain one or two methods. KUSR collects several methods of calculating time which mostly accepts literature from the Islamic world in the Middle East and North Africa, such as the works of Sheikh Aḥmad bin Muḥammad Ramaḍān al-Makki and Abu al-'Abbās Aḥmad bin ‘Alī al-Būnī. In addition, Ibn 'Arabī thought also played an important role in the construction of the KUSR text through the explanation of wahdāt al-wujūd understanding and remem­brance related to the elements of Islamic Sufism. In this regard, this article analyzes the relationship between the influence of Islamic Sufism and the Kutika method of calculation, especially in the 19th century. Therefore, a philological approach related to the study of texts and the history of manuscripts to understand the background of Islamic influence is an important thing to do in this study. This aims to reveal the form of Islamic influence contained in the KUSR text and its relation to the development of Islam in South Sulawesi. Thus, Islamic discourses, especially Sufism, can be seen as an influential factor in the transmission of science and astro­nomy in the 19th century Bugis society. KUSR menjelaskan metode perhitungan waktu baik dan buruk masyarakat Bugis. KUSR memiliki nilai ungul daripada naskah kutika serupa yang hanya memuat satu atau dua metode. KUSR menghimpun beberapa metode hitungan waktu yang banyak meresepsi literatur-literatur yang berasal dari dunia Islam di Timur Tengah dan Afrika Utara, seperti karya-karya Syekh Ahmad bin Muhammad Ramadhân al-Makki dan Abu al-‘Abbas Ahmad bin Ali al-Būnī. Selain itu, Ibnu ‘Arabī juga memegang peranan penting dalam konstruksi teks KUSR melalui penjelasan paham wahdāt al-wujūd dan zikir-zikir yang berkaitan dengan unsur-unsur sufisme Islam. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, artikel ini menganalisis kaitan antara pengaruh sufisme Islam dan metode hitungan Kutika, khususnya pada abad ke-19. Oleh sebab itu, pendekatan Filologi terkait kajian teks dan sejarah naskah untuk memahami latar belakang pengaruh Islam menjadi hal yang penting dilakukan dalam studi ini. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk pengaruh Islam yang terdapat dalam naskah KUSR dan kaitannya dengan perkembangan Islam di Sulawesi Selatan. Dengan demikian, wacana-wacana keislaman terutama tasawuf dapat dilihat sebagai faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap transmisi ilmu sains dan falak masyarakat Bugis abad ke-19. ملخص البحث:
 تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على تطور مفهوم ظاهرة التلازم اللفظي عند كل من اللغويين الغربيين والعرب من خلال الكشف عن إسهام كل منهم في تأطير هذه الظاهرة اللغوية. ومن خلال المنهج الاستقرائي قامت الدراسة بتتبع أهم المصادر العربية والإنجليزية القديمة والحديثة التي تناولت هذه الظاهرة واستقرائها. لقد تبيّن من الدراسة أن العرب كانوا أول من تنبه إلى تلك الظاهرة، فتناولوها في مصنفاتهم تحت مسميات مختلفة ضمن دراسات فقه اللغة وعلى وجه التحديد ضمن مجال دلالات الكلمات ومعانيها، ومعاجم المعاني؛ غير أن اهتمامهم توقف عند هذا الحد فلم يعملوا على تأطير التلازم اللفظي وإخضاعها للدراسة المنهجية، ولم يضعوا لها مفهوما ولا قاعدة. وفي النصف الأول من القرن العشرين توجهت الأنظار مجددا إلى ظاهرة التلازم اللفظي، ولكن على يد اللغوي الإنجليزي فيرث الذي درس الظاهرة تحت مسمى تلازم (Collocation) وقدم مفهوماً لها، وجاء تلامذته من بعده فأكملوا ما بدأه وأضافوا إليه.

 Abstract:
 
 This study aims to shed light on the development of the concept of collocation from western and Arab linguists’ perspective by showing how each of them addressed this linguistic phenomenon. Through an inductive approach, the study tracked and induced the most important Arabic and English، old and modern references that focused on this phenomenon. The study shows that the Arabs were the first to alert to this phenomenon. They mentioned it in their books using different names and studied it as a part of philology، specifically in the field of semantics and lexicons. However، their interest stopped at this point. They did not go further to develop a concept and form a rule. In the first half of the twentieth century, the English linguist Firth، who studied the phenomenon، named it “Collocation”. Later, Firth’s students studied his findings and researched them further.

 Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menumpukan kepada perkembangan konsep kolokasi dari perspektif sarjana bahasa Arab dan Barat dengan menyorot pendekatan setiap mereka teradap perkara ini. Melalui pendekatan induktif, kajian ini telah menjejaki dan mengeluarkan senarai rujukan Bahasa Arab dan Barat yang mengupas tajuk ini. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa sarjana Arab adalah yang mula-mula menyedari tentang hal ini. Mereka menggunakan pelbagai istilah untuk menunjukkannya dan mengakajinya sebagai sebahagian daripada filologi terutamanya dalam bidang semantic dan leksis. Walaubagaimanapun usaha mereka terhenti di situ tanpa berakhir dengan konsep dan kaedah. Firth kemudiannya pada abad ke 20 mengkaji fenomena in dan menamaknnya kolokasi yang kemudiannya dikembangkan lagi oleh murid-muridnya.

Almagest is the summa of the ancient astronomical knowledge. it has been translated several times, into Latin, into Syriac, into Arabic. Present study tries to analyze the latin and arabic translations.<br>Questa tesi è un saggio di analisi delle traduzioni del trattato tolemaico, e propone un'edizione critica del primo libro. l'intento è sia quello di individuare le tecniche seguite dai traduttori, sia quello di verificare le lezioni testuali nel passaggio da un sistema linguistico e culturale ad un altro.

Saladino (Salāḥ al-Dīn nel mondo arabo-islamico) è il re che, dopo aver riunito il Medio Oriente islamico, riuscì a liberare (riconquistare, secondo l'Occidente cristiano) Gerusalemme, la città sacra a tre religioni. La reazione a tale impresa fu la terza crociata, guidata da diversi sovrani, fra i quali Riccardo Cuor di Leone. Alla figura storica del Saladino si sovrappose ben presto una figura letteraria dello stesso sovrano, caratterizzata da aspetti assai dissimili fra loro a seconda che a narrare le gesta del Saladino fosse un testo occidentale oppure uno di ambito arabo-islamico. Nella presente tesi si cerca di dare conto della figura letteraria del Saladino secondo tali differenti prospettive, con particolare attenzione per i testi medievali occidentali e per quelli arabo-islamici entro il secolo XVI.

El objetivo de la tesis doctoral ha sido el estudio de un grupo de manuscritos árabes de carácter científico. La relación que existe entre ellos es que contienen las traducciones al árabe del almanaque de Zacuto. En Salamanca, el astrónomo y astrólogo Abraham Zacuto compuso en 1478 un almanaque titulado Ha-Ḥibbur ha-gadol (La gran composición) en lengua hebrea utilizando el año 1473 como fecha radix, y a partir de esta obra, José Vizinho elaboró dos versiones resumidas de carácter práctico a las que llamó Almanach Perpetuum que apareció por primera vez en dos ediciones impresas distintas, ambas en Leiría (Portugal) en 1496, una con los cánones en latín y otra con los cánones en castellano, pero en ambas, los cabezales de las tablas astronómicas aparecen en latín. El almanaque de Zacuto fue traducido al árabe, al menos en dos ocasiones: la primera fue elaborada por Mūsā Ŷālīnūs en 1505-06 en Oriente, probablemente en Estambul, y otra traducción la realizó al-Ḥaŷarī hacia 1624 en Marruecos. La traducción de Mūsā Ŷālīnūs debe considerarse una versión resumida y se conserva únicamente en el manuscrito nº 966 de la biblioteca de El Escorial, algo que demuestra su escasa difusión aunque este manuscrito ha resultado ser muy interesante por otras razones. Un ejemplo de ello es que, tras el estudio de sus cánones y tablas, he podido comprobar, en primer lugar, que no se trata de una única unidad elaborada por Mūsā Ŷālīnūs sino que contiene una segunda serie de cánones que ha resultado ser una traducción casi literal de algunos capítulos del Almanch Perpetuum. Esto nos sitúa ante la posible existencia de otro traductor no identificado hasta el momento. Los cánones de Ŷālīnūs, parecen estar basados en el Ḥibbur y no parece que Ŷālīnūs utilizase el Almanach Perpetuum, en cambio las tablas astronómicas, copiadas por la misma mano que los cánones, coinciden con las tablas de la edición de latina del Almanch Perpetuum. La traducción de al-Ḥaŷarī se ha conservado en cinco manuscritos procedentes de distintas zonas del mundo árabe y esto muestra que su traducción alcanzó un amplio número de lectores desde Marruecos hasta Yemen. Todo lo anterior ha implicado elaborar dos ediciones críticas, una de ellas a partir de la versión de Ŷālīnūs y la segunda serie de cánones compilada tras la anterior, y otra edición ha sido elaborada a partir de los cinco manuscritos donde se conserva la traducción de al-Ḥaŷarī. Tras esto, he editado los cabezales de las tablas astronómicas en su forma latina y árabe para someterlas a un estudio comparativo, he analizado las numerosas notas marginales que aparecen en los manuscritos árabes y he comparado el contenido de estas traducciones con el contenido del Almanach Perpetuum analizando los diferentes parámetros astronómicos y procedimientos utilizados en las diferentes copias. Finalmente, he detallado los aspectos lingüísticos más relevantes que muestran cómo se adaptó el Almanach Perpetuum a la lengua árabe.<br>The aim of my dissertation is a group of scientific Arabic manuscripts. The relationship between them is that they contain the Arabic translations of the Zacut’s Almanach Perpetuum. The fifteenth-century astronomer and astrologer Abraham Zacut composed in Hebrew an almanac entitled Ha-Ḥibbur ha-gadol (The Great Compilation) in Salamanca in 1478, using 1473 as date radix. Jose Vizinho made two eminently practical summaries of this work, which he called the Almanach Perpetuum which first appeared in two different printed editions, both at Leiria (Portugal) in 1496, and each version contains canons, in Latin or Spanish respectively that are followed by a set of Latin astronomical tables. Zacut’s work was soon translated into Arabic, and until now several manuscripts of the Arabic translations as well as of various Arabic commentaries on this work could be identified. The first Arabic version from the Zacut’s almanac was made in the East by Mūsā Jālīnūs in 1505-06 and de the second, in the Maghreb by al-Ḥajarī. Mūsā Jālīnūs’s version is preserved in a single manuscript (nº 966 in the Library of El Escorial) containing two sets of canons. The second translation into Arabic is by Aḥmad ben Qasim al-Ḥajarī al-Andalusī (made around 1630) and it is preserved in five manuscripts. His translation reached a wide readership from the 17th until 19th centuries. The main objective of my research has been, based on selected manuscripts, to produce an edition of the Arabic translation of Zacut’s Almanach Perpetuum. This involved a) to produce a critical edition of the canons in the Arabic version of the Almanach; b) to edit the headings of the astronomical tables, in their Latin and Arabic forms, and to subject them to a comparative study; c) to analyze the numerous marginal notes in the Arabic manuscripts, as the provide important evidence for establishing a stemma of the manuscripts. This would then serve as the starting point for d) a detailed linguistic comparison of the manuscripts and an analysis of the differing astronomical parameters and procedures used in the different copies. Finally, based on the above finds, e) diffusion of the Almanach Perpetuum in the Muslim world from the 16th century onwards, where the text had acquired noticeable popularity among astronomers and astrologers alike, could be traced.

Los tratados médico-farmacológicos del toledano Ibn Wāfid (siglo XI) tuvieron considerable influencia en la medicina árabe y judía medieval. El presente trabajo está dedicado a la parte de los simples de origen animal en la versión hebrea (del siglo XV) de su tratado Kitāb al-Adwiyah al-Mufradah, "Libro de los Medicamentos Simples". El estudio está basado en el ms. Moscú Guenzburg 766/2, combinado con una meticulosa comparación con otras versiones del tratado, principalmente la latina y la catalana. El trabajo consiste de los siguientes capítulos: 1. Introducción, que incluye novedades codicológicas y paleográficas, metodología y una biografía de Ibn Wāfid. 2. Edición crítica del texto. 3. Traducción comentada. 4. Capítulo donde se intenta rastrear el origen del texto hebreo y su relación con las versiones en otras lenguas. Entre otras, se presenta también la conclusión innovadora de que probablemente existía algún vínculo entre la versión hebrea y la versión catalana del tratado. 5. Capítulo que analiza la lengua en el texto, que contiene curiosos elementos árabes, hebreos y romances. Se presta especial atención al registro peculiar del traductor, excepcionalmente arabizado 6. Gosario que se centra en la terminología médico-anatómica, e incluye términos hebreos difíciles o ambiguos, algunos no recogidos por ninguna otra fuente. 7. Conclusiones, índices, anexos y una lista bibliográfica. El estudio, de corte multidisciplinar, pretende ser de interés para arabistas, hebraístas, romanistas e investigadores de la historia de la medicina árabe. El trabajo concierne también otras áreas de conocimiento, como la botánica, la zoología y la traductología.<br>The medical-pharmacological treatise of Ibn Wafid of Toledo (XI century) had a considerable influence on Arab and Jewish medieval medicine. The present paper relates to the Hebrew version of Kitāb al-Adwiya al-Mufrada (The Book on Simple Drugs), in particular, the section dealing with drugs of animal origin. The study is based on the Moscow Guenzburg 766/2 manuscript, along with a meticulous comparison with other versions of the treatise, especially the Latin and Catalan versions. The paper consists of the following chapters: 1. An introduction, which includes codicological and paleographical new findings, methodology and a biography of Ibn Wāfid. 2. A critical edition of the text. 3. A commentated translation. 4. A chapter which attempts to track down the origin of the Hebrew text and its relation with versions in other languages. One of the new conclusions presented is that apparently a linkage existed between the Hebrew and the Catalan versions of the treatise. 5. A chapter that analyzes the language in the text, which contains curious Arab, Hebrew and Romance elements. Special attention is paid to the peculiar language of the translator, which is exceptionally arabicized. 6. A medical-anatomical glossary focusing on Hebrew terms that are of obscure or difficult interpretation, some of which do not appear in any other source. 7. Conclusion, indexes, appendices and a bibliography. The research, being of a multidisciplinary character, aspires to be of interest to researchers of Hebrew, Arab and Romance Philology, as well as for investigators of the History of Arabic Medicine. The study also concerns other fields of knowledge such as Zoology, Botany and Translation Studies.

Le travail a consisté à réaliser l’édition commentée de l’Itinerario de Vartema (Rome,1510), compte-rendu écrit par Vartema à l’issue de son voyage, qui le mena de Venise aux Indes en passant par l’Arabie (1503-08). Bien que ce texte ait donné lieu à plusieurs éditions dans plusieurs langues européennes, il n’a en effet jamais fait l’objet d‘une édition critique. Le voyage eut lieu au moment où les grandes découvertes bouleversèrent l’image du monde: il s’agissait du premier voyage par voie de terre effectué par un occidental au moment où les Portugais créèrent la route commerciale maritime des épices. Vartema est un homme fascinant qui a endossé avec aisance des rôles très éloignés de la mentalité occidentale, nous laissant un document unique dans sa manière de reformuler son expérience. L’objet de la recherche se situe au carrefour de plusieurs disciplines: l’histoire littéraire, la philologie, la littérature de voyage, l’histoire de la géographie, du livre et des sciences<br>The aim of this research is the preparation of an annotated critical edition of the de Ludovico de Vartema bolognese of Bologna (1st ed. Rome, 1510). This is a record written by Vartema on his way back from a journey which took him from Venice to the East Indies and through Arabia between 1503 and 1508. It gives an account of the first journey made by a western man after the Portuguese created their commercial empire. Although in the sixteenth century several editions of this work in many languages were issued, it has never before been the subject of a critical edition. Vartema’s Itinerario is the account of a charming man who was able to get inside the minds of people distant from the western mentality. He has left us a unique document since the way his experiences have been told is poised among many disciplines including: political philology, language history, text analysis, history and geography, science book history, travel literature<br>Copo del presente lavoro di ricerca è stata la realizzazione dell’edizione critica commentata dell’Itinerario de Ludovico de Vartema bolognese (Roma,1510). Si tratta del resoconto scritto da Vartema al ritorno dal suo viaggio, che lo portò da Venezia alle Indie orientali, passando per l’Arabia, tra il 1503 e il 1508. Si tratta del primo viaggio effettuato da un occidentale nel momento in cui i Portoghesi crearono il loro impero commerciale. Sebbene nel sedicesimo secolo questo testo abbia visto numerose edizioni in molte lingue, non è mai stato oggetto di un’edizione critica. Lo studio dell’Itinerario di Vartema - uomo affascinante che si cala facilmente in ruoli molto lontano dalla mentalità occidentale e che ci lascia un documento unico per il modo in cui l’esperienza vi è raccontata - si situa al centro degli sguardi incrociati di molte discipline: filologia politica, storia della lingua, analisi del testo, storia e geografia, storia del libro delle scienze, letteratura di viaggio

Progetto di edizione critica dei trattati teologici del vescovo di Gaza Sulayman al-Gazzi vissuto tra il X-XI secolo. Viene presentato il metodo filologico adottato per mettere a frutto il progetto editoriale nonché esposta la questione linguistica del medio arabo in cui i testi sono stati scritti. Oltre all'edizione critica corredata di apparati critici, il lavoro comprende la traduzione commentata in italiano.

This research deals with the urban variety of Arabic spoken in the City of Homs, or Hims, the third important city in Syria situated in its biggest province.Several scholars have attempted a classification of the most important features of Arabic varieties, but none of these has described Homs Arabic, which is why this work is designed to provide a linguistic documentation of this local variety by defining the main phonological, morphological and syntactic features of al-lahža l-ḥumṣiyya, but also presenting some interesting aspects of Homs history and traditions.

De ce este atât de importantă cultura în epoci în care prăpastia dintre sărăcie și bunăstare atinge cote îngrijorătoare? Subiectele pe această temă par de-a dreptul hilare în vremurile pandemice cu care ne confruntăm. Cu toate acestea, cultura continuă să fie considerată formă de recuperare a umanului în fața oricăror crize ale umanității. Nu face excepție nici cultura română, recuperată, uneori, din straturile istoriei altor culturi. Tunisia este o țară din nordul Africii care oferă o interesantă hartă culturală a unor români celebri, consacrați aici prin traduceri ale operei lor în limba arabă sau, în alte cazuri, personalități românești care au marcat istoria culturală a Tunisiei, cum este George Sebastian.
