Full textThis thesis is a critical analysis of Arturo Andres Roig’s (Mendoza, 1922-2012), philosophical thinking; the process of constituting the concept of anthropological a priori is followed for this purpose, as are also the implications that it has in its theoretical proposal. Roig develops a Latin American philosophy that shows modern philosophy’s traits, namely: criticality, rationality, normativity. When facing the twentieth century debate that existed in the sixties and the seventies concerning whether an American philosophy exists, Roig postulates the construction of a theory of Latin American thinking. Following Hegel (Lessons of the Philosophy of History), Roig considers that Philosophy does not have a beginning in fact but in law and that it is rooted on anthropological a priori, on every man’s possibility of becoming the conscious subject of his own value and of the dignity of thinking of himself as such. In order to formulate the concept of anthropological a priori, Roig starts a dialogue and a debate with modern Western philosophy, especially with Kant´s and Hegel´s; in his judgement, they already formulated the concept, but not in a way that is acceptable to Roig, because both start from consciousness and not from reality or empiricity; in other words, they start from the independent world of consciousness. Anthropological a priori is the foundation of the history of ideas; in other words, it is the foundation of the historical fact that is registered in terms of that discipline. For that reason, Roig’s Latin American philosophy is a criticism of the historical reasoning on which the historical fact is based. The present research, therefore, will examine both the constitution of the concept of Roig’s anthropological a priori and its articulation with a plural self-conscious subject (we) with historicity, empiricity and freedom.

Full textThis doctoral research develops a study of the problematic of human emancipation, both in the work of Marx and in the work of the first Latin American Marxists who in a significant way incorporated and systematized dialectical materialism in their own sense and from a Latin Americanist perspective. The treatment of this problematic is studied throughout the entire work of Marx, and throughout the entire work of Anibal Ponce, Julio Antonio Mella and José Carlos Mariátegui. An analytical-critical method is used based on the review and the analysis of primary sources, as well as the contrast of multiple studies on them, as a philosophical cartography or a biography of the concepts. The study is made up of two closely interconnected parts. The treatment of the problematic in Marx, to whom the first part is dedicated, has been taken as an epistemic reference point; and from this the treatment of the same problematic is diagrammed in the rest of the authors, to whom the second part is dedicated as three parallel monographs. From the individualized analysis of each author, a contrast assessment of all of them is carried out, taking into account common or equivalent arguments, inflection points and own perspectives. Throughout the thesis, particularities of the treatment of this problematic are defined and systematized based on key concepts and arguments. Contextual elements and referential sources are analyzed and contrasted, taking into account their incidence. Epistemic, philosophical-political, ethical and ontological components, as well as historical and socio-economic components in relation with the problematic of human emancipation are analyzed and valued both in Marx, Ponce, Mella and Mariátegui.
Liuzzo, Rossella.
Full textThe proposed research aims to demonstrate the relevance of the category of repetition in the critical approach of the novels Tres tristes tigres (1967) by Cuban Guillermo Cabrera Infante and La guaracha del Macho Camacho (1976) by Puerto Rican Luis Rafael Sánchez. The working hypothesis that is formulated aims to demonstrate that repetition, in its contemporary meaning of differentiating and decentralizing repetition, acts as a structuring mechanism that overdetermines the different levels of the literary message. . Through the study of the various forms of repetition, used primarily as a hermeneutic tool, an attempt will be made to shed light on the systematic and corrosive deconstruction of symbolic identities, carried out by contemporary aesthetics through the game between sameness and alterity. Based on the above, a further objective of the work is to undertake an approach to the Caribbean narrative from conceptual horizons that are not strictly literary but taken instead from contemporary philosophy. The research is divided into three blocks: in the first chapter, the idea of repetition that structures and sustains research is presented in its conceptual and historical significance. Without claiming to be exhaustive, but delving deeply into the chosen philosophical corpus, this space provides the conceptual paradigms of reference necessary to trace the boundaries of the proposed philosophical intuition. The latter is in fact both primordial and, at the same time, encompassing a vast spectrum of underlying meanings. The second chapter deals with the repetition in Tres tristes tigres (1967) based on two fundamental principles of neo-baroque repetition: organized variation and intertextual dialogism. With regard to the first one, the double modality acquired by the game of oscillations between what is repeated and what differs is analyzed: the variation of an identical one and the identity of several different ones. Whereas, in conjunction with the second principle, those discursive configurations are explored in which the reiterative gear subsumes certain intertextual operations through which a series of hypotexts are grafted and transformed, whose footprints continue to be read in filigree. The main objective is to demonstrate that the order of a chaotic work like TTT, far from being an a priori one, constitutes a fieri, in which the "sense" is constantly "produced in" and "displaced by" repetition. In the third chapter, the value of repetition is investigated in La guaracha del Macho Camacho, following a hermeneutical route that unfolds through three different interpretive aspects. In the first place, the study of repetition at the linguistic level is considered as a characteristic of the invasive radiophonic speech, typical of mass societies. Secondly, repetition is explored as a fundamental mechanism of kitsch as "ideologema de la copia": thus understood, it designs a new arena for negotiation of social instances that, in La Guaracha, are excluded from any documentary treatment. Finally, we explore the relationship between the imaginary generated and transmitted by the mass media and the mechanism that J. Butler defines as "performative identity iteration": a repetition of performative gestures -or performances- that, repeated and stylized in space outside of the body, structure and shape the identity.

Problematizamos a inserção do diálogo intercultural no ensino do direito em entrevistas a diferentes atores do meio jurídico, tanto acadêmicos quanto juristas atuantes.

Full textThis PHD thesis explores the Latin American bioethics and its evolution, assessing intentional and non-intentional connections with the dominant international bioethical theories. The discussion examines the development of bioethics in Latin American sub-continent, emphasizing the development of moral theories that delimitate the interpretative horizon of the contemporary debate, as well as the peculiarities of the South American production in the field of bioethics and the case history of this geographical area. For a sound understanding of the features of the bioethical thought, typical of a developing territory, the thesis introduces the discussion of two specific case studies: A- The Peruvian project: Propuesta de incorporación of intercultural enfoque y en los de representantes indígenas comités ética en de países multiculturales; B- Biomedicine and xenotransplantation in Mexico. The analysis of these case studies puts in light the constitutive features of Latin American thought and the case history of the area. The Latin American bioethics, developed about twenty years later compared to the places of birth of this discipline (UK and USA), claims the need for a local (indigenous) bioethical debate and practices, in order to include the concepts and principles declinable within the experiences and practical needs that arise in the specific cultural and socio-economic context. For this reason, Latin American Bioethics differs from the so-called classical theories of bioethics, seeking a dispute inherently tied to Human Rights (Based Approach). This work also proposes a reflection on processes and outcomes of the globalization of bioethics, based on the data that emerged from the case studies. The analysis uses Sociology, Economics and Politics tools and categories in order to highlight the different components and the critical issues of global bioethics.

Full textOur purpose in this research is twofold. On one hand, it is to examine the relations that the concept of universality maintains with the Latin American proposal of « local », « inculturated » philosophy, and therefore to examine the contributions of critical Latin American philosophies to the debate on universalism and culturalism. In a context where universalism is for all intents ans purposes the effect of an ethnocentric and homogenizing globalization (monological universalism), and faced with the demands of differences as identities that are predetermined and closed to fundamentalism risks, a new and genuine universalism as intercultural dialogue presents itself as an interesting alternative to the dilemma between universalism and particularity. On the other hand, our purpose is to present crtical thinking in Latin America today, in this sense, our work is organized around a single figure, namely Enrique Dussel, in order to deepen ties between Latin American philosophy of liberation and certain currents of European (Emmanuel Levinas's metaphysics of alterity and Karl-Otto Apel's discourse ethics in particular) and Latin American philosophy (Leopoldo Zea and Augusto Salazar Bondy on one hand, and the current names « Modernity/Coloniality group », « post-Occidentalism » or « decolonial theories » on the other). To see these research perspectives through, the following plan will be adopted. To understand the intention of the paradigm shift claimed by Dussel's philosophy of liberation, this work takes as its starting point the presentation of different contexts (philosophical, historical, political, economic, cultural, etc) and the origins of philosophy of liberation. In the second part, we study a specific way, using a diachronic approach of Dussel's ethics of liberation, which was developed through dialogue with various authors. We specifically and critically study Levinas's influence on philosophy of liberation, and of its extensive dialogue with Apel's discourse ethics. Finally, the last part of our research raises the question of timeliness, or rather the current problems of philosophy of liberation, through internal and external criticism that has been directed at the school of thought over the last four decades. Using these issues, our research aims to contribue to the task, from our point of view both urgent and necessary, of thinking philosophically from within a global mindset

This work has as its purpose describing and analyzing the creation, emergence, legitimization, and propagation process of the theory named bioethics of intervention. Aware of the historical, political, and ideological dimension of this bioethics’ position, we have opted to write a text in the shape of a historiographical register, based in a hermeneutic critic and dialogical capable of comporting the epistemic plurality which may be able to build a bioethical pluralism rooted in the concrete Latin-American reality. We work on the assumption that bioethics of intervention arose in a context of contestation against neoliberalism and having the “periphery” as the place of creation and enunciation of knowledge, it constitutes itself on a proposal, which is plurally and universally open to the inter-epistemic interaction of other knowledge that are at service to the autonomy building processes. In its horizon, there can be found the liberation of the oppressed people and groups from the planet, victims of unjust power structures which give support to the disparity relations historically built based on the need to conform capitalist world-system. With the purpose to contribute with its epistemological consolidation, we have made some considerations about the theoretical referential and we have presented some suggestions objectifying the overcoming of some identified concerns. In order to avoid a speciesist approach –given its strong connection to human rights–, we are suggesting the inclusion of nature’s rights in its theoretical framework. As a way of insurgence against western rationality by the dominant epistemologies, we have proposed the adoption of an inter-epistemic and sentipensante bioethical reflection, in which to sense and to think (emotion and reason) interacts with one another to produce knowledge. Ensuring that its interventional practice never takes place in an authoritarian manner, disrespecting the protagonism and auto-determination from the subjects to whom is destined bioethics action, we aggregate the critical inter-culturally perspective against bioethical pluralism proposed by the bioethics of intervention. We consider that the militant character of bioethics of intervention will always imply in the establishments of relations with the State’s institutions; we have reflected on the tensions provided from such relationship and we have presented the need to refound the State, looking for inspiration in the recent experiences in Bolivia and Ecuador, which in its turn have resulted in the construction of a pluralist State inspired by the Good Living paradigm.

Full textThe aim of this dissertation is to show the two main categories present in the philosophy of Leopoldo Zea: circumstance and miscegenation, seeking evidence that could contribute to the educational thought. Thought of Leopoldo Zea, Mexican philosopher of the twentieth century is the basis of Philosophy of Liberation and began his research with the aim of understand the man from his reality more closer, the Mexico. Does the man can as a concrete person, of flesh and bone, inserted in their circumstances, with which dialogue dialectically: it transforms them at the same time, which is transformed by them. The circumstances are their life situation, in which he demonstrates their concreteness and express their freedom. The man is conceived as a historical entity that participates in the triple temporal dimension (past-presentfuture) and builds the history as it faced the problems presented by the circumstances. From this perspective, search the identity of the Latin American man who must understand how mestizo and recognize his condition dependency socio-cultural so he can begin a process of release of any situation of oppression. The liberation of man from his reliance on sociocultural is only possible through the historical understanding and knowledge of oneself. Hence the proposition that education is to train men free, requiring a critical and popular education to dialogue with the concrete reality

Full textIn the face of a decline in community membership within Christianity, where a gradual increase in the number of those who declare themselves as Christians but do not give rise to community membership is observed, this study intends to characterize the demand for the "preferential option for the poor", pastoral model of Pope Francis, as a proposal to reassess the community identity of the Christian experience. To speak of poverty requires a somber and conscious speech, one that does not remain solely on the words, but which fulfills itself in gestures and actions that enhance the integral development of the people. In this sense, this study elaborates a conceptual approach to poverty, evidencing the economic, social and anthropological dimensions, and presents the theological fundaments of Pope Francis, in hope of a better understanding of this proposal as the preferential option the poor. At last, it is formulated a list of criteria for a pastoral community which values the preferential option for the poor.
