Abstract:
L’effet de la moxidectine sur la prévalence des infections par les nématodes chez les bovins, ainsi que sur la production d’oeufs des fèces et la contamination sur des pâturages collectifs a été évalué dans le district de Tororo en Ouganda. Dans le premier essai, un groupe traité et un autre non traité de 40 bovins chacun ont été suivis pendant une période de 12 semaines, alors que dans le deuxième essai un groupe traité et un autre non traité de 30 bovins chacun ont été suivis pendant sept mois. Dans le premier essai, la prévalence d’infection par les nématodes ainsi que le nombre moyen d’oeufs des fèces du groupe traité sont restés significativement (p < 0,05) moins importants que ceux du groupe non traité du 7e au 84e jour. Dans le deuxième essai, les traitements stratégiques ont d’abord entraîné une réduction du nombre d’oeufs de 100 p. 100 chez les bovins traités, alors que cette réduction a été de 82 p. 100 chez les bovins non traités. Par la suite, le nombre moyen d’oeufs des fèces du groupe traité est resté en dessous de 60 pendant six mois, alors que celui du groupe non traité a fluctué en fonction de la pluviométrie entre 63 et 400. De plus, la contamination au pâturage par des larves infestantes des bovins traités a été significativement (p < 0,05) plus faible que celle du groupe non traité pendant la saison humide. Les infestations au pâturage par Haemonchus spp., Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp. et Trichostrongylus spp. ont été respectivement trois fois, cinq fois, quatre fois et deux fois moins importantes chez les bovins traités que chez les bovins non traités. La moxidectine pourrait être utilisée dans la lutte stratégique contre les parasites dans les conditions de gestion communale des pâturages en Afrique tropicale par le traitement sélectif des groupes d’âges de bovins les plus affectés à la mi- et à la fin de la saison des pluies pour réduire la contamination au pâturage.

Ce consentement de l'Etat de respecter des nouvelles obligations se manifeste tout d'abord par la ratification du traité, ou par l'adhésion à celuici.Le 8 juin 1977, la Conférence diplomatique sur la réaffirmation et le développement du droit international humanitaire applicable dans les conflits armés, a adopté les deux Protocoles additionnels aux Conventions de Genève et, le 10 juin, elle a pris fin. Pendant les dix ans qui se sont écoulés depuis lors, la Croix-Rouge a entrepris des efforts considérables pour faire accepter les deux Protocoles. Le but de ces lignes est de relater ce que le Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR) a fait en faveur des Protocoles. D'autre articles présentent plus particulièrement l'activité de quelques Sociétés nationales par rapport à ces Protocoles. Des problèmes d'interprétation des Protocoles ne seront pas traités dans cet exposé.

La « protection du travail national » par le développement de l’identification et des barrières aux frontières vient se substituer à une régulationex postfondée sur l’utilitarisme et la subsidiarité (sauf à bénéficier d’une protection sociale communale, les étrangers tombant dans l’indigence étaient menacés d’expulsion). À l’avènement de cette xénophobie institutionnelle, les réformateurs sociaux, bientôt relayés par le Bureau international du Travail, opposent la signature de traités bilatéraux et de conventions internationales rapprochant les droits sociaux des migrants – chômage, retraite, contrat de travail, etc. – de ceux des nationaux. Tout en ayant permis le développement des assurances sociales et de l’État-providence, ces engagements transnationaux interrogent l’exercice de la souveraineté étatique, selon des modalités perpétuées de nos jours par le recours au traité de Gotha de 1851 pour administrer les flux de réfugiés.

Introduction : La supraclusion est l’une des malocclusions les plus courantes et les plus difficiles à traiter. Le véritable challenge reste le maintien de cette correction au fil du temps. Les preuves scientifiques en rapport avec la stabilité de la correction de la supraclusion sont limitées. En parcourant la littérature orthodontique, une seule revue systématique portant sur ce sujet avait été retrouvée. À la lumière de récentes publications ayant trait à la stabilité des résultats de traitement de la supraclusion et de nouveaux procédés utilisés pour éviter la récidive de ces traitements, cette unique revue doit être réactualisée. Le but de cette étude est d’évaluer, par une revue systématique, la stabilité à long terme des traitements de la supraclusion. Matériel et méthodes : Une stratégie de recherche appliquée sur des bases de données a été utilisée pour retrouver toutes les études consacrées à la stabilité et la récidive à long terme des traitements de la supraclusion. Les écrits pertinents pour une inclusion dans cette revue ont été retrouvés et analysés. Leur qualité scientifique a été évaluée et leurs données ont été extraites et résumées. Résultats : Le taux de récidive était de 47,27 %. Celui des patients traités en technique bioprogressive et celui de ceux traités en technique d’arc droit était respectivement de 30,38 % et 67,74 %. Les sujets pris en charge à la fin de l’adolescence présentaient un taux de récidive de 14,3 %, tandis que ceux traités au début de l’adolescence ou à l’âge adulte avaient un taux respectivement égal à 30 % et 30,8 %. L’administration de botox permettait d’obtenir une stabilité des traitements orthodontico-chirurgicaux de la supraclusion à 100 %. Conclusion : L’âge du début de traitement et la technique thérapeutique constituent deux facteurs pronostics de la stabilité à long terme des traitements de la supraclusion incisive.

Abstract:
Nous avons analysé les effets métaboliques, en particulier les variations du cholestérol HDL, du jeûne du mois de ramadan chez 25 diabétiques de type 2 bien équilibrés traités par le régime ou les antidiabétiques oraux. Nos patients ont été évalués trois semaines avant le ramadan, durant la quatrième semaine du mois de ramadan et trois semaines aprés le mois de ramadan. Cette évaluation a comporté une enquête clinique, une enquête nutritionnelle et des analyses biologiques. Le jeûne du mois de ramadan n’a pas eu d’influence sur le poids, la tension artérielle, la glycémie, la fructosamine et l’hémoglobine A1c. Nous avons trouvé une relation négative entre les variations du cholestérol HDL et la consommation alimentaire de cholestérol. Le cholestérol HDL a augmenté de 13 % à la fin du jeûne et de 23 % trois semaines après la fin du jeûne chez les diabétiques ayant eu une consommation alimentaire de cholestérol inférieure à 400 mg/j

L'étude des relations diplomatiques dans le monde méditerranéen médiéval occupe aujourd'hui une place importante chez les historiens qui essaient de retracer l'histoire des rapports entre le monde latin et les pays d'Islam, tout particulièrement entre les principales villes marchandes européennes comme Venise, Gênes, Pise, Florence, Barcelone et le sultanat mamelouk. Bien que la plupart des historiens aient pour but d'éditer, de rééditer et d'étudier les traités de paix et les correspondances conservés dans les centres d'archives européennes, ils n'ont pas montré un intérêt sumsant pour les petites villes européennes impliquées dans le commerce méditerranéen, et qui ont eu des rapports diplomatiques très limités avec le sultanat mamelouk vers la fin du XIVe et au XVe siècle. Parmi ces villes, il y a Rhodes, qui, avec la conclusion d'un traité avec le sultanat mamelouk en 1403, a essayé de prendre place sur la carte politique et économique en Méditerranée orientale. Ce traité est le seul document qui nous est parvenu attestant un accord entre le Grand Maître des Hospitaliers Philibert de Naillac et le sultan Faraj. Il est conservé aux archives de Malte, parmi les bulles de chancellerie (folio 172), publié par Sebastiano Paoli en 1737 (Paoli 1737 : 108-110).

Abstract:
La dénonciation et la renégociation sont deux notions qui ne partagent pas de traits caractéristiques communs. L’une est un acte unilatéral qui met fin à la participation d’un Etat à un traité, tandis que l’autre consiste à mener un dialogue entre les Etats parties à un traité en vue de maintenir le lien conventionnel tout en lui apportant des changements substantiels. Cependant, les Etats ont souvent recours à la dénonciation et à la renégociation d’un traité comme solution alternative pour un même motif, à savoir un changement de circonstances. Ce constat a suscité notre intérêt d’étudier l’articulation de la dénonciation et la renégociation lorsqu’elles portent sur un même traité, notamment quand elles sont invoquées simultanément. Cette thèse soutient l’omniprésence d’une possibilité de renégocier le traité dans tous les cas de dénonciation. Toutefois, la renégociation peut ne jamais se manifester, compte tenu notamment du traité en question et des circonstances entourant la dénonciation de celui-ci. Il s’agirait dans un tel cas d’une possibilité dormante. Nous soutenons également que la renégociation n’opère qu’avant la prise d’effet de la dénonciation. L’étude du régime juridique et des effets de ces deux notions démontre que la dénonciation et la renégociation sont en effet procéduralement liées. Elles obéissent ainsi à certaines conditions communes et sont gouvernées par des principes communs. Par ailleurs, bien que leurs effets soient a priori opposés, ceux-ci s’entrelacent à plusieurs égards. Enfin, il ressort de cette étude que la dénonciation et la renégociation des traités jouent un rôle pivot dans l’atténuation de la tension entre les exigences de stabilité juridique et de mutation sociale. Elles sont des outils d’adaptation, et de ce fait, constituent des éléments de flexibilité du traité permettant de gérer les risques liés à l’évolution de la société en offrant un moyen de réaménager le traité ou de s’en libérer, selon les circonstances<br>Denunciation and renegotiation are two notions that do not share common features. One is a unilateral act that terminates a State’s participation in a treaty, whereas the other is a dialogue between States parties to a treaty aiming to maintain the conventional relationship while making substantial changes to it. Nonetheless, States often resort to the denunciation and the renegotiation of a treaty as an alternative solution for the same reason, namely a change of circumstances. This observation aroused our interest in studying the interaction between denunciation and renegotiation when they relate to the same treaty, in particular when they are invoked simultaneously. This thesis supports the omnipresence of the possibility of renegotiating the treaty in all cases of denunciation. However, a renegotiation may never occur, particularly in view of the treaty in question and the circumstances surrounding its denunciation. In such a case, it would be a dormant possibility. We also argue that renegotiation only takes place before the denunciation takes effect. A study of the legal regime and the effects of these two concepts shows that denunciation and renegotiation are in fact procedurally linked. They thus obey certain common conditions and are governed by common principles. Moreover, although their effects are seemingly divergent, these are intertwined in several respects. Finally, this study shows that denunciation and renegotiation of treaties play a pivotal role in reducing the tension between the requirements of legal stability and social change. They are tools for adaptation, and thus constitute elements of treaty flexibility that allow to manage the risks associated with social change by providing a means of rearranging the treaty or to break away from it, depending on the circumstances

Le travail est basé sur l'édition scientifique de trois traités antihérétiques anonymes et inédits. L'étude menée à partir de cette édition a permis d'apporter un éclairage nouveau sur la compréhension de la construction du discours antihérétique. Il apparaît que ces traités ne présentent pas une hérésie cathare constituée comme une vraie religion. Il faut les comprendre comme un ensemble de chapitres qui sont autant de problèmes qui peuvent se poser à propos du dogme catholique, problèmes qui ne sont pas envisagés comme solidaires les uns des autres mais comme susceptibles de se poser de façon autonome. Ces traités ont été rédigés par un compilateur plus que par un auteur, puisqu'il s'agit de textes qui sont constitués par l'organisation d'autorités réparties par thèmes. Le but de ce compilateur n'était pas, malgré l'emploi du style direct dans le discours, de « polémiquer » avec d'éventuels hérétiques, mais plutôt d'informer les prêtres avec charge d'âme. Ces trois textes ne présentent, sur chaque thème, que des lieux communs, donnant aux traités une image atemporelle. Cela peut paraître étonnant de prime abord, mais cela s'éclaire assez bien si l'on considère que ces traités sont avant tout des ouvrages de vulgarisation qui ont été composés pour des prêtres considérés a priori comme ignorants par des hommes formés dans les écoles. Pour les trois traités, il y a un thème crucial, qui tourne autour de l'ecclésiologie et des sacrements, un thème a le vent en poupe et est de plus en plus soigné : le dualisme, enfin, des thèmes sont<br>Our work is based on the scientific study of three anonymous and previously unpublished antiheretic treaties. The study of this edition has allowed a new light to be thrown on the understanding and construction of the antiheretic discourse. These various treaties do not portray a Cathar heresy constituted as a true religion. They must be taken into consideration as a group of chapters that are as many problems as can be raised about the Catholic dogma – problems not to be looked upon as interdependent but liable to exist for themselves. The treaties have been written by a compiler rather than by an author as their constitution by the organization of authorities classified by themes makes obvious. In so doing, the goal of the compiler was not, though he uses free direct speech in his discourse, to become involved in a controversy with possible heretics but rather to instruct priests who had the cure of souls. The three texts only have commonplaces to offer on each of the various themes, thus conferring a timeless image to the treaties. This may seem surprising at first but becomes clear enough when one considers they were in the first place popularizing works written by scholars and intended for priests looked down upon as ignorant. A crucial theme, that of ecclesiology and sacraments, runs through the three treaties while that of dualism gains both in importance and clarity. At the same time other themes, such as those dealing with priesthood as well as oath and murder, are obviously loosing ground

Entre 1880 et 1945, les créateurs de théâtre recourent à la pantomime pour transformer l’écriture dramatique, le jeu d’acteur et la conception du spectacle. Les pièces muettes (écrites par Margueritte, Huysmans et Hennique, Champsaur ou Gourmont) se multiplient à la fin du XIXe siècle. Symptomatiques d’une « crise du drame » (Szondi) et d’une « crise du geste » (Agamben), elles stimulent la mise en scène naissante, notamment au sein du Cercle Funambulesque. Dans le domaine du jeu mimé, deux courants majeurs s’affrontent : d’une part, les mimes logocentristes, qui recherchent une gestuelle codifiée et calquée sur l’ordre du langage (Séverin, Hacks, Aubert), d’autre part les mimes expressifs qui privilégient l’attitude et le regard (Wague, Colette, Farina). Les deux principaux traités de chasse français médiévaux, le Livre du roy Modus et de la royne Ratio, rédigé entre 1354 et 1377 par un seigneur normand, Henri de Ferrières et le Livre de chasse, écrit de 1387 à 1388 par le comte Gaston III de Foix-Béarn, dit Febus, sont nés de la volonté d’établir une somme des savoirs cynégétiques et de les transmettre aux générations futures grâce à un livre associant des images au texte. Ce travail se propose de mettre en lumière les modalités de la création iconographique, la fonction des miniatures, leur relation avec le texte, au sein d’un ouvrage didactique profane, ainsi que la transmission d’un modèle, en se fondant sur les exemplaires les plus anciens de chaque œuvre (exécutés en 1379 et 1388-1390) et sur un corpus représentatif de leurs suiveurs, s’échelonnant sur un siècle. On a pu expliquer l’apparition d’un tel projet à la fin du XIVe siècle en analysant le propos et les intentions des auteurs et en cernant un contexte intellectuel, social et artistique favorable. L’examen des données formelles des livres et surtout de leur mise en page a montré un équilibre entre texte et image et le caractère pédagogique de leur traitement visuel. L’étude approfondie des cycles originaux a révélé la souplesse des mises en scène et des procédés narratifs s’adaptant aux contenus variés, l’implication concomitante de l’auteur et de l’artiste dans la création des illustrations, la variété des usages faits par les miniatures du référent textuel et la multiplicité des rôles dévolus aux images. Les premiers traités de chasse enluminés voient le langage pictural collaborer avec le langage écrit au service de l’ambition didactique du livre<br>The two principle French medieval huntbooks, the Livre du roy Modus et de la royne Ratio, written between 1354 and 1377 by Henri de Ferrières, a Norman nobleman, and the Livre de chasse, written between 1387 and 1388 by Comte Gaston III de Foix-Béarn, called Febus, were encouraged and sponsored for the purpose of establishing a significant compilation of hunting knowledge, intended for future generation through a work associating illustration with the text. The present thesis proposes a clarification of the modes of iconographic creation, the role of miniatures, their relation to a text, at the heart of secular didactic works, as well as transmitting a model, founded upon the oldest copies of each work (executed respectively in 1379 and 1388-1390) and on a representative body of works by followers extended over one century. It was possible to explain the appearence of such a project at the end of 14th century by analysing proposals and intentions of the authors and discerning favorable intellectual, social and artistic context. Examination of book content and espacially setting on the page showed balance between text and ilustration and the pedagogic character of visual treatment. Extended study of original cycles revealed the suppleness of the visual story line and of the narrative process adapting to variable content, the concomitant connection between author and artist for the creation of illustrations, the variety of textual usages in miniatures and the multiplicity of roles given to images. The first illuminated huntbook treatises show pictural language working effectively with written language in the service of didactic purposes of the book

Cette recherche a pour ambition d'étudier les vitraux, les commanditaires et les peintres-verriers de la fin du Moyen Age au début du XVIIe siècle dans l'Est du Bassin parisien, c'est-à-dire dans un secteur géographique couvrant des territoires où il reste parfois beaucoup de vitraux en place (pays troyen, par exemple) et d'autres où il ne subsiste presque rien, comme dans les Ardennes ou l'Aisne. Cependant, il est possible, grâce aux sources d'archives, de fournir un tableau des foyers de peinture sur verre dans des villes où l'absence de vestiges ne laisse pas supposer qu'on y ait produit du vitrail (Mézières, Laon). Ces sources, comptables, judiciaires, notariales, réglementaires ou techniques, permettent, d'une part, de suivre sur le long terme les mécanismes de commande, de pose et d'entretien des verrières et, d'autre part, d'étudier les familles de peintres-verriers qui ont été actives dans la plupart des cités du territoire couvert par notre étude. Nous avons donc tenté d'élaborer une définition du métier de peintre-verrier tenant compte des circonstances (métier réglementé ou non) ainsi que de la teneur exacte des activités des peintres-verriers qui sont, comme dans de nombreux autres pays, souvent polyvalents, les spécialisations dépendant du contexte artistique, économique et familial. Les source anciennes enrichissent aussi l'approche iconographique en contribuant à affiner notre connaissance des corpus de vitraux posés dans un espace géographique et pour une période donnés : si l'iconographie dépend pour une bonne part du statut du commanditaire et de sa culture, les dévotions locales, la nature de l'édifice et les modes ont aussi joué un rôle<br>This project is a study of the stained-glass windows, patrons and painter-glassworkers of the end of the Middle Ages. It focuses on the east Parisian Basin at the 16th and 17th centuries, an area which encompasses regions (such as that around Troyes) where there are many extant windows, and others (such as the Ardennes and Aisne) where almost nothing survives. Using archival sources, however, it is possible to supply a picture of glassmaking centre where no material evidence suggests that glass was manufactured (for example in Mézières and Laon). On the one hand, these sources allow us to trace the processes of patronage, production, installation and maintenance of windows over a period of time. On the other, they provide an insight into the families of glassworkers which were active in most of the cities covered by this study. Drawing on this evidence, this thesis presents an account of the painter-glassworker's craft, taking into account socio-historical circumstances (including guilds), as well as the details of their activities given in the records, which are often, as in other countries, rather vague and general, depending on artistic, economic and familial context for clarification. The historical sources can also enrich an iconographic understanding of the glass by helping to refine our knowledge of the windows within their geographical and temporal contexts : if their subject-matter depends on the status and culture of patrons, the nature of local devotion, the nature of the edifice and fashion must all be taken into account

Exercé au départ par les grands du royaume, l’office se professionnalise à la fin du Moyen Âge et au début de la Renaissance, comme l’atteste la multiplication des traités de découpe en Espagne et en Italie durant cette période. Le présent travail permet de mesurer, d'une part, les interférences textuelles entre les traités de découpe ibériques et italiens et de s'interroger, d'autre part, sur la correspondance entre les normes et la pratique. It deals with the duties of the Carver who was entrusted with a major assignment at the Royal Court: he was given the delicate task of carving the food and serving up the dishes for his Lord. This office, first performed by the royal officers, became a profession at the end of the middle ages and at the beginning of the renaissance period, as may be attested by the multiplication of treaties on carving in Spain and Italy issued at that time. The antiquity of the "arte Cisaria" (1423) led me to wonder about its influence on the Catalan and Italian treaties on carving which were the established later on. I also wondered afterwards to what extent these treaties complied with the established norms. Finally, in order to understand the place occupied by the Carver within the Royal Court, I focused my prosopographic research on the reigns of the Aragonese kings Ferdinand I, and his son Alphonse V

L'idee de ce travail est venue d'un texte celebre de g. Genette, opposant dans fiction et diction les poetiques du classicisme qui seraient des "poetiques de la fiction", aux poetiques contemporaines qui, elles, definissent la litterarite par la "diction". L'espace de temps que l'on considere ici comme celui du "classicisme theorique" coincide donc, non pas avec celui du classicisme historique, mais plutot avec l'evolution d'une reflexion poetique au cours de laquelle les poetes et les savants de la renaissance, puis du premier xviieme siecle francais, ont tente de reprendre a aristote son principe de definition de la litterature comme mimesis, et de l'adapter a la production et a la critique de nouvelles oeuvres - effort acheve lorsque les theoriciens du classicisme proprement dit donneront leur forme "historique" a ces theories. En voulant verifier l'hypothese de g. Genette, on s'est apercu que les theoriciens francais qui, a la suite des italiens, ont cherche une pensee de la litterature dans les doctrines poetiques des anciens sont en effet arrives a une definition de la litterarite par le critere de la fiction11 - c'est le cas, en particulier, de jean chapelain, l'un des principaux fondateurs de ce qui allait devenir la doctrine poetique du classicisme. Cependant, ils n'entendaient pas seulement saisir par la le contenu de l'oeuvre, et leur propos, dans son ambiguite meme, reproduit en realite l'ensemble des questions que l'on peut poser a une oeuvre d'art ecrite, lorsqu'on veut la definir comme telle. 11 sous ce terme de fiction, je designe egalement les notions qui, dans le vocabulaire latin, italien et francais des xvi et xviieme siecles, redistribuent ses differents emplois : la fable est le principal d'entre eux, et c'est pourquoi l'on a joint a ce travail une traduction et un commentaire du de tragoedloe constiiutione de d. AbstractAbove- and belowground systems are linked via plant chemistry. In forested systems, leaf litter chemistry and quality mirror that of green foliage and have important afterlife effects. In systems where belowground inputs dominate, such as grasslands, or in ecosystems where aboveground biomass is frequently removed by burning or harvesting, foliar traits may provide important information regarding belowground inputs via exudates and fine-root turnover. Many, if not most, of the plant traits that drive variation in belowground processes are also measurable via remote sensing technologies. The ability of remote sensing techniques to measure fine-scale biodiversity and plant chemistry over large spatial scales can help researchers address ecological questions that were previously prohibitively expensive to address. Key to these potential advances is the idea that remotely sensed vegetation spectra and plant chemistry can provide detailed information about the function of belowground processes beyond what traditional field sampling can provide.

AbstractThis chapter presents analyses of data from the first wave of the German Emigration and Remigration Panel Study (GERPS) to explore the role of gender differences in migration motives, patterns, and outcomes in recently emigrated or remigrated couples. The results show that emigration of couples follows a traditional gender pattern with leading men and trailing women. However, we also found important evidence that remigration patterns do not follow these traditional gender norms. The decision towards and the timing of remigration within couples is led by women independent of age, education, migration experience, migration motives, and personality traits. Turning to migration outcomes, we find evidence for at least some psychological burden for women. When women are the trailing partner with respect to emigration or remigration decisions, they report a decrease in overall life satisfaction as well as an increase in perceived social isolation after migration. However, under some circumstances men also suffer psychologically. Specifically, men who have remigrated in advance of their female partners report lower life satisfaction and higher perceived isolation.

Abstract Do we analyze on why can even the most reliable turbomachinery are getting failure and stopped? In some cases, it's all about bad installation or design literally. This paper explores the challenges one site had with repeated failure of lube oil fin fan coolers coupling which caused the unit availability of more than 3 months. It outlines the troubleshooting attempts made to remedy this issue, its root cause, and the resulting solution. This issue occurred at a site with a train configuration of motor driven centrifugal compressors. The plant lube oil system has been configured with 3 trains. Each train has been configured with Main electric motor + Vorecon Gearbox + Low Pressure centrifugal compressor + High Pressure centrifugal compressor. Lube oil system of the train has been configured as 2 lube oil coolers and 2 working oil coolers. Lube oil coolers are having fins with air cooler type. Air is supplied by fin fans and each train has 2 lube oil cooler fans and 2 working oil cooler fans. In total site has 3 trains x 4 fin fans so it has 12 fin fan cooler fans. All cooler fans are driven by electric motor which is coupled with gearbox and gear box is connected with cooler fan. During normal operation of working oil cooler fan A- stopped rotation suddenly from normal operation. During investigation, motor shaft was found running freely. No movement was seen on cooler fan. Coupling between motor to gearbox was inspected. Coupling is shear plate coupling. Its spacer flexible element were found broken into several pieces. Further investigation revealed that motor coupling hub was moving free axially back and forth due to clearance between motor shaft to coupling hub internal diameter. Motor side Coupling hub bolt hole was found with loss of material and ovality in shape. Hub locking Allen screw was found in damaged condition. Missing materials were noted and broken shear plate materials were found around coupling guard area. While site team was conducting the investigation on the unit A, similar incident occurred in next unit and other 3 units with 2 days difference between them. During detailed investigation it has been noted that all motor to gear box coupling are shear plates and shear plates were broken. Coupling hub was found loose and coupling hub locking screw was found broken or partial damage.

Ventilation fans operating in underground metropolitan tunnels are subjected to abrupt changes in operations due to the pressure wavefronts generated by the passage of the trains, and the magnitude of these pressure waves is increasing due to increasing speed of passing trains in modern mass transport systems. To avoid fans being driven into stall designers can fit fans with a stabilisation ring, i.e. a casing treatment that was found to mitigate the mechanical consequences of being inadvertedly driven into stall due to pressure pulses. A stabilisation ring is a circumferential cavity in the casing of the fan, placed upstream of the rotor in order to allow the fluid to recirculate in stalled operations. A series of fins inside this cavity is used in order to drive the recirculating fluid back into the blade vane with a proper alignment with the leading edge of the rotor. Following a previous RANS investigation that lead to the conclusion that the drive mechanism of the stabilisation ring onto the fan is based on azimuthal pressure unbalance we present here a U-RANS investigation aiming at understanding the dynamics of the interaction of the anti-stall ring with the fan and to provide insight on possible development of the geometry of the casing treatment. The fan selected for this study is a real fan for tunnel and metro applications (9 rotor blades, 1490 rpm) with a real-geometry stabilisation ring (27 fins). Computations account for different operating points (peak efficiency, design point, peak pressure and stalled operations) and rely on the low-Reynolds cubic k-ε model of Lien et al. All the simulations were carried out with the open-source OpenFOAM code. Results were validated against available experimental data and then analysed to understand the unsteady interaction between the rotor of the fan and the cavity of the stabilisation ring.
