Abstract:
Abstract Pesisir Selatan is one of the districts in West Sumatra with a humid tropical climate with temperatures reaching 32°C during the day. The majority of coastal communities work as fishermen and build houses on the beach, such as in fishermen’s housing in South Painan. In this area there are two models of fisherman housing, namely government-assisted fisherman housing and fisherman’s original housing. Housing on the beachfront will be faced with quite extreme climatic conditions such as air velocity, air temperature, and air humidity which are relatively high on average. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the level of thermal comfort in the space in both models of fisherman housing to determine the performance of each fisherman’s housing in dealing with the climate. This study uses a quantitative approach by measuring the parameters of thermal comfort, namely air temperature, humidity and air velocity using a thermohygrometer and anemometer. The data collection method uses descriptive quantitative. Comfort level is evaluated based on the Indonesian national standard (SNI 03-6572-2001) and adaptive thermal comfort. Based on the results of the study, the level of thermal comfort in both models of fisherman housing is classified as uncomfortable according to SNI 03-6572-2001 and adaptive thermal comfort.

Abstract:
The Fisherman Card as a proof fisherman identity is a form of formal recognition of the existence and rights of the fishermenby the state. The implementation of the fisherman card from Jakarta up to remote areas is regulated in the Decree of theMinister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries No.16 of the year 2016 on the Fisherman Card. The government through theMinistry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, c.q. the Provincial Office as well as the Municipality Office of Marine Affairsand Fisheries are targeting that the whole fishermen in this area would hold the fisherman card. Since its launching in2013 until the implementation of the Ministerial Regulation on the Fisherman Card, many fishermen have not received thefisherman card while those who hold the card do not understand the function of the card. The Kupang Municipality up to the144JAP UNWIRA, Vol. 1, No. 1, Januari - Juni 2020mid of 2017 has covered only 26.74 percent of the fishermen as card recipients. This research utilizes the Dunn theoreticalframework that covers the aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equality, responsiveness, and correctness to analyze theimplementation of Fisherman Card in Kupang Municipality. The research period that started from June through September2017 in five coastal villages (Nunbaun Sabu, Nunbaun Delha, Pasir Panjang, Oesapa, Lasiana) found that 73.26 percentof the fishermen had not possessed the Fisherman Card. Worse even, the card holders did not understand the purpose of thecard. The low percentage of card ownership is considered as caused by inadequacy of technical apparatus and human resourcesthat could not cover the whole fishermen of Kupang Municipality. The Fisherman Card is also gender-biased in that itaccommodates only fisherman as narrowly defined by the Law No.7 of 2016 as a person whose occupation is catching fish. TheFisherman Card neglects the pre and post activities of fish catching as well as of salt farmers, most of which are female works. The halfhearted recognition by state of the existence of fishermen who are involved in every link of the marine and fisherywork-chain is nothing but an indicator of the state’s absence to fulfill the rights of fishermen, and of fisherwomen in particular.

Abstract:
Background: The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in both developed and developing countries are 30% - 75% with increased risk reported among women, elderly, obese individuals and those with low sun exposure. Fisherman has been acknowledged as an occupation with high sun exposure. However, a previous study showed that 4 in 5 fishermen were vitamin D deficient. The objective of this study is to investigate vitamin D intake and sun exposure among fishermen. Method: This cross-sectional study recruited fishermen residing in the working area of several public health centres in Mataram and West Lombok districts. The subjects were classified as fishermen and non-fishermen. Vitamin D intake and sun exposure were the the main variables. Results: One in two fishermen and three in four non-fishermen exhibited low intake of vitamin D. Fish intake in the fisherman and the non-fisherman groups were 937 gram per week and 652 gram per week, respectively. The most consumed fish was tuna. Fish intake of 937 gram per week was equivalent to ~12 µg vitamin D intake and 23.6 nmol/L vitamin D concentration. The majority of subjects were unable to achieve the optimal UVB radiation. Conclusion: Insufficient vitamin D intake and limited sun exposure are prevalent in fisherman and non-fisherman groups.

Abstract:
Fisherman Insurance Premium Assistance is applied to all coastal areas in Indonesia. In Malang Regency, it just started in 2016 through JASINDO, so many fishermen still do not fully understand the benefits against possible risks. Therefore, it is necessary to study the dynamics of the fisherman insurance system focusing on producing a model of insurance demand and the projection of the demand and growth of fisherman insurance in the future. The method used in this research was a series of system dynamics modeling. The results of the validity test in this study indicate the mean comparison and error variance is the following: fisherman insurance program = 4.8% and 6.01%; fishermen’s value = 4.0% and 21.55% and premium assistance = 3.9% and 12.17%. Moreover, the structural and parametric scenario analysis results show the average value of the increase in tourists: Scenario 1 - Structural: Premium assistance = 602 fishermen, Scenario 2 - Structural: 394 fishermen, Parametric Scenario 1 - Optimistic = 578 fishermen, Parametric Scenario 2 - Most Likely = 289 fishermen, and Parametric Scenario 3 - Pessimistic = 201 fishermen. However, the projection of the demand for fisherman insurance in 2021-2029 has not shown the expected results. The largest number of demands is 421 and the smallest is 321 in 2026. Moreover, after several simulations, the study found the most possible simulation to be carried out and to have a significant, stable effect on the results desired by the government, which is through premium assistance. If at least insurance premium assistance of Rp. 118,000x109 can be given annually, it will be able to generate a fisherman insurance demand at a minimum of 500.

The number of fishermen who have not received legal protection against safety guarantees has created concerns. So that fishermen need the government's role in getting guarantees in the form of insurance. Insurance programs for fishermen must be continued and developed to ensure the future of fishermen's families. Currently, the government assumes that it has provided insurance policies to all fishermen. Fisherman Insurance Premium Assistance is considered important to ensure protection for their lives and work accidents so that all fishermen and fishermen's families have the confidence to carry out their activities at sea. The provision of insurance through the Insurance Premium Assistance Program for Fishermen (BPAN) is a program to ensure better fisherman activities in the fishing business so that the rights and obligations of fishermen are clear and will be protected in their fishing business activities. As the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 07 of 2016 concerning the Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish Cultivators, and Salt Farmers, has regulated the provision of protection for the work risks experienced by fishermen through the provision of insurance.

This program consumes a large budget, considering that most of the people in Pitulua Village are still classified as underprivileged and do not have their own place to live. RUSUS program has been a program of the Kementrian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat “PUPR” (The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing). Nationally for the construction of special houses during this period, 9,833 units were carried out in 34 provinces in Indonesia (Ministry of Public Works RI Communication Bureau) in 2020. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing will allocate ABPN funds to the people of North Kolaka Regency who are work as a fisherman with the help of at least 50 units of fisherman's houses in 2017 all fishermen's houses have been realized and have been inhabited for 2 years. The current phenomenon, apart from the Covid 19 pandemic, is related to RUSUS construction program, which is still having problems, in this case of RUSUS, which should be intended for fishermen who are less affluent, but in reality there are still middle and upper class people like honorary; there are also those who use it as a temporary residence and the community does not work as a fisherman; RUSUS is owned by his parents, but only his son occupies the house and does not work as a fisherman; there are still many local people who are more entitled to get RUSUS; there are still fisherman communities who occupy houses that cannot be declared as property rights but are still in the status of usufructuary rights for 5 (five) years.

Abstract:
This study analyses the fisherman’s income through monetary factors during the COVID-19 pandemic in coastal areas of West Aceh Regency in Aceh Province, Indonesia. This study applied cross-section data over 2021 using descriptive quantitative research and OLS model analysis (Ordinary Least Square). Research revealed monetary factors in terms of the inflation of groceries price negatively influenced the fisherman income at West Aceh Regency. Meanwhile, the diesel price variable positively influenced fisherman’s income. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an increase in groceries price (inflation) by 1,06 times or the consumer price index (CPI) of groceries price at 106 percent. However, diesel prices were still the same as before the COVID-19 pandemic because fishermen used subsidised fuel at IDR 5.150 per litre. However, the quota of subsidised diesel did not fulfil the fisherman needs, so they must buy non-subsidised diesel. It impacted the operational fishing cost, which was bigger than the fisherman’s income. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the average fisherman’s income decreased to IDR 1.500.000-IDR 3.000.000 each trip compared with before the COVID-19 pandemic at IDR 5.000.000- IDR 7.000.000 each trip. It was caused by low fish prices caused by the decreasing fish demand.

Abstract The fisherman performs a dangerous and complex job. It is an activity with irregular work rhythms with innumerable constraints inherent in the specificity of work at sea and with their consequences on occupational health. This session attempts to shed light on certain aspects relating to the health issues of the fisherman as well as the essentials of his medical supervision by crossing the experience of many international experts in maritime medicine. It is a cross-reference that addresses the health issues of fishermen both throughout the world and in some countries such as Morocco, Spain, France, and Bangladesh. it also addresses the state of health of fishermen both generally and specifically according to some pathologies such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or hearing loss. This session will allow us to better understand the professional pathology of the fisherman in the world, to compare the practices of medical care in many countries, and possibly seek to unify management practices for some diseases, such as screening for diabetes in fishermen.

Abstract:
Background: Fishermen are a high risk group for developing pterygium. The high frequency of exposure to UV, wind, dust and sand when working makes the prevalence of pterygium among fishermen quite high. The city of Bengkulu, which is geographically located on the west coast of Sumatra Island which is directly facing the Indonesian Ocean, makes the majority of its population work as fishermen. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between duration of being a fisherman, distance to health facilities and smoking with pterygium disease in a group of fishermen in, Bengkulu. Methods: Analytical observational research with case control design. The sample of 120 fishermen consisted of 40 cases and 80 controls, because researchers used a case-control ratio of 1:2. Sampling using purposive sampling method. The dependent variable was pterygium disease. Independent variables of duration as a fisherman, distance of health facilities and smoking. The research instrument uses a structured questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability with Alpha Cronbach value (0.996) > r table. Data were analyzed by Chi Square. Results: Based on the research results, it was found that there was a significant relationship with duration as a fisherman (≥ 21 years) (OR = 3.980; 95%CI = 1.404-11.284; p = 0.006) with pterygium disease. There is no relationship between smoking (OR = 1.246; 95%CI = 0.559-2.778; p = 0.590) with pterygium disease. There is a significant relationship between the distance of health facilities (OR = 5.133; 95%CI = 2.249-11.715; p = 0.000) with pterygium disease. Conclusion: The length of time working as a fisherman increases the risk of developing pterygium disease as the frequency of exposure to UV, dust, wind and sand increases. It is necessary to use personal protective equipment to reduce the risk of exposure and education from health workers so that the public can take good preventive measures. Keywords: Duration as a fisherman, distance health facilities, smoking, pterygium.

We define and study a tritrophic bioeconomic model of Lotka-Volterra with a prey, middle predator, and top predator populations. These fish populations are exploited by two fishermen. We study the existence and the stability of the equilibrium points by using eigenvalues analysis and Routh-Hurwitz criterion. We determine the equilibrium point that maximizes the profit of each fisherman by solving the Nash equilibrium problem. Finally, following some numerical simulations, we observe that if the price varies, then the profit behavior of each fisherman will be changed; also, we conclude that the price change mechanism improves the fishing effort of the fishermen.

Abstract:
Pterygium is a degenerative and invasive disorder of the subconjunctival tissue that can reach the cornea area which is become a worldwide health problem. UV exposure is the biggest risk factor for pterygium. A profession as a fisherman is one of the occupations that are often related to the appearance of pterygium, because of long-term exposure to UV rays. This study aimed to determine the correlation between age and duration as a fisherman with the degree of pterygium in Kedung Cowek village, Bulak Surabaya district, East Java - Indonesia. The research design was an analytic observational using consecutive sampling during March - July 2011; with the total number of respondents is 42 fishermen who met the inclusion criteria. The results of the statistical analysis test showed that there was a strong and significant relationship between the age of the fishermen (p = 0.007; coefficient correlation = 502) and the duration of working as a fisherman (p = 0.029; coefficient correlation = 409) with the severity of the pterygium. Based on these results it can be concluded that the age and duration of work as fishermen are related to the severity of the pterygium in fishermen in the Kedung Cowek sub-district, Surabaya, East Java-Indonesia.

Abstract:
The Indonesian coastal line is the largest in the world and has potentially large number of coastal natural resources, such as fish, seaweed etc. However, the Indonesian fishermen, particularly the traditional ones, have always been facing the hard and mediocre life. The situation was derive a specific research whit long-term goal was an attempt to facilitate the traditional fishermens with better tools in order to increase their income. The specific target was designation and implementation of simple and applicable small boat pulling apparatus to cut down the time needed to move the fishing boat on and off shore. It is no doubth that the introduction of the tool will improve the fishermen operation effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, the execution of ideas, manual calculation and raw design drawing along with Autodesk Inventor simulations software has been able to produce a model assembly of boat pulling apparatus. The design prerequisite was based on the results of comprehensive series of surveys related to the West Nusa Tenggara coastal conditions which was steep coastal with slope of 15-30 degrees as well as the simplicity of design needed by the fisherman. Based on the results of static analyse with finite element analysis (FMA) and dinamic analysis, the resulting design meets the shafety design requirements. Finally, the design can be said in the safe category and can be used safely in such conditions without harming the fisherman. Finally, this apparatus will economically improve the fishermen traditional life.

Abstract:
A study of Synodontis punctifer (family: Mochokidae) of Taabo Lake was conducted from October 2015 to September 2016. This was carried out so as to evaluate its quantity (biomass) caught by fishing and also its morphological characteristics. The fish were caught using gillnets at 4 sites of the lake and different measurements were made. The fishing effort was 23 to 11 fishermen / day in Taabo city, 17 to 11 fishermen / day in Courandjourou, 13 to 5 fishermen / day in Ahondo, and 8 to 3 fishermen / day in Taabo village. The catch per unit effort (CPUE) ranged from 17.7 to 3.7 g / fisherman / day, 9.2 to 1.2 g / fisherman / day, 8.3 to 0.7 g / fisherman /day, 8 to 1g / fisherman / day at Ahondo, Courandjourou, Taabo city and Taabo village, respectively. The overall annual production was estimated at 2199.3 kg, i.e. 817 kg (40%) at Ahondo, 788.3 kg (35%) at Courandjourou, 462.5 kg (20%) at Taabo, and 131.5 kg (5%) in Taabo village. The overall sex ratio (1: 1.33) was in favor of females. Individuals have negative allometric growth at all sites with values ranging from 1.72 to 2.89. The condition factor does not vary significantly between different categories of individuals (ANOVA, F = 2.79, p ˃ 0.05). A significant difference was observed between the average sizes of the individuals of the different sites (test, p˂0,05). The large size specimens were captured at Ahondo, mean (avg = 15.38 ± 1.68 cm FL). In Courandjourou, the sizes were intermediate (avg = 13.63 ± 1.64 cm LF). Smalls sizes have been observed in Taabo city (mean= 12.37 ± 1.24 cm FL) and Taabo village (mean= 15.58 ± 1.58 cm FL).

Impact of climate change for traditional fisherman is very real, especially in term of availability of production resources. Some of climate changes such as weather change, flooding, and lack of haul are resulting in vulnerability for traditional fisherman. Fisherman will always have ways to face every those changes. This matter is to ensure their existence in life. Sutera sub-district in Pesisir Selatan Regency where some its society work as traditional fisherman. As a coastal area, it can be sure that they are also faced for climate change. Using qualitative descriptive method, this research in purpose to see some changes which happened in Sutera Sub-districts as effect of climate change.Others, what strategies that they have done to overcome thase changes. The results of this study indicate that some of the Sutera District fishermen still rely on 'pesakitan' even though they are no longer relevant. The majority of fishermen use mass media as a source of information about weather forecasts and climate change. By sharing information in a stall, this information can be known. Next they make other alternatives such as catching shrimp and crabs when the weather is bad or a storm comes. Generally they avoid natural events as much as possible and expand the area of capture if the catch is minimal

Abstract:
A certain combination of temperament which is manifested in the cognitive processes, actions and communication of sport fishermen determines their individual style of activity. This style of activity is a system of dynamic features of actions that depend on temperament; this activity includes work techniques that are typical of a certain sport fisherman. What we observe when we study the dynamics of the actions of a sport fisherman, we perceive as signs of his temperament (different movements, reactions), forms of behavior in different fishing conditions are often a reflection not only of temperament, but also of an individual style of activity, the features of which may coincide and diverge with temperament. The purpose of our research is to conduct a systematic psychological analysis of the influence of temperament types on the personality of sport fishermen (fishing for peaceful fish) and spinning athletes (fishing for predatory fish). The personality of a sport fisherman and temperament are interconnected in such a way that temperament acts as a common basis for many other personal qualities, above all – a character. What is new is that at the level of temperament, in the formed character, a significant component is the belief system. Sports conviction and confidence determines the long-term orientation of the behavior of a sport fisherman, his steadfastness in achieving his goals, confidence in the fairness and importance of the work he is doing. Temperament types help to build character. Therefore, the character, despite its multifaceted nature, forms and develops the personality of a sport fisherman. Temperament and its mixed forms reflect the dynamic aspects of the mental processes and behavior of a sport fisherman, mostly innate in nature, that is, personality properties that are not subject to change under the influence of living conditions and sport. Under certain conditions of competitive activity, the type of temperament of a sport fisherman (fishing for peaceful fish) can acquire the traits of a choleric or sanguine person, and sport spinningists (fishing for predatory fish) acquire the traits of phlegmatic and melancholic. Such a symbiosis proves that an internally purposeful change in one's own type of temperament necessary for participation in competitions is extremely important. This will help to achieve positive results, which will have a positive effect on the personality of a sport fishermen.

Language represents the speaker’s identity due to the experiences stored in the mind that become mental lexicon used as expressions for communication. Fisherman children observing their fathers’ activities in fishing daily perceive what their parents do for their family. This article is aimed to describe the children’s feeling, experiences, and thought about fishermen through their words or expressions in their writing. To uncover the problems, I used observation method for collecting data; referential and inferential methods for analyzing data. I used elicitation technique to collect the data. The data were the words or expressions written by thirty seven fisherman children of SDN 01 API-API (elementary) SMP Fatkhul Qowim (junior secondary school), and MA Fatkhul Qowim (senior high school) in Wonokerto, Pekalongan, Indonesia. The results indicate that they use emotive vocabulary items which may result in their mental lexicon stored in the mind and fisherman vocabulary item preservation. Besides, they indicate fisherman habits, fishing trip duration, and natural challenges. The most prominent expressions are those referring to the main duties of fishing, natural challenges and hardship on the sea during fishing. Even the children have no direct experiences, they can perceive fisherman jobs quite well due to everyday observation.

Abstract:
Abstract The south coast of Java is famous for its high waves and many troughs, so it is dangerous for fishermen. Therefore, the fisheries sector on the southern coast of Java is less developed than those on the north coast of Java. Fishermen must really understand the environment on the coast. One of the beaches on the south coast of Java with a harbor is Sadeng Beach. Many working fishermen catch fish with a profit-sharing system with fishermen who own boats due to limited capital. This study aims to determine the survival strategy, environment and profit-sharing system for working fishermen in Sadeng Beach. The research method used is a case study. The results show that Sadeng fishermen have survival strategies such as diversification in fishing gear, optimizing weather technology, having side jobs, helping each other, and joining the fisherman group. To maintain business continuity, fishermen work with a profit-sharing system. The passion to live and work hard as a fisherman makes them strong and continue to be passionate until this day.
