This article discusses the main differences between the Samaritan and the Jewish versions of the Pentateuch. The Samaritan Bible consists of the Torah—that is, the Five Books of Moses—also called the Samaritan Pentateuch (SP). The Jewish Bible contains in addition the Prophets and the Writings, a total of 39 books. The introduction seeks to present both traditions in their own right and in relation to other ancient textual traditions (the Dead Sea Scrolls, the ancient Greek and Latin, and the Septuagint). His collection reflects his wide ranging interests: philology (including Romanian language, folklore and literature), Judaica, magic and mysticism, and Samaritan studies. This article presents a survey of the varied Rylands Gaster collection. It includes an inventory of the miscellaneous manuscript sequence, a complete handlist of Gaster‘s German manuscripts and an introduction t

Frank J. Schwartz, professor and curator of fishes at the University of North Carolina Institute of Marine Sciences at Morehead City, has distilled more than forty-five years’ worth of study into a handy guide to the ninety-one species of Sharks, Skates, and Rays of the Carolinas. The introduction discusses past, present, and future Elasmobranchs (primitive fishes with cartilaginous skeletons and five to seven pairs of gill slits not covered by an opercle) briefly but in impressive detail.

A Glimpse into the Religious Studies of Hjalmar Söderberg While the Swedish writer Hjalmar Söderberg (1869–1941) gained a worldwide reputation with his fiction, his later studies in the history of religion, with their discussions of daring reconstructions and interpretations of Biblical events, are more obscure. Of his three monographs on religious history, the paper focuses on his début, The Fire of Yahweh (Jahves eld, 1918). The key thesis about the story of Moses as proposed by Markel, the protagonist, claims that the supernatural events in the Book of Exodus which took place on and at the

This paper falls within the framework of the security of satellite images, in particular interferograms from an Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (inSAR) system. The innovation of this work consists in the application of a cryptosystem based on two algorithms Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and the Rivest, Shamir and Adleman (RSA) encryption algorithm for securing interferograms of inSAR systems. AES employs five encryption modes Electronic Code Book (ECB), Cipher Bloc Chaining (CBC), Cipher FeedBack (CFB), Output FeedBack (OFB), and counter-mode encryption (CTR). The use of the AES
