Bioabsorbable internal fixation by means of pins, tacks, screws and miniplates offers an alternative to metallic osteofixation for the stabilization of small bone fractures, osteotomies, ligament injuries and fusions in the hand. The advantages of using them include avoidance of metallic-implant-related long-term complications and a secondary removal operation. Currently the most commonly used devices are made of poly l-lactide (PLLA) and copolymers of polylactides (P(L/DL)LA) and polyglycolide (PLGA). In addition, both methods are designed to reduce the time for which tissue is exposed to the damaging influence of the plastic monomer, which can cause extraction and sudden shrinkage. Abstract:
Total joint arthroplasty (TJA) is implemented primarily for the relief of pain, and secondarily for achieving better function by increasing the joint’s strength and motion. In order to keep health costs low, it is desirable that the TJA achieves and maintains a long-term and secure fixation of the implanted components. Unfortunately, clinical follow-up shows that the prosthetic finger implant components have long-term complications including bone resorption, wear, loosening, and failure of the implant components. Although the mechanism of complications is not fully understood, it is well known

This article discusses the modern concept of eco-efficiency, based on the methods of using resources for the development of an organization in terms of economic and environmental indicators through more efficient use of resources and reducing pollution. Its differences from the traditional principles of environmental efficiency are determined. Mathematical models for assessing the eco-efficiency of industrial production are proposed. The applicability of the developments is shown on the example of a microelectronics enterprise. The presented models make it possible to measure the eco-efficienc

Abstract In the modern automation technology, there are often two ways to complete a drive task: pneumatically or electrically. In order to remain competitive with the electromechanics and to contribute to the achievement of climate protection goals, manufacturers and users of pneumatic systems are required to increase the energy efficiency of pneumatics. One of the primal and simplest methods to reduce the energy consumption of existing and to-be-developed pneumatic systems is the correct sizing of actuators. However, even in the most modern machines drives are often overdimensioned thus crea

Using theoretical and empirical methods, this paper proves that the modern mediaenvironment is a complex configuration made by the material and the virtual components and is reflected in the language in various ways. Innovative lexis with the component media and its systematization has become the key to understanding the mediareality, in particular, detecting the constituent elements of the structure of the mediatized environment. In total, 455 lexemes chosen from the Ukrainian dictionaries, academic publications, and the results provided by Google search engine have been analyzed. The systema
