Abstract:
A case of bilateral insertion of flexor pollicis longus to the proximal as well as the distal phalanges is reported. Initially, this case was diagnosed as congenital absence of the flexor pollicis longus, but surgery revealed an intact tendon, with the abnormality only present in the site of insertion. A survey of the literature on congenital abnormalities of flexor pollicis longus failed to reveal any reports of similar abnormalities.

We report a case of flexor pollicis longus tendon rupture after arthrodesis of the trapeziometacarpal joint with headless screws using the criss-cross technique. Although flexor pollicis longus tendon rupture is a conceivable complication after the trapeziometacarpal joint arthrodesis, very few cases have rarely been reported in the literature. We should remind that screws inserted into the trapezium could lead to a rupture of the flexor pollicis longus tendon.

Abstract:
With C7-T1 brachial plexus injuries, finger motion is absent while shoulder, elbow and wrist function are largely preserved. Previously, we have reconstructed finger flexion by transferring the brachialis muscle to the flexor digitorum profundus and flexor pollicis longus; and we have restored extension of thumb and finger by transferring the motor nerve to the supinator to the posterior interosseous nerve, which is only feasible in fresh injuries. We describe the transfer of the supinator muscle to the extensor pollicis brevis to reanimate thumb extension in patients with long standing C7-T1

We reviewed the incidence and treatment of flexor carpi radialis tendinitis in 77 patients (81 thumbs) who had trapeziectomy and abductor pollicis longus suspensionplasty for thumb carpometacarpal joint arthritis. Eighteen patients, 20 wrists (25%) had flexor carpi radialis tendinitis. The onset was 2–10 months (mean 4.7) after surgery. Two cases had preceding trauma. Eight cases (40%) responded to splinting and steroid injection. Ten patients, 12 wrists (60%) underwent surgery after failing non-operative treatment. Eleven wrists had frayed or partially torn flexor carpi radialis tendon and on
