The increased availability of digital floras and the application of optical character recognition (OCR) to digitized texts has resulted in exciting opportunities for flora data mining. For example, the software package CharaParser has been developed for the semantic annotation of morphological descriptions from taxonomic treatments (Cui 2012). However, after digitization and OCR processing and before parsing of morphological treatments can begin, content types must be annotated (i.e., text represents names, morphology, discussion or distribution). The tropical families register a decline in the Early Miocene time. Abstract:
The objective of this study is to inventory the flora of the Ouled Bechih forest (Algeria) with a quantitative and qualitative analysis through significant parameters. This study allowed the identification of 27 species belonging to 26 genera and 17 families. The results show an important diversity of the regional flora which is essentially dominated by the Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Fagaceae and Rosaceae. Hemicryptophytes and geophytes dominate the biological spectrum of the flora of this forest, which is morphologically characterised by the dominance of perennial herbs. The analysis of the chorol

The increase in the rate of introduction of invasive species into the structure of the native flora of Belarus raises concerns about this issue. However, understanding the basic biology issues of alien species is not enough to combat them. The authors of the study believe that considering the population characteristics of invasive species is the key to combating them. Favorable conditions for acclimatization of the Heracleum sosnowskyi Manden. species are shown for Dzerzhinsk district, which contributes to an increase in the growth rate of its populations. Body steam trap management is one of the key programs in energy management. Considerable amount of steam as energy and water as condensate is lost through failed traps. In a well-maintained steam distribution system distribution loss of 5% is acceptable and losses increase drastically to 10 to 15 % in a poorly maintained system. Trap population is a mix of different types of traps such as thermodynamic or disc type, bimetallic, inverted bucket, float, and thermostatic. Preservation of biological diversity is necessary for sustainable development and rational use of coastal resources. In this paper structure of the cliff plant communities of the massif Tuapkhat (the Black Sea coast, Russia) are characterized. Flora of this coastal zone combines features of Mediterranean and middle European Russia types. Herbaceous and shrub life-forms and xeromorphous and petrophilous plant associations dominate at the studied area. The main factor determining the species composition of the examined communities is substrate character.

Background and objectives: Manipulation of plant organ growth is one of the primary reasons for the success of mankind allowing increasing amounts of food for human and livestock consumption. In contrast with the successful selection for desirable growth characteristics using plant breeding, transgenic manipulations with single genes has met limited success. While breeding is based on accumulation of many small alterations of growth, usually arise from slight changes in expression patterns, transgenic manipulations are primarily based on drastic, non-specific up-regulation or knock down of gen

Meristems were the central issue of our project. Genes that are required for cell division, cell elongation, cell proliferation and cell fate were studied in the tomato system. The analysis of the dUTPase and threonine deaminase genes, along with the dissection of their regulatory regions is completed, while that of the RNR2 and PPO genes is at an advanced stage. All these genes were isolated in our laboratory. In addition, 8 different MADS box genes were studied in transgenic plants and their genetic relevances discovered. We have also shown that a given MADS box gene can modify the polarity

Abstract:
The shoot apical meristem establishes plant architecture by continuously producing new lateral organs such as leaves, axillary meristems and flowers throughout the plant life cycle. This unique capacity is achieved by a group of self-renewing pluripotent stem cells that give rise to founder cells, which can differentiate into multiple cell and tissue types in response to environmental and developmental cues. Cell fate specification at the shoot apical meristem is programmed primarily by transcription factors acting in a complex gene regulatory network. In this project we proposed to provide si
