The aim of this study is to investigate the fluid-structural response to pulsatile Newtonian and non-Newtonian blood flow through an axisymmetric stenosed vessel using FLOTRAN and ANSYS. This is to provide a basic understanding of atherosclerosis. The flow was set to be laminar and follows a sinusoidal waveform. The solid model was set to have isotropic elastic properties. Konceptet kallas för ”den lätta flottan” och bygger på idén att med hjälp av modern teknik så kan samma förmågor som ryms i ett stort ytstridsfartyg spridas på flera små enheter. Sedan Försvarsmakten för ett antal år sedan började bemanna sina örlogsfartyg med tidsbegränsat anställda gruppbefäl och sjömän har personalomsättningen i denna kategori varit oväntat hög. I denna uppsats undersöks drivkrafterna att stanna kvar i sin anställning hos teknisk personal med en förhållandevis lång anställningstid inom personalkategorin. Undersökningen använde semistrukturerade intervjuer som analyserades genom meningskodning och meningskoncentrering. Analysen visade att de intervjuade gruppbefälen och sjömännen upplevde att de var en del av ett bra arbetslag med bra närmsta befäl.

The patterns of surface drift of eighty-nine undrogued RAFOS floats in the California Current System have been studied. The floats were launched in the California Undercurrent during 19922010 and were tracked by the ARGOS system when they surfaced at the end of their subsurface mission. The surface drift of these floats was typically equatorward in the California Current. However, some floats moved poleward into the Subpolar Gyre, and others drifted westward into the North Equatorial Current. Per ciascuno di essi sono state implementati due modelli di ottimizzazione, uno centralizzato e uno distribuito. I risultati ottenuti sono analizzati e confrontatati fra loro.
