Abstract:
Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) is a powerful technique allowing hardening and corrosion protection of valve metals due to formation of an oxide layer on the metal surface. The addition of fluoride ions to the alkaline electrolyte for the PEO processing of aluminum and magnesium alloys produces significant changes in the structure and properties of the coating [1-, however the mechanism of these changes is not clear. A study of the influence of the fluoride concentration on the composition, structure and morphology of thin (to 20 µm) PEO layers was performed. The oxide layer thickness on a

The paper focuses on batch control of granular materials in production of building materials from fluorine anhydrite. Batching equipment is intended for smooth operation and timely feeding of supply hoppers at a required level. Level sensors and a controller of an asynchronous screw drive motor are used to control filling of the hopper with industrial anhydrite binders. The controller generates a required frequency and ensures required productivity of a feed conveyor. Mamdani-type fuzzy inference is proposed for controlling the speed of the screw that feeds mixture components. As related to pr

The present work is aimed at the synthesis of fluorine substituted and carbonate substituted hydroxyapatites (FHA, CHA) by the mechanochemical method. The shortest milling time required for the synthesis of FHA and CHA using calcium hydroxide and diammonium hydrogen phosphate as precursors was estimated. In addition to the Ca and P precursors, ammonium carbonate and ammonium fluoride were used for carbonate and fluorine substitutions, respectively. Thermal stability of the synthesized FHA and CHA was evaluated. The phase composition and crystallite size were evaluated by the X-Ray Diffraction

Abstract:
Studies were conducted to find an acceptable non-mutagenic diamine to replace 4,4′-methylenedianiline (MDA), a suspect carcinogen, which is currently being used in PMR-15 polyimide applications. Several diamines containing fluorine and trifluoromethyl substituent groups were synthesized. The diamines were polymerized with the dimethyl ester of 3,3′,4,4′ -benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid (BTDE), using the monomethyl ester of nadic acid (NE) as an endcap. The effect of diamine structure on rheological properties, glass transition temperature, and thermo-oxidative stability was investigated. Unid
