The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of fluoroscopic imaging during closed reduction and percutaneous fixation of intra-articular thumb metacarpal fractures. Closed reduction and percutaneous fixation was assessed in eight simulated intra-articular thumb metacarpal fractures, using fluoroscopy and digital radiographs. Displacement and fracture step-off were measured during fluoroscopy, on plain radiographs, and by direct visualization after careful dissection. Displacement on fluoroscopy was 0.8 (SD 1.0) mm and 1.2 (SD 1.4) with radiographic imaging. Direct visualization sho

The distribution of scattered radiation has been determined and results show a much higher dose rate in cases of an overcouch tube arrangement. In this article, the main attention is paid to the problem of the quality of labeling of fluoroscopic images used in training artificial intelligence models used as part of the automatic analysis of inspection complex images in the Federal Customs Service, an improved mechanism for labeling fluoroscopic images has been developed, and an assessment of the current and useful effect from the introduction of an improved mechanism developed by the author. The analysis of the structural elements that form the quality of the inspection complex images marking and their ratio when marking the images is

Endoscopic spine surgery (ESS) is growing in popularity worldwide. An expanding body of literature demonstrates rapid functional recovery with reduced morbidity compared to open techniques. Both full endoscopic spine surgery, or uniportal endoscopy, and unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) can be employed in conjunction with various navigation and enabling technologies for assistance with localization of anatomic orientation and assessment of the intraoperative target spinal pathology. This review article describes various navigation technologies in ESS, including 2-dimensional (2D) fluoroscopi

BACKGROUND: Various regulations and practice patterns develop on the basis of Local Coverage Determination (LCD), which are variably perceived as guidelines and/or mandated polices/ regulations. LCDs developed in 2021 and effective since December 2021 mandated a minimum of 2 views for final needle placement with contrast injection which includes both anteroposterior (AP) and lateral or oblique view. Radiation safety has been a major concern for pain physicians and multiple tools have been developed to reduce radiation dose, along with improvement in technologies to limit radiation exposure whi

ObjectivesDynamic chest radiography (DCR) is a novel real-time digital fluoroscopic imaging system that produces clear, wide field-of-view diagnostic images of the thorax and diaphragm in motion, alongside novel metrics on moving structures within the thoracic cavity. We describe the use of DCR in the measurement of diaphragm motion in a pilot series of cases of suspected diaphragm dysfunction.MethodsWe studied 21 patients referred for assessment of diaphragm function due to suspicious clinical symptoms or imaging (breathlessness, orthopnoea, reduced exercise tolerance and/or an elevated hemid

We aimed to determine the accuracy and reliability of measures characterizing anterior, lateral, and posterior acetabular coverage on intraoperative fluoroscopic images compared to postoperative radiographs when performing periacetabular osteotomies (PAOs). A study involving 100 PAOs was initiated applying a standardized intraoperative imaging protocol. Coverage was determined by the lateral center edge angle (LCEA), the Tönnis angle (TA), and the anterior and posterior wall index (AWI, PWI). An intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) model was used to assess interrater (ICC (3,2)) and intrar

Abstract The pilot dose survey on paediatric general radiography, fluoroscopy and CT procedures was performed in four university hospitals. The analysis of data was focused on the radiography and CT imaging of head, chest, abdomen, pelvis and spine and fluoroscopic procedures of gastrointestinal and urinary tracts. The survey was conducted by the National Radiation Protection Institute. Two hospitals exported data from the patient dose management system, while the others collected the data manually. The methodology of diagnostic reference levels assessment was proposed and tested. Local diagno
