Abstract:

High power chip on board light emitting diode (HPCOBLED) are a promising solid state light technology for a variety of lighting applications. In this study, we studied temperature effect on luminous flux of HPCOBLED using VMI-PR-001 system of Vietnam Metrology Institute. The results according to the temperature Tc is increasing, luminous flux reduced. Especially HPCOBLED is larger power, decreasing luminous flux is larger. Reason of this is chance power. HPCOBLED model describes the temperature affection on luminous flux of HPCOBLED. The results of HPCOBLED model matched with that measured by the luminous flux measurement system (VMI-PR-001, Vietnam).

Abstract:
The paper analyzes the results of comparative studies of the light and engineering characteristics of LED retrofit lamps and filament lamps of the A60 form factor of nine manufacturers: Uniel (Russia – China), JazzWay (Russia – China), Philips (the Netherlands), Ecola (China), Wolta (Germany), Feron (Russia), Rev (Germany), Osram (Germany), Forza (China) – luminous flux, power consumption, correlated colour temperature, luminous efficacy, flicker index, spectral distribution of the radiation flux density during 6000 hours of lamps burning. The test results show that: а) the measured value of the initial luminous flux of all LED retrofit lamps corresponds to the declared; б) the measured value of the initial luminous flux of filament LED lamps is lower than the declared values by an average of 19 %; в) high value of the luminous flux maintenance factor after 6000 hours of burning among LED retrofit lamps showed Uniel LED10 W 4000 К (94.5 %), Philips Essential LED9 W 6500 K (96.2 %), Wolta LX 12 W 3000 К (95.3 %), for JazzWay PLED-SP 10 W 5000 K and Ecola Classic LED10.2 W 4000 K lamps, the luminous flux maintenance factor was less than 90 %; г) the luminous flux maintenance factor after 6000 hours of burning of all filament LED lamps ranged from 91.3 % to 96.4 %, except for the Feron LB‑57 7 W 2700 K lamp – 89.3 %. According to the test results, only for the Uniel LED10 W 4000 K lamp, the measured values of the light and engineering characteristics and the flicker index, including after 6000 hours of burning, correspond to the declared ones. The high luminous flux maintenance factor after 6000 hours of burning allows this lamp to be classified as A-category in terms of decreasing luminous flux.

Abstract:
High-power light emitting diode (LED) develops greatly owing to its high energy efficiency, high color rendering and long life. However, it is important to design a secondary optical lens for the LED lamps to obtain a good output efficiency and light distribution pattern. The purpose of the secondary optical design for light emitting diode (LED) illumination is to rearrange the luminous flux output of LED and then achieve the desired luminous intensity distribution. In this paper, a polygon prism lens for street lamps was designed and the desired illumination was achieved. The design procedure of the polygon prism lens is presented. The simulation of the street lamps is implemented using Tracepro 7.0. The results show that the polygon prism lens can distribute the luminous flux accurately and reasonably. The luminous flux can be saved as much as possible and a rectangular distribution of luminous flux is attained.

This work contains analysis of characteristics of automobile lamps by Philips, KOITO, ETI flip chip LEDs, Osram, General Electric (GE), Gtinthebox, OSLAMPledbulbs with H1, H4, H7, H11 caps: luminous flux, luminous efficacy, correlated colour temperature. Characteristics of the studied samples are analysed before the operation of the lamps. The analysis of the calculation results allows us to make a conclusion that the values of correlated colour temperature of halogen lamps are close to the parameters declared by manufacturers. The analysis of the study results has shown that, based on actual values of correlated colour temperature, it is not advisable to use LED lamps in unfavourable weather conditions (such as rain, fog, snow). The results of the study demonstrate that there is a slight dispersion of actual values of luminous flux of halogen lamps by different manufacturers. Maximum variation between values of luminous flux of different lamps does not exceed 14 %. The analysis of the measurement results has shown that actual values of luminous flux of all halogen lamps comply with the mandatory rules specified in the UN/ECE Regulation No. 37 and luminous flux of LED lamps exceeds maximum allowable value by more than 8 %. Luminous efficacy of LED lamps is higher than that of halogen lamps: more than 82 lm/W and lower power consumption. The results of the measurements have shown that power consumption of a LED automobile lamp is lower than that of similar halogen lamps by 3 times and their luminous efficacy is higher by 5 times.

Abstract:
AbstractIn the last decades, new solutions for improving lighting properties of white LED lamps (WLEDs) have been the main research direction in optoelectronics. In this paper, a modern approach for enhancing luminous flux and color quality of white LED lamps was presented. By mixing green-emitting CaF2:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphor with yellow-emitting YAG:Ce phosphor compound, the luminous flux and color quality of white LED lamps with conformal phosphor geometry (CPG) increased significantly. From the obtained results it follows that, the luminous flux increased more than 1.5 times, and the correlated color temperature deviation decreased more than 4 times in comparison with the non-green-emitting CaF2:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphor. The presented research shows that the green-emitting CaF2:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphor could become a good candidate for enhancing luminous flux and color quality of white LED lamps.

Abstract:
A simple iterative optimization method is developed to improve the exiting light uniformity of the edge-lit backlight module. The method uses the relative deviation of the average luminous flux of the entire light guide plate (LGP) and the luminous flux of each region as constraint criterion and the ratio of the luminous flux of each region to the average luminous flux of the LGP as adjustment coefficient to adjust the density of the microstructures in each region. This process loops until the relative deviations of all regions meet a prespecified threshold value. A LGP based on microprism structure is presented to validate the method. The initial values, which represent the size of the microstructures manufactured on the bottom surfaces of the LGP, d0-dependent luminous fluxes, microstructure size distributions, iterations of the LGP, and the relative deviation of each region are discussed. The simulation results show that it is a very practical method for the uniformity improvement of the backlight when an appropriate initial value is selected and the final uniformity is better than 90% after optimization.

Abstract:
This article presents the methodology and results of pilot field illuminance measurements using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The main goal of the study was to quantify the luminous flux emitted in the upper hemisphere (toward the sky) based on obtained measurement data. The luminous flux emitted toward the sky is the source of undesirable light pollution. For test purposes, a height-adjustable mobile park lantern was constructed, at the top of which any type of luminaire can be installed. In the pilot measurements, two real opal sphere-type luminaires were considered. The lantern was situated in an open area located away from a large city agglomeration. To determine the unusable luminous flux, illuminance was measured, placing the necessary measuring equipment on board a UAV. The measurements were supplemented with the registration of illuminance on the ground upon which the lantern was installed. Based on these data, the useful luminous flux was calculated. The findings show that UAVs may be successfully used for the assessment of the influence of lighting on the light pollution effect.

Abstract:
The use of an optimization method for the determination of equivalent linear electrical model elements of gallium arsenide field effect transistor (MESFET) is presented. Sensibility and accuracy of this method are analysed, a preoptimization method is proposed for the amelioration of the results accuracy. A computer driven static and dynamic electrical measurement set has been developped. The main features are the realization of an efficient static characteristic plotter and an investigation of the microwave de-embedding of the component. The equivalent electrical model element variations with regard to the incident power light are presented, only a few of them have a significant variation. The optical frequency control of oscillator is theoretically shown and experimentally verified. The design and the realization of two narrow-band amplifiers emphasizes the light control gain. A graphical method for the feed-back impedance determination of flat gain amplifier over a wide frequency range is presented. This method is used to design an input-output matched flat gain amplifier between 4 and 8 GHz. Other potential applications are also presented and in addition an inversed grid transistor which permits to increase photoelectric effects

Abstract:
A new analytical model is proposed for the gallium arsenide field effect transistor (MESFET) in the saturation region. When the frequency is less than 1 GHz, the model provides the static characteristics and the extrinsic elements of the equivalent scheme. The model is based on an approximate quadratic form for the depletion region when electron velocity reaches up to the saturation velocity. The potential in the channel is given by the solution of Poisson's equation by taking into account the variation of the electron density inside it. Main physical phenomena like edge effects, overshoot velocity and the carrier injection in the buffer layer are taken into account. Theoretical and experimental results for the I-V characteristics, transconductance, output conductance, gate-source capacitance and gate-drain capacitance are made on submicrometre gat MESFET without and under illumination when the photon energy is greater than the gap bandwidth of the semiconductor. Applications of photo effects in MESFET are given with the design of MESFET amplifier and oscillator controlled by the light

Abstract:
Most of experimental models of uveitis are mediated by lymphocytic subtypes CD4+ T-Helper 1 (Th1) et Th17. The aim of this thesis is to study the immune mechanisms in idiopathic uveitis (i.e. unknown etiology) in humans. First, we will determine the biological spectrum of 30 cytokines/ chemokines/ growth factors in aqueous humour and sera by Luminex® technology. Those mediators will be measured in the serum and aqueous humour of patients with active intermediate and posterior uveitis classified as idiopathic. Those results will be compared to a cohort of patients with no inflammation and to patients with uveitis of various causes. We found that the profile of mediators changes regarding to the cause of the intraocular inflammation. The proinflammatory process is related to increased levels of cytokines Th1 (IFNγ, IL-12), Th17 (IL-17), TNF-α, IL-6, MIP-1α, MIP-1β, MCP-1, G-CSF and IP-10 idiopathic uveitis. The sera of the patients with idiopathic uveitis have increased levels IL-17 and IP-10. Secondly, the immune mechanisms of uveitis were studied by adaptive optics imaging (FIOA) and particularly the observation of anatomic changes related to ocular inflammations. We ruled out any correlation betweeen the perivascular cellular opacification in FIOA and the cytokines/ chemokines found in the eyes with uveitis. An understanding of the profile of mediators in inflammation and their determination could help to target idiopathic uveitis with correct therapies

Abstract:

Abstract:
The reliability consideration of LED products includes both luminous flux drop and color shift. Previous research either talks about luminous maintenance or color shift, because luminous flux degradation usually takes very long time to observe. In this paper, the impact of a VOC (volatile organic compound) contaminated luminous flux and color stability are examined. As a result, both luminous degradation and color shift had been recorded in a short time. Test samples are white, phosphor-converted, high-power LED packages. Absolute radiant flux is measured with integrating sphere system to calculate the luminous flux. Luminous flux degradation and color shift distance were plotted versus aging time to show the degradation pattern. A prognostic health management (PHM) method based on the state variables and state estimator have been proposed in this paper. In this PHM framework, unscented kalman filter (UKF) was deployed as the carrier of all states. During the estimation process, third order dynamic transfer function was used to implement the PHM framework. Both of the luminous flux and color shift distance have been used as the state variable with the same PHM framework to exam the robustness of the method. Predicted remaining useful life is calculated at every measurement point to compare with the tested remaining useful life. The result shows that state estimator can be used as the method for the PHM of LED degradation with respect to both luminous flux and color shift distance. The prediction of remaining useful life of LED package, made by the states estimator and data driven approach, falls in the acceptable error-bounds (20%) after a short training of the estimator.

Abstract:
This work proposes a datasheet-based methodology to estimate the correlated color temperature (CCT) and the luminous flux of one or a combination of multiple white Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs). This methodology is based on the interaction between the different domains (colorimetrical, optical, thermal and electrical) that control the LED's behavior. An experimental setup with LEDs of 4000K and 6500K CCT was built and tested under multiple operating conditions, in order to verify the accuracy of the proposed method. Results presented good correlation between estimated and measured data, with a maximum error of 1.05% for CCT and 3.13% for luminous flux.
