In this paper, we examine the association between management strategy and a firm’s sustainability of accounting earnings over almost 20,000 firm-year observations in South Korea between 2000 and 2017. Using the differentiation strategy developed by Porter for measuring management strategy, we find that firms that implement the differentiation strategy make more-sustainable accounting earnings, as measured by the persistence of return on assets. In addition, regardless of the magnitude of R&D investments, proper implementation of the differentiation strategy is positively associated with th

Skeletal muscle development and regeneration rely on the successive activation of specific transcription factors that engage cellular fate, promote commitment, and drive differentiation. Emerging evidence demonstrates that epigenetic regulation of gene expression is crucial for the maintenance of the cell differentiation status upon division and, therefore, to preserve a specific cellular identity. This depends in part on the regulation of chromatin structure and its level of condensation. Chromatin architecture undergoes remodeling through changes in nucleosome composition, such as alteration

Chromatin structure is an essential regulator of gene expression. Its state of compaction contributes to the regulation of genetic programs, in particular during differentiation. Abstract:
In the last two decades, tremendous advances have been made in our understanding of the basic principles governing two agriculturally relevant symbioses of plants with beneficial microorganisms: i) the nitrogen-fixing nodule bacteria of legumes and angiosperms and ii) phosphate-acquiring mycorrhiza fungi. This special focus issue brings together articles covering aspects of evolution and phylogeny, diversity, signaling, differentiation, and development of new investigative tools. Together they provide a window into the exciting world of plant-microbe symbioses.

Abstract:
An adequate protection from oxidative and inflammatory reactions, together with the promotion of oligodendrocyte progenitor (OP) differentiation, is needed to recover from myelin damage in demyelinating diseases. Mitochondria are targets of inflammatory and oxidative insults and are essential in oligodendrocyte differentiation. It is known that nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor/antioxidant responsive element (NRF2/ARE) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma/PPAR-γ response element (PPAR-γ/PPRE) pathways control inflammation and overcome mitochondrial impairment. In order to support the ability of business people to face all the challenges of increasingly fierce competition, many strategies must be prepared. Competitive strategy is able to affect the overall performance of the corporation in order to win the competition. The purpose of this research is to prove the outcome of Competitive Differentiation Strategy, Cost Leadership Strategy and Focus Strategy on Corporation Performance either simultaneously or partially. This research was conducted on sub-division corporation retail listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2019 period. The quan

Abstract:
This paper reports the findings of a study that investigates the differences between Japanese, British and American companies (that are operating in the United States) in how they use Porter’s generic strategies of low cost, differentiation, and focus/niche. Specifically, the study addresses the following issues: (1) What constitutes the three different generic strategies of low cost, differentiation and focus/niche? (2) Do American, Japanese, and British companies use different generic strategies in order to gain competitive advantage?

Abstract:
In systemic sclerosis (SSc), the development of fibrosis seems to be a consequence of the initial ischemic process related to an endothelial injury. The initial trigger event in SSc is still unknown, but circulating progenitor cells (CPCs) might play a key role. Such cells have the ability to traffic into injury sites, exhibiting inflammatory features of macrophages, tissue remodeling properties of fibroblasts, and vasculogenesis functions of endothelial cells. The different subsets of CPCs described thus far in SSc arise from a pool of circulating monocyte precursors (CD14+ cells) and probabl
