A família Passifloraceae é conhecida mundialmente por suas flores exuberantes, frutos comestíveis e pelo uso na medicina. Composta por duas tribos, com apenas Passifloreae ocorrendo abundantemente no Brasil, principalmente espécies pertencentes ao gênero Passiflora. Este gênero compreende quatro subgêneros, Astrophea, Decaloba, Deidamioides e Passiflora. Destes Decaloba e Passiflora são grupos monofiléticos e os mais numerosos em espécies. The aim of this research was to investigate the use of high spectral resolution sensors to recover more detailed information on the biochemical composition of forest canopies. The research was divided into two broad areas: laboratory and field studies. Courier, Knack, Assail, Calypso, and Oberon treatments on cantaloupe were effective in maintaining reduced numbers of WF eggs, immatures, and adults for 30 DAT. After 30 DAT, all treatments showed that WF adult counts began to increase. Courier, Knack, Assail, Calypso, and Oberon treated cantaloupe leaves had adult WF counts of one-half or less that of the untreated check and remaining treatments. A single application of buprofezin (Applaud7) at 0.38 lb AI/A had the fewest number of adult whiteflies (WF) on rating dates at 13, 21, and 27 days after treatment (DAT). The number of immature WF at 21 DAT of a single Applaud application ranged from 0.8 to 5.2 nymphs/leaf, significantly less than the untreated.
