An overall view of the history of the Jew’s harp in Sweden has been lacking up to the 2020s. The other main focus of this article is the ideo-historical perception of the instrument. We proposed a facile strategy for architecting the interface morphology to create tougher and stronger interfaces in additively manufactured multi-material polymer composites in this study. A sutural interfacial morphology between two dissimilar polymer phases PLA (hard) and TPU (soft) is designed and fabricated by the fused filament fabrication technique. The interfacial toughness measurements by the double cantilever beam test reveal a linear correlation between the interfacial toughness and protrusion amplitude. The proposed interfacial architecture can result in up to a 16–18-fold increase

Abstract Carbon nitride films were grown on silicon and hard disk substrates using pulsed dc magnetron sputtering in a single cathode deposition system. Substrates were mounted on a specially designed rotating holder that allowed 45° tilt angle and substrate rotation about the surface normal up to 20 rpm. AFM scans over 10×10 μm2 showed that 50 nm thick CNx films prepared under optimum substrate bias conditions have r.m.s. surface roughness almost four times lower than those prepared without substrate tilt and rotation. We observed a two-fold reduction in corrosion damage for hard disk substra

Collaborative filtering (CF), as a standard method for recommendation with implicit feedback, tackles a semi-supervised learning problem where most interaction data are unobserved. Such a nature makes existing approaches highly rely on mining negatives for providing correct training signals. However, mining proper negatives is not a free lunch, encountering with a tricky trade-off between mining informative hard negatives and avoiding false ones. We devise a new approach named as Hardness-Aware Debiased Contrastive Collaborative Filtering (HDCCF) to resolve the dilemma. It could sufficiently e

Abstract:
“Environmental justice is not just about the environment-it about people. It’s about dignity. It’s about equity.” The damage we do to the planet does not land evenly. Dark smoke hangs over busy, low-income neighbourhoods, while coastlines that poor island families call home slowly slip below wave after wave. Too often, those who did the least to cause the problem feel the blow first and hardest. That imbalance sits at the heart of environmental justice. It says that caring for nature and caring for people must walk hand in hand. When a new mine opens, a highway stretches through a community, o
