Full textThe general setting of this work is the study of symmetry groups of infinite-dimensional spaces. We answer algebraic questions, using analytical methods. To be more specific, we study certain representations of the complex symplectic group in functional spaces. These representations are characterised by their isotypic decompositions with respect to a maximal compact subgroup. In this work, we describe these decompositions in two different models: a classical model (compact picture) and a more recent one (non-standard picture). We show that this establishes a connection between two families of special functions (hypergeometric functions and Bessel functions); these families correspond to second order differential equations, which are Fuchsian in one case and non-Fuchsian in the other. We also establish a link with certain Emden-Fowler equations and exhibit a simple differential operator that acts on the isotypic decompositions

Full textThe central result of this thesis is a lower bound for the rank of the group of rational points on an elliptic curve that are defined over certain Hilbert class fields. We evaluate various asymptotics of moments of quadratic L-series. Several solutions are proposed: a geometric one (equirepartition of small points) and an analytic one (shifted convolution problem, sums of exponential sums) have been discovered. This work is in continuity with recent investigation concerning equirepartition, subconvexity and special values of automorphic L-functions

Full textThe aim of this PhD work is to study the Lp-boundedness of operators on two classes of two-step nilpotent Lie groups, using Plancherel formulas and spherical functions as tools. The first class of groups consist s of the groups of Heisenberg type, and the second, of the two-step free nilpotent Lie groups (denote Nv,2 for v generators). In the latter case, we develop a radial Fourier calculus. Our study has focused on the maximal functions associated with Koranyi spheres, together with their square functions, and the convolution operator defined with the radial Fourier calculus on the two-step free nilpotent Lie group (radial Fourier multiplier problem). In fact, one chapter of this work is devoted to the proof of Lp-inequalities for the maximal spherical function on the two considered classes of groups. Our method is based on interpolation for the same operator family as in the euclidean case, on Lp-boundedness for the standard maximal function, and L2-inequalities for square functions. These L2-inequalities are based on Plancherel formula and on the properties of bounded spherical functions for orthogonal groups. On Nv,2, we construct the bounded spherical functions using representations of the semidirect product of Nv,2 with the orthogonal group. We also obtain some properties of the Kohn sublaplacian and the radial Plancherel measure. Then we present a first study of the radial Fourier multiplier problem, with the aim of giving our solutions for some technical difficulties

Full textLooking towards the Beilinson's conjecture, we relate some special values of the degree four L function associated to a cuspidal automorphic representation of the symplectic group GSP4 to the image under Beilinson's regulator of some motivic cohomology classes on products of the universal abelian scheme over the Shimura variety S of GSP4' These classes are defined as the image under the Gysin morphism associated to the embedding of a product of two modular curves in S of cup products of Eisenstein symbols. Comparing the higher direct images of some mixed Hodge modules in the Baily-Borel compactification of this product of modular curves on one side and in the one of S on the other side, we show that these classes map under Beilinsori's regulator to extensions between the trivial mixed lR-Hodge structure and the intersection cohomology in middle degree of S. Via Poincare duality and the explicit description of Deligne cohomology by means of currents, this allows us to relate these classes to an half-integral value of an integral representation of the L-function. Studying rationnality properties of the automorphic form appearing in the integral, we deduce a relation between these classes, an archimedean integral, an occult period invariant defined and studied by Harris, a Deligne period and the special value of the L function predicted by the Beilinson's conjecture. We assume that 11" is stable, of multiplicity one and has a Bessel model of a specific type
Dadoun, Yoël. "p-adic families of special cycles on a tower of unitary Shimura varieties." Thesis, Université Paris-Saclay (ComUE), 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019SACLS528.
Full textWe study the p-adic properties of a family of special algebraic 1-cycles defined on a 3-dimensional unitary Shimura variety which appears in the setting of the Gan-Gross-Prasad conjectures. These cycles, introduced by Jetchev and also studied by Boumasmoud-Brooks-Jetchev and Boumasmoud, arise from the diagonal embedding of U(1,1) inside U(2,1) x U(1,1) attached to a CM extension E/F. These satisfy "horizontal" and "vertical" distribution relations for their conductors, making this family a new instance of a geometric Euler system generalizing the family of "CM-points" on modular curves, whose use by Kolyvagin provided a major conceptual advance towards the BSD conjecture. The proof of these local relations between the Galois action and the action of the Hecke algebra of G= U(2,1) x U(1,1) make full use of some operators acting on the local Bruhat-Tits building of G, at the corresponding finite places of F. We construct a tau-local filtration of G - for some inert place tau of F above p - by Iwahori-type compact open subgroups, which are the stabilizers of an increasing family of segments in a same apartment. We adapt to segments the notion of "successor" operators studied by Boumasmod-Brooks-Jetchev and show that these arise from the local Iwahori-Hecke algebra. We show that the tower of varieties induced by this filtration makes the Galois and Hecke actions "compatible" with the change-of-level maps. This level-wise vertical relation is an ingredient towards the existence of a p-adic family of Euler systems in the middle-degree étale cohomology of the Shimura variety attached to G

Full textThis work concerns the educative function of caseworkers in institution. Despite the caseworkers‘ different profiles and their different frameworks (time and space related), the educative function could be described as a choral function in reference to the Greek tragedy’s choir, in its institution first quality. The tragic metaphor made it possible to think this function according to the group paradigm offered by metapsychology(psychoanalysis). Group psychoanalytical theories made it possible to examine the inter‐subjective link and the question of transfer in social work, so much for the caseworkers than the “users”. The educative function, as a choral function, function of group psyche, allowed us to think the plural educative relationship in their conformation potential, contributing to the primary task. The inter‐subjective link problematic turns out to be relevant to found a “clinic of education”

Full textThe use of markers of conceptual relation for building terminological resources has been frequently emphasized. Those markers are used in corpora to detect “Term1 – marker – Term2” triple, which are then interpreted as “Term1 - Conceptual Relation – Term2” triple allowing to represent knowledge as a relational system model. The transition from one triple to another questions the stability of this link, regardless of corpora. In this thesis, we study the variation of the “candidate-markers” of relation taking into account the domain and the text genre. To this end, we identified the French markers for the hyperonym, the meronym and the causal relation, and systematically analyzed their functioning within corpora varying according to the domain (breast cancer vs. volcanology) and the text genre (popular science vs. specialized texts). For each context containing a candidate-marker, we evaluated the capacity of the candidate-marker to really indicate the required relation. Our researches attest to the relevance of taking into account the domain and the text genre when describing the functioning of conceptual relation markers

Full textSpecial social security schemes for civil servants belong to the French mythology. Their mention is usually embraced by all, which is spoken of as long-acquired habits, categorical privileges or afterimages of the past. Legally qualify social protection of the civil servants of special social security schemes raise questions. The concept of « scheme » implies a relative overall consistency. The integration to the « social security » means to respect the same principles and operating modes as the rest of the institution. The adjective « special » suggests that the scheme has the same relationship to general scheme as special law to ordinary law. These three items are questionable. Social protection of the civil servants is an iterative construction, spread over more than a century, where the benefits and guarantees each based on its proper logic. A large part of this social protection consists of an administrative cover, endorsed by public employers. The general scheme is not the ordinary social security law. That being said, this is another study of social security in general and social protection of the civil servants in particular who can begin. All for finding an identity crisis: with its integration to social security, social protection of the civil servants succeeds in expressing its uniqueness; but it’s because this social protection tends to be equated with social security that relativity may be deduced from it

Full textThe creation of a specialised court dedicated to EU staff cases, the Civil Service Tribunal (CST), was intended to tackle the large increase in caseload at the same time as bringing specific judicial expertise to bear on this field. Twelve years later, the EU Court system is undergoing a veritable structural upheaval of which the reform of the General Court and the abolition of the CST are the most emblematic elements. The three-level system of judicial control advocated by the Treaty of Nice, which foresaw the establishment of specialised chambers (later called secialised tribunals by the Treaty of Lisbon) and provided a legal basis for the establishment, in 2005, of the CST was effectively set aside by this process of reform. However, the General Court, in its new guise, now itself faces a substantial challenge of specialisation in its own right. In meeting that challenge, it will inevitably draw on the experience of the only specialised tribunal yet to have been established at EU level. The CST’s separate procedural framework, its structure, composition and functioning will once again come under the microscope as thought is given as to the lessons to be drawn from the decade of experience of this court and its handling of civil service litigation. This thesis seeks to contribute to the continuing debate about specialised courts or specialisation in general in the EU Court system

Full textThis thesis concerns the role of coordinators as created and developed within residential care homes in specialised education during the 21st Century. We will be investigating a role that is invisible in the professional sector, existing neither in legislation or in Collective Agreements, and to which very few industry journals are devoted. This research was carried out against a historical perspective of professions in the specialised education industry, but also from a multiscalar perspective, articulating macro-, meso- and microsocial perspectives to gain a better view of the changes associated with the division of labour within organisations. By mobilising the sociology of professions and the sociology of organisations, and via an ethnographical survey, this thesis shows that the role of coordinators reveals a shift in the references of professionals in the closed sector of specialised education towards the commercial world. This analysis is centred on two major themes, which depict a role founded in the logic of competence. The former theme considers the plurality of formal attributes, activities and profiles amongst coordinators. The latter theme reveals a genuine activity governed by institutional contexts, changes in the division of labour, interplay among actors and interactions with professionals, coaching and field work. We will thus show that, by modelling themselves on the organisation, coordinators fulfil a role of translation and crystallisation that facilitates relations between professionals. We view the silence on the subject of this role as a strategic choice, facilitated by an individualisation of the role, an isolation of coordinators, and by determinist statements addressed to professionals in the field

Full textThis research develops an understanding of the suitable adapted support done by “school ancillaries” (SA, in France, person contracted to provide support to special needs children in the classroom) and addressed to pupils with disturbed executive functions during a science class in ordinary primary classrooms. In order to characterise this support, five different theoretical frameworks where articulated. The first one, the ergonomic approach, studied the way the SA are dealing with their work environment. Researches in psychology allow to understand the concept of “heling to learn” in the case of the support by SA. The reference to neuropsychology allows discerning the cognitive disability and their possible impact on learnings in the context of science teaching. We based our work on research in science education in order to identify the specificities of pupils with disturbed executive functions in science class. The last theoretical grounds questions the notion of partnership between two adults in the classroom (teacher and SA) and research works allow to better understand this organisation. The method to study the support given by the SA was designed and the data collected (video, interviews). The main results highlight that the support of the two categories of professionals – teacher and SA – covers multiple modalities and can be characterized. Such support falls under arrangements of cognitive and didactical aspects. The pupils with disturbed executive functions make progress and do not show more difficulties than some other pupils of the class. The SA and the teachers stress the complexity to support and answer together to the special

Full textIn France, the education of students with cognitive disorders, labelled as mentally disabled, has been growing since the act of the 11 of February 2005. The inclusion paradigm that is ruled by law at the European and international levels, has greatly influenced this development as well as the disability studies. The ULIS, provide some pedagogical support to include Special Education Needs students into mainstream classrooms. The organization of such a device varies according to context and education areas. If inclusion has significantly increased in lower secondary schools, the attendance of students with cognitive disabilities in vocational schools has started only ten years ago and the process faces liminality challenges. Thanks to the collection of ethnographic data based on observation and documents analysis as well as the completion of semi-directive face-to-face interviews conducted with 36 students and 30 educational professionals (coordinators, teachers, orientation counsellors, management staff), we set out to analyse the undergoing process for the orientation practices of ULIS students in secondary education. Based on the implementation of the Parcours Avenir project, these guidance practices open up new perspectives for these students whose orientation has been mainly guided by socio-therapeutic approaches. We show how the ULIS device, under specific conditions, can offer the basis for a socializing and empowering environment that contributes to open up new training perspectives to students with cognitive disabilities
Nguyen, Thi Tuyet Mai. "Essay on natural resources, economic growth, development and equity." Thesis, Paris 1, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020PA01E019.
Full textSustainable development is an attractive topic for economists. In the literature on economic growth and sustainable development, there are two core approaches used in most discussions. The first one is recognizing the importance of natural resources as well as strategies for using these resources for economic development in the context of their depletion. The second one is the issue of intergenerational equity in which the needs of the present generations can be assured without compromising the ability to meet the needs of the future generation. My thesis aims to study theoretical models on natural resources, economic growth, development and equity. Chapter I considers a two-sector economy with externalities. We study a theoretical model that investigates the relationship between the optimal dynamics of economic growth using renewable resources and environmental quality. In this model, the industrial sector uses intermediate inputs to produce a final consumption good, and another sector, called the exploitation sector, engages in exploiting a renewable resource. This resource can be sold directly at an exogenously determined market price, generating an additional source of income. We also take into account the negative externalities of the polluting industrial sector on the regenerating capacity of the renewable resource sector. Without the usual convexity or the super-modularity, we prove that the economy evolves to increase the net gain of stock some day in the future. This property ensures that in the long run, the economy gets very close to a steady state. We also establish the conditions ensuring the convergence of the economy in the long run. For sustainable development, one of the most difficult problems relying on criteria for Social Welfare Function is the reconciliation between equality and efficiency. The Anonymity Axiom states that the social ordering is invariant to the information regarding individual orderings. The Pareto Axiom imposes that if at least one generation increases its utility then the social welfare must improve. However, there is no SWF which satisfies both the Anonymity and Pareto Axioms. To overcome this difficulty, some authors propose several approaches to mitigate these axioms. Therefore, a lot of criteria have been introduced such as: Dominance, Weak Dominance, Weak Pareto, Monotonicity and so on. In the second chapter of my thesis, we have revisited some properties of a SWF in the literature taking into account the continuity of this SWF under different topologies. […] Furthermore, we propose the notions weak no-dictactorship and strong no-dictatorship of the present and the future following the spirit of Chichilniski and provide a detailed description for parameters characterizing the two No dictatorship. In chapter 3, we study an inter-temporal optimization problem using a criterion which is a combination of Ramsey and Rawls criteria. A detailed description of the saving behavior through time is provided. […] The last chapter develops a theoretical model to access the determinants of the effectiveness of Special Economic Zone and the conditions for its implementation. The results of this study show that there is a threshold such that for all the initial savings of a country above this level, it will be optimal to invest in new technology. Moreover, several factors including the price of technological capital, the wage of high-skilled labor, the initial income of the economy and the total factor productivity in the SEZ sector, endogenously determine this threshold. This chapter also proposes a service sector as an additional source to the accumulated capital, that can help the country pass this threshold

Full textThe nucleolus of mammalian cells contains hundreds of box C/D small nucleolar RNAs (SNORDs). Majority of them, guide sequence-specific 2'-O ribose methylations into ribosomal RNA (rRNA). Some of them facilitate RNA folding and cleavages of ribosomal RNA precursors or guide ribose methylations into spliceosomal small nuclear RNA U6. Recent studies propose that some SNORD could target other transcripts, possibly messenger RNA as suggested by the brain-specific SNORD115. SNORD115 is processed from tandemly repeated genes embedded in the imprinted SNURF-SNRPN domain. Defects in gene expression at this domain are causally linked to rare disease: the Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). Excitingly, SNORD115 displays an extensive region of complementary to a brain-specific mRNA encoding the serotonin receptor 5-HT2C. SNORD115 could influence 5-HT2C signaling by fine-tuning alternative splicing or A to I RNA editing of 5-HT2C pre-mRNA. Reduced 5-HT2C receptor activity could contribute to impaired emotional response and/or compulsive overeating that characterized the syndrome. My work was to test this hypothesis using a CRISPR/Cas9-mediated SNORD115 knockout mouse model. My results show that loss of SNORD115 expression, in vivo, does not alter the post-transcriptional regulation of 5-HT2C pre-mRNA processing. Others results from the team do not reveal any defects in anxio-depressive phenotypes and eating behaviour. Our study questions the regulatory roles of SNORD115 in brain functions and behavioural disturbance associated with PWS. On other hand, I have studied ribose methylation sites in rRNA from mouse tissues. This work was included in emerging field of the specialized ribosome hypothesis which suggests heterogeneity in ribosomes may impact activity of ribosomes. Our results show significant changes at few discrete set of sites, especially in rRNA from developing tissues. Also, rRNA from developing tissues is globally less methylated than rRNA from adult tissues. We focus on LSU-Gm4593 site because this position is specifically methylated only during development and hardly ever detected in adult tissues. Methylation at LSU-G4593 is guided by SNORD78. We propose that the expression levels of SNORD78 during development appeared to be regulated by alternative splicing of the host-gene and to correlate with the methylation level of its target site at LSU-G4593. We've used a human cell line (HEK293T) inactivated for the SNORD78 gene in order to understand the functionally role of the corresponding ribose methylation. Our work did not demonstrate any overt cellular phenotypes, even though translation fidelity and the precise function of LSU-Gm4593 remains unknown

Full textWhile the radical distinction between criminal law and civil liability is classically taught, a thorough survey of positive law reveals a general and profound trend towards a confusion of these two disciplines. Faced with this paradox, the jurist wonders : how to articulate the civil and criminal laws of responsibility ? To answer this question, the thesis suggests abandoning the traditional approach of the subject, which consists in treating it as a mere category of classification of the different branches, civil and criminal, of responsibility/liability. Legal responsibility is presented as an autonomous and general institution organizing the response from the system to abnormal disturbance of social equilibrium. Civil liability law and criminal law are, as far as they are concerned, henceforth conceived as the mere technical applications of this institution in positive law.On the basis of this new approach and through the prism of the study of liability conditions in private law, the thesis proposes a technical and rational organization of criminal law and civil liability that may provide the guiding principles of a real general theory of legal responsibility. As a general institution, it gives not only a concept of responsibility, requiring degradation of a legally protected interest, abnormality and legal causation, and establishing the convergence of criminal law and civil law, but also a system of responsibility, determining the divergences of them and steering the first towards the protection of general interest and the second towards the protection of victims

Full textBloch and Beilinson conjectured many relations regarding the regulator of a modular curve. This function from the algebraic K-theory of the modular curve is supposed to be related to special values of L functions. Let N be a positive integer et consider the congruence subgroup $\Gamma_0(N)$. This thesis relates explicitly the regulator of the modular curve $X_0(N)$ applied to some newform with a special value of the newform's L function.

Full textThis thesis presents several properties and applications of four families of Weyl group orbit functions called $C$-, $S$-, $S^s$- and $S^l$-functions. These functions may be viewed as generalizations of the well-known Chebyshev polynomials. They are related to orthogonal polynomials associated with simple Lie algebras, e.g. the multivariate Jacobi and Macdonald polynomials. They have numerous remarkable properties such as continuous and discrete orthogonality. In particular, it is shown that the $S^s$- and $S^l$-functions characterized by certain parameters are mutually orthogonal with respect to a discrete measure. Their discrete orthogonality allows to deduce two types of Fourier-like discrete transforms for each simple Lie algebra with two different lengths of roots. Similarly to the Chebyshev polynomials, these four families of functions have applications in numerical integration. We obtain in this thesis various cubature formulas, for functions of several variables, arising from $C$-, $S^s$- and $S^l$-functions. We also provide a~complete description of discrete multivariate cosine transforms of types V--VIII involving the Weyl group orbit functions arising from simple Lie algebras $C_n$ and $B_n$, called antisymmetric and symmetric cosine functions. Furthermore, we study four families of multivariate Chebyshev-like orthogonal polynomials introduced via (anti)symmetric cosine functions.

Full textWe consider diffusion processes, defined by stochastic differential equa- tions, and then we focus on first passage problems for Markov chains in dis- crete time that correspond to these diffusion processes. As it is known in the literature, these Markov chains converge in distribution to the solution of the stochastic differential equations considered. Our contribution is to obtain ex- plicit formulas for the first passage probability and the duration of the game for the discrete-time Markov chains. We also show that the results obtained converge in the Euclidean metric to the corresponding quantities for the diffu- sion processes. Finally we study an optimal control problem for Markov chains in discrete time. The objective is to find the value which minimizes the expected value of a certain cost function. Unlike the continuous case, an explicit formula for this optimal value does not exist in the discrete case. Thus we study in this thesis some particular cases for which we found this optimal value.

Full textThe policy on special education in Quebec confirms that the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) remains the essential tool for planning intervention to be carried out with child and youth with learning disabilities. Nonetheless a review of the literature indicates that IEPs are in need of improvement. The Ministry of Education in Quebec (2004) and the Special Education and Rehabilitative Services U.S. Department of Education (in Eichler, 1999) explicitly identify five to six functions. However, none of them define what a function is, what is the role of a function, its relative importance and implication. Furthermore, we find in the reference framework for the establishments of IEPs (MELS, 2004), in the literature review, in practice that there are many more functions an IEP fulfills or should fulfill. This ambiguity revolving around the concept of function leads to a lack of rigor because ``when all the functions are identified it allow for the development of a product that fulfills its purpose`` (Langevin and others, 1998). There are a sum of functions an IEP already fulfills and many more that it should fulfill. Unfortunately, none of these has of yet been emphasized, specified and validated. The goal of this research was to identify the characteristic role of an IEP in regards to the needs of its different users. The specific objectives of this study were: 1) To identify the different IEP users, 2) To identify the different needs of the different IEP users, 3) To identify the different functions of an IEP, 4) To create a functional specification matrix for the conception and evaluation of IEPs, 5) To identify some of the cost related to an IEP. To reach our objectives, we proceeded with the pedagogical value analysis method (PVA). The PVA method included a need analysis of the different IEP users, a literature review analysis, an analysis of legal requirements, an analysis of different IEP models and an ecosystem analysis. As a result we have, identified the different IEP users, identified their different needs, identified the different functions of an IEP, created a functional specification matrix (FSM) for the conception and evaluation of IEPs and identified some cost related to the conception of an IEP. The IEP FSM may be used to create an IEP and evaluate the efficiency of an IEP. Part of the IEP FSM may also have a prescriptive role for the conception of a tool which supports IEP users elaborating IEPs. Finally, The IEP FSM may be used in training and research.
Alipour, Marjan.
