Abstract:
Summary: Surveys were performed in which the state veterinarian and the major state veterinary diagnostic laboratories in every state were asked about selenium (Se) deficiency and toxicosis in livestock and wildlife in their state. Selenium-deficiency diseases were diagnosed in 46 states and were reported to be an important livestock problem in regions of 37 states; deficiencies were diagnosed in wildlife in 10 states. Natural Se toxicosis was a rare problem, with only 7 states reporting naturally developing Se toxicosis. Oversupplementation with Se was reported as a cause of toxicosis in 15 s

Abstract Quercetin is a natural flavonoid with a higher antioxidant capacity and anti-inflammatory. Tall fescue [Schedonorus arundinaceus (Schreb.) Dumort; E+] is perennial cool-season grass for grazing livestock in North America. Fescue infected with the endophyte (Neotyphodium coenophialum) produces chemicals toxic to livestock. However, the impact of quercetin on alleviating fescue toxicosis has received only limited attention. The objective of this experiment was to investigate the mitigation effect of quercetin on fescue toxicosis-induced cardiotoxicity of lambs. A total number of 24 Dorp

Abstract:
This case report documents a clinical case of blue-green algae toxicosis, caused by microcystin toxins, in 5-week-old pigs. Mortality during the investigation was elevated by approximately 7.5% in three affected groups, with a final mortality of 11.4%, and 50% of the population demonstrating clinical signs of various degrees. Affected pigs grew slowly and had distended abdomens. Histological examination of tissue samples revealed hepatic centrilobular necrosis with chronic-active periacinar individual hepatocyte necrosis and regeneration or centrilobular hepatocyte necrosis with hemorrhage. Abstract:
Severe outbreaks of toxicosis caused by the natural endophyte Neotyphodium lolii in perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) have occasionally resulted in heavy loss of livestock in Victoria and Tasmania. Meteorological records were examined from locations where acute toxicosis was recorded. High rainfall (>350 mm) in spring–summer was an obvious common feature; typically, it prolonged the period of high growth rate of pasture, increasing predicted spring–summer (September–March) growth (by ~36%) and increasing the predicted digestibility of organic matter of summer pasture (1 February) by 2.

Abstract:
Clinical toxicosis, used as an indicator of black-fly tolerance, was not as pronounced in Charolais bulls as in Angus or Hereford bulls, whether or not they were treated dermally with 25 mg phosmet/kg body weight. During the first 20 days after exposure to black flies, the combined weight loss of the treated and untreated Charolais bulls was lower than that of their Angus or Hereford counterparts. Up to 33 days PT, the combined gains of the treated bulls of the three breeds were intermittently higher than those of the controls. Key words: Black flies, beef bulls, phosmet, response, toxicosis,

Abstract:
The goat (Capra hircus) is the most important domesticated animal due to its importance in various parts of the world since it produces wool, meat, milk, fertilizer, draught power, and leather. There are numerous ways through which parasitic illnesses restrict goat industry production. Parasites outside the body survive on blood, skin, and hair. These parasites cause sores and skin inflammation, which makes the animal uncomfortable and irritated. Diseases can be spread by parasites from ill to healthy animals. These can reduce milk production and weight gain. Livestock that is infested cannot
