Diabetes mellitus is a complex metabolic disorder that lasts a life time and can damage a person's feet. Poorly controlled diabetes can lead to the chronic complications of macrovascular disease and peripheral neuropathy in the feet. Neglect of feet that have these complications can result in the serious consequences of ulceration, infection, gangrene and amputation. The medical, rehabilitation and direct hospital costs due to diabetes are considered to be high. Current literature documents evidence that a significant number of lower limb amputations caused by diabetes can be prevented.

Abstract:
Foot drop usually happens due to neurological and muscular diseases. It limits individuals’ abilities in ankle and toe represented in dorsiflexion during swing phase, and plantar flexion during heel strike. A non-surgical solution to such weakness is the use of ankle foot orthoses (AFOs) which can assist in such abnormal ambulation. The purpose of this work is to develop a new ankle foot orthosis that helps patients to have more normal ankle joint behavior. The proposed AFO device takes advantage of the superelastic behavior of Ni-rich NiTi alloys. In order to evaluate the performance of the N

It is important in the confirmation of the safety of the nuclear power plant to clarify the response behavior of a vertical cylindrical water storage tank under seismic motion. When a vertical cylindrical tank is shaken by a large earthquake, deformation of side shell due to the elephant foot buckling, the oval vibration etc. may occur. The occurrence of those deformations depends on materials, shapes, stored water level and time history of seismic motion. Then, response behavior was obtained for a condensate storage tank (CST) model under large seismic motion such as standard earthquake Ss mu

1.1 Macroeconomic summary Economic recovery has consistently outperformed the technical staff’s expectations following a steep decline in activity in the second quarter of 2020. At the same time, total and core inflation rates have fallen and remain at low levels, suggesting that a significant element of the reactivation of Colombia’s economy has been related to recovery in potential GDP. This would support the technical staff’s diagnosis of weak aggregate demand and ample excess capacity. The most recently available data on 2020 growth suggests a contraction in economic activity of 6.8%, lowe

The aggregate effects of monetary policy actions and the unwinding of certain shocks that affected prices will contribute towards bringing infation closer to the target in 2024.
