Abstract:
This is a study of performance and control for transatmospheric (TAV) aerospace planes, that use air-breathing propulsion. The study is structured in two parts and considers the heat load near the stagnation point. The first part is analytical and consists of two cases, it seeks closed form solutions for the non-linear feedback controls (aerodynamic and thrust), which are necessary to transfer the (TAV) from one specified state to another specified state, while satisfying pairs of equality constraints (that is, Case I: constant acceleration with constant dynamic pressure and Case II: constant

Abstract:
Sustained released formulation is the most used strategy to control the efficacy and the adverse reactions of an API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) with a narrow therapeutic index. In this work, we used a different way to tailor the solubility and diffusion of a drug. Salification of Theophylline with Squaric Acid was carried out to better control the absorption of Theophylline after administration. Salification proved to be a winning strategy decreasing the dissolution of the APIs up to 54% with respect to Theophylline. Most importantly, this was accomplished in the first 10 min of the di

Background: The relevance of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-G in dimeric form in multiple sclerosis (MS) is still unknown. Objective: To investigate the contribution of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) HLA-G dimers in MS pathogenesis. Methods: CSF amounts of 78-kDa HLA-G dimers were measured by western blot analysis in 80 MS relapsing–remitting MS (RRMS) patients and in 81 inflammatory and 70 non-inflammatory controls. Results: CSF amounts of 78kDa HLA-G dimers were more frequent in RRMS than in inflammatory ( p<0.01) and non-inflammatory controls ( p<0.001) and in magnetic resonance imaging (MR

Abstract ZPI is a recently characterised inhibitory serpin present in plasma. In vitro studies have shown that ZPI inhibits both factor Xa (in the presence of protein Z) and factor XIa. Deficiency of ZPI is predicted to enhance coagulation and may be a risk factor for venous thrombosis. To test this hypothesis we carried out mutation screening within the coding region of the ZPI gene in a cohort of 150 patients with a history of DVT or PE (first event before the age of 60 years) and 150 matched controls. Five PCR products were produced for each subject. Heteroduplex analysis was performed usin

Abstract:
The optimal boundary control problem for (n×n) infinite order distributed parabolic systems with multiple time delays given in the integral form both in the state equations and in the Neumann boundary conditions is considered. Constraints on controls are imposed. Necessary and suffacient optimality conditions for the Neumann problem with the quadratic performance functional are derived.
