Abstract:
Currently transformation of criminalistics subject is determined due to reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor's office, courts and other bodies of criminal justice authorities of Ukraine, change of status, powers of operational units, bodies of pre-trial investigation , expert institutions, and their organizational and structural reformations. Concepts regarding the initial stage of development criminalistics subject has been improved. This stage defined the period 1893–1914 years, when the data on the criminalistics subject reflected in writings, mainly Western European criminalists (H. Gross, R. Reiss, A. Nicheforo, etc.). Five stages of development approaches to the criminalistics subject are proposed: first (1893–1914) – physical evidence research, the behavior of criminals and the activities of participants in criminal process; second (1915 – until the 1930s) – technical support for crime investigation; third (1930s to 1967) – disclosure, investigation and prevention of crimes; fourth (1967 to the end of the 20th century) – research on patterns of information emergence about the crime and those based on cognition of these patterns, forensic means and methods of disclosure, investigation and prevention of crimes; fifth (beginning of the 19th century until the present) – criminalistics is defined as a science studying criminal activity patterns, genesis of information about a crime or any phenomenon in society and which is used in a number of types of legal proceedings and related social relations. The author has proved that in such new approach to the definition of criminalistics subject it is necessary to take into account the scope of criminalistic knowledge application, conceptual approaches to crime investigation provided by criminal procedural law, modern legal terminology.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is consideration of the questions of formation of the mechanism of corruption crimes and obstruction of investigation thereof. The author examines the elements of the stage-by-stage formation of corruption crimes: initial stage, main stage, and final stage (result of committing an offense).  The subject of crime is defined as a special subject with administrative or other powers in accordance with the law. The author reviews various methods of corruption crimes and the attributes of misfeasance; as well as determines the key distinguishing feature of corruption crimes – use of powers or position by an official, etc. The main conclusion consists in the statement that the problems of obstruction of investigation are common to investigation of corruption crimes, which is explained by the fact that the detection of this type of offenses ant subsequent investigation pertains to special subjects. This poses a separate, independent task of overcoming obstruction of investigation and application of different methods of overcoming. Analysis of the practice demonstrates that penal sanctions for such crimes are imposed at the lowest possible sanction of the criminal article, and in some cases –  a suspended sentence; there is evidence of not only investigative and judicial errors, but also instances of investigative and judicial arbitrariness. This results in non-application of penalties to the offender, and the worst part – prosecuting the innocent. The examined materials on corruption crimes confirm the fact of obstruction of investigation in virtually every case, which presses the need for the development of forensic doctrine on overcoming obstruction of investigation.

It is a research performed with educators from the first and from the sixth grade of Elementary school from the Public network in São Bernardo do Campo and taking a Master s degree in Education. It was opted to interview six educators, from different teaching areas, turning them into authors of this research. The qualitative methodological approach was used prioritizing the educator narrative. To fulfill this methodology the contributions of Maria Isabel Cunga, Ludke and André; Connelly and Clandini were necessary in order to explain the importance of working with this methodology in the perspective of interpreting and comprehending the building of the teaching identity, mainly, in the line of Educators Formation. The educators formation theme and the identity construction was brought to the light of the studies from Pimenta; Brzezinski; Freire; Vianna; Sung; Nóvoa; Ciampa among others. In the analysis scope, some categories throughout this theme were privileged: reasons that drove to the profession choice; perceptions that the teacher has as subject in the profession; conditions of being a teacher temporarily or being a teacher for life ; building of an identity: conditions of subjecting himself/herself to self-assure as a professional subject. While dealing with these categories and, throughout the research; the perceptions of the teachers were considered as being valuable elements to identify the construction of the teaching identity. These considerations are based on the methodological theoretic support that has great contributions to the theme. From this, relations between Social Psychology and Sociology that enable to identify in the educators narrative one lack of satisfaction towards the system. Some teachers go from the own feeling while narrating all discomfort that the institutions proportionate them; others emphasize in an objective way their daily life, outlining and explaining differences in the condition of being a teacher temporarily or being a teacher for life .<br>Este estudo teve por objetivo analisar como o ser-professor se narra e interpretase como sujeito na profissão, tendo em vista compreender de que maneira esse profissional constrói a identidade pessoal/profissional, sendo capaz de afirmar-se ou negar-se como sujeito dentro do sistema-escola?

Abstract:
The evolution of the conceptual approach to disability, the guidelines developed by international organizations, declined at the european level in terms of rights and social participation of people with disabilities gradually led to the establishment of an inclusive society, with impacts on access to education, vocational training or higher education and professional insertion of young people with disabilities. The subject of this thesis in Education Science is part of a qualitative interpretive and comprehensive survey with phenomenological sensitivity, and focuses on the training path towards the professional insertion of young peoplewith disabilities. It proposes, from their stories, to understand the personal subjective meaning that each one can give to his/her path and his own life, to understand how these young people develop their vocational guidance project, how they can become the authors of their training and of their insertion through the experience of disability, for some of them with physical impairments. The chosen approach was to give priority to the narrative feature with an opening to otherness, a sensitive listening to the fragments of course delivered by these young people, and an analysis in a multi-referentiality bringing intelligibility to this research topic and emerging phenomena. A first analysis-synthesis work for each of the portraits with a reading based on key notions such as subject-actor, psychological empowerment, events, bifurcations and biographical transitions, gives prospects of generalization in the form of pathways typologies

Abstract:
This essay investigates Jamaica Kincaid´s the book Annie John (1985) and its protagonist Annie John´s search for a coherent self-and/or a de-colonized identity through a subject transformation. Using postcolonial feminism, including theorists such as Homi K. Bhabha and Stuart Hall, I suggest that the protagonist Annie John does not perform a subject transformation as she is unable to embrace the state of hybridity needed to perform such a transformation. Annie John is a colonial subject drawn to the two worlds in which she resided, the East and West- and cannot create herself in the presence of them both. I conclude that Annie John´s mother, under the influence of colonialism and patriarchy, is part reason as to why Annie John is unable to perform this transformation. With the help of postcolonial feminism, I find that as Annie John cannot recover her mother from this double oppression of colonialism and patriarchy. The conclusion of this essay proposes that the protagonist Annie John does not manage to create a subject formation as she is not able to reside in a state of hybridity between her own culture and that of her colonizer.

Ilustramos a discussão teórica com fragmentos de casos de nossa clínica.<br>Despite the importance of a brother in the constitution of the subject and social bond formation, only around the year 2000 contemporary authors began to show a greater interest in studying fraternal relationships. However, a great number of these studies and research are dedicated towards competition and rivalry rather than good coexistence and solidarity. In our psychoanalytic based theoretical review, we studied classical authors – Freud, Klein and Adler – and proceeded with contemporary scholars, studying the fraternal relationship in its dispute and rivalry aspects, as well as in its solidarity and companionship elements. We focused the formation of the phratry, the position in the phratry, the fraternal bond, the fraternal complex and the social bond. We verified the importance of the phratry in the constitution of the subject and of the social bond. We illustrate the theoretical discussion with fragments of clinical cases.

Kepka, Maciek. "Analysis of formation control schemes for vehicles subject to kinematic constraints." Thesis, University of Ottawa (Canada), 2005. http://hdl.handle.net/10393/26943.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis focuses on control schemes for vehicle platoons. The study uses transfer function and Lyapunov function analysis, as well as computer simulations carried out to evaluate the performance of existing control schemes and to test the new control schemes proposed in this thesis. One of the results is a control algorithm that allows an indefinite number of followers to stay in formation behind a leader that follows a planar trajectory. In the design of this control scheme, the amount of information used by followers was minimized. Since the focus of the study is on the dynamics of a large formation of vehicles, individual vehicles were modeled in the simplest way possible: as point masses with a controlled acceleration vector applied to the point mass and subject to kinematic constraints. This thesis also presents further development of the string stability approach, extended from 1D (curvilinear) motion to 2D (planar) motion.

Gudyanga, Anna. "Participation of Zimbabwean female students in physics: Subject perception and identity formation." Thesis, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, 2016. http://hdl.handle.net/10948/11542.

Full text
Abstract:
The central focus of this study was to determine the extent to which identity formation influenced Zimbabwean A-level female students’ perceptions of and participation in physics. The themes from the sub-problems included the influence of contextual factors on identity formation in relation to physics as a subject at Advanced Level (A-level), facets of identity formation considered to be of significance by female students in relation to physics, the way in which female students’ perceptions of physics influenced their participation in the subject as well as the factors of identity formation considered as contributing to developing an orientation towards physics by female students. A qualitative approach grounded in an interpretivist paradigm was used. A tri-hybrid theoretical lens comprising of Wenger’s (1998) Social Learning Theory featuring CoP, the Feminist Stand point Theory and Sfard and Prusak’s (2005) notion of ‘telling’ identities or stories, enabled a rich understanding of the influences of identity formation on female students’ perceptions of and participation in physics. The data generating methods used were classroom observation, Draw-A-Scientist Test and semi-structured interviews conducted with nine participants. The data were collated to generate narratives. Key findings: The contextual factors that influenced the identity formation of female students and subsequently their participation in physics at A-level included: Parental and siblings influence; cultural perceptions; impact of the O-level experience; A-level physics teachers’ attitudes; classroom and laboratory experience; male peer influence and other factors such as an understanding of the relevance of physics in daily life. Facets of identity formation considered to be of significance by female students in relation to physics included: being confident, fearless, intelligent, and courageous, liking physics and being determined. These facets motivated them to develop an identity in favour of physics. The female participants studying only mathematics perceived themselves as very intelligent but with a fear of failing physics, lacking confidence and courage. Female students who held negative perceptions towards physics chose to do only mathematics at A-level while those with positive perceptions which influenced the formation of a positive physics identity displayed enthusiasm and commitment to achieve high levels of performance in the subject. Factors of identity formation considered as contributing positively to the development of an orientation towards physics by female students included the importance of v female physics teachers as role models, motivation from O-level science teachers, high self-confidence, high self-esteem, parental support and encouragement, and aspirations towards a physics related career. Gender insensitivity displayed by male teachers, male peer harassment and gender stereotyping are factors in identity formation considered as inhibiting the development of an orientation towards physics by female students. This study provides physics educators, physics planners and the government with detailed information on the role identity formation plays on the participation of Zimbabwean female adolescent students in A-level physics. The findings may be used by heads of schools to sensitise academic staff on the gender dimensions of teaching and learning as well as by counsellors and parents to encourage females to enrol for physics and mathematics as their subjects of choice. This study also contributes to the strengthening of educational research in Zimbabwe, especially research aimed at emancipation of female students in Zimbabwe.

Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter presents the findings of an ongoing digital project of the Helsinki Computational History Group at Helsinki Centre for Digital Humanities (HELDIG) focused on the history of eighteenth-century book publication. The authors have created a historical-biographical database based on The English Short-Title Catalogue (ESTC), a standard source for analytical bibliographic research, and extracted a data-driven canon which considers changes over time, subject-topics, top-works, authors, publishers, publication place, and materiality. This chapter provides both methodological and historical insights into the development of print and demonstrates the huge analytical potential of harmonized metadata catalogs. While quantitative analyses of the book trade were attempted before, they did not engage with the complex process of canon formation at such a large scale. The authors’ work highlights the formative role played by publishers in this process and the epistemological shift started at the end of the seventeenth century, when religious works were increasingly replaced by literary works. As the authors argue, this shift in the production and consumption of print allowed for a reinvention of the canon during the eighteenth century.

Abstract:
AbstractIn kindergarten, outdoor playtime is usually a break from more structured activities. It is leisure time and an opportunity for children to engage in free play with friends. Previous research indicates that time spent outdoors facilitates playful physical activity and that playing in nature inspires children’s creativity, imaginations and play across age and gender. In short, play and social relations are crucial for young children’s development and cultural formation. This study investigated children’s play activities during outdoor playtime in nature and on kindergarten playgrounds. Its empirical materials consisted of video observations of 12 four-year-old’s activities in nature and on a kindergarten playground and interviews with two kindergarten teachers. One child, Benjamin was the primary focus, and five more were also included. Two examples of one child’s social play in nature and on the playground were analysed to illuminate the different conditions and challenges he encountered. The findings indicate that children’s play in nature tends to be more creative and inclusive than that on kindergarten playgrounds, that kindergarten teachers participate more in children’s play in nature than on playgrounds and that children are sensitive to and try to engage in what they view as a correct form of discourse with their teachers. The author argues for further research on the subject to learn more about children’s social relations, creativity and cultural formation during outdoor playtime in nature.

Abstract:
This chapter analyzes the role played by legal journals as ‘tools’ for international law studies in Italy. The author considers their role in the development of this subject in the domestic arena, where there were no specialized legal journals expressly devoted to these topics until 1898. The early journals represented ephemeral experiments, prior to the foundation of the Rivista di diritto internazionale in 1906 under the leadership of Dionisio Anzilotti. The Rivista represented a turning point in this branch of law and was followed by other periodicals established in the 1930s and 40s, which were partly inspired by the political milieu characterizing Fascist Italy, and by those that developed in the aftermath of World War II, which were influenced in turn by the theoretical and methodological premises of the time and by accentuated contrasts between different academic ‘schools’ of thought. Lastly, the author evaluates how the Italian journals of international law dealt with foreign scholars and foreign languages.

Abstract:
This afterword reflects upon how the practice of journal-writing enabled Keith Vaughan to construct and re-construct himself through literary means, providing him with a sense of identification where previously there had been isolation. This afterword considers the diaristic impulse that compels an author-subject to write a journal or diary, before proffering why the journal or diary form is so appropriate as a site for self-construction; chiefly, that it allows the author-subject to establish their own space for identity formation, before they can begin construction with the literary materials and generic conventions available to them. This afterword progresses by considering the implications in the twenty-first century, with an explosion of diaristic behaviours facilitated by the range of available technologies, giving us an improved understanding of selfhood as a network. It closes by asserting that the further study of journal and diary forms is needed in order to develop our understanding of how identity is formed through response.

Abstract:
Central to research in social psychology is the means in which communities form, attract new members, and develop over time. Research has found that the relative anonymity of Internet communication encourages self-expression and facilitates the formation of relationships based on shared values and beliefs. Self-expression in online social networks enables identity experimentation and development. As identities are fluid, situationally contingent, and are the perpetual subject and object of negotiation within the individual, the presented and perceived identity of the individual may not match reality. In this chapter, the authors consider the psychological challenges unique to understanding the dynamics of social identity formation and strategic interaction in online social networks. The psychological development of social identities in online social network interaction is discussed, highlighting how collective identity and self-categorization associates social identity to online group formation. The overall aim of this chapter is to explore how social identity affects the formation and development of online communities, how to analyze the development of these communities, and the implications such social networks have within education.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the current topic of choosing the optimal organizational option of multilateral integration of the scientific and educational sphere, business and the state in the process of globalization of the world economy. The authors justify the format of formation of scientific and educational complex on the basis of network interaction, which allows to obtain the greatest synergistic effect. In order to justify the effective network interaction of the scientific and educational complex, an analysis of existing methods of assessing the efficiency of its functioning was carried out and an author’s system of performance indicators and its assessment was proposed in accordance with the general purpose of the integration mechanism and the specific purpose of each interaction subject. The model contains a system of heterogeneous indicators reflecting the principles of formation of a scientific and educational complex on the basis of network interaction, which allows, along with an evaluation task, to determine, using factor models, further directions of inter-network relations of subjects in order to better understand the current processes and identify problem areas of coordination of their innovative activity.

Abstract:
Chapter one argues that the genre of conduct literature participates in the cultural transition from private vengeance to the monarchy’s centralization of revenge by training young subjects in the principles of civil vengeance. Insofar as behavioral training instantiates a requisite split within the subject, the first chapter reads the self-estrangement demanded by conduct formation as civil vengeance. Because authors of conduct literature, which includes Erasmus, rely on and employ the aversive specter of vulgar laboring classes, it trains aspirational individuals to demonstrate their civility by repudiating incivilities as well as those who have historically displayed them, even if that includes aspirational subjects themselves. Thomas Kyd’s The Spanish Tragedy advances this claim to visualize the cruel promise of social mobility and its reliance on the logic of civil vengeance.

Abstract:
The last two decades have been a time of serious transformation of youth subcultures. Researchers speak about the formation of the postmodernism paradigm of subculture and the virtualisation of sociocultural phenomena. The subcultural subject and the power that formed it continue to exist in the new realities, but are undergoing a transformation. Changes having occured to the public sphere were especially significant for a subcultural entity since it is the public sphere where a subcultural entity can present itself to authorities, thereby maintaining its social subsistence. Our research was aimed at studying how the transformation of the public sphere has affected the entity’s subculture. For the study, the authors employed the method of a qualitative half-structurated interview and draw on the disciplinary authority concept suggested by M. Foucault. The analysis was based on materials of interviewing some representatives of the graffiti subculture in the city of Samara (twenty-two people) from 2016 to 2018. The author has established that the subcultural subject is processual and dependent on the practices in use; a change in practices leads to a change in the subject. Changes of practices in the graffiti subculture were a result of the virtualisation of culture. The author has identified the changes that have taken place in the subcultural subject under the influence of the transformation of the public sphere (the ‘short time’ of instantaneous fame prevails over the ‘long time’ of the symbolic capital of the nickname, new space-time coordinates within which the entity exists, the ‘digital body’ of the subcultural entity becomes ever more informative rather than that which was created via sketches placed in urban space). Unlike the public sphere, the private sphere under the influence of a subculture ideology remains unchanged.

Abstract:
The aim of this work is to study the dynamics of the impact that the students’ leisure activities have on the value system formation of modern students. The object of the empirical analysis is musical and theatrical art as a form of multi-dimensional socio-cultural influences. Noting their interdependence, the authors on a particular empirical material prove the change in the value of leisure in the modernization of higher education in Russia, and establishment of a new function - the formation of common cultural competences and worldview attitudes of the future professionals. Special attention is paid to the role and importance of leisure activities of students for the society, and necessity of researching them for the formation of cultural policy. We show the results of the monitoring studies by the authors identifying the ideas that modern students have about leisure preferences, and refute the myth about the lack of demand for works of world and national classics. An increase of students’ reflection degree on works which address social problems has been revealed in motivation for choosing a cultural work. Student society is increasingly becoming an acting subject in society, and this is reflected in sudents' leisure preferences.

Abstract:
Abstract In response to the UNCCC held in Paris in 2015 the need to reduce the global warming, due to CO2 release in atmosphere, led to a new business for the capture and storage of CO2 in dedicated deep water reservoir. In this sense the transport of the CO2 at low temperature, necessary to condensate the gas, through offshore pipeline is a commercial and technical valid strategy. One of the issues related to the transport of a condensate gas is the thermal exchange between the transport system, in this case offshore pipelines, and the environment. The gas is usually carried by ships in a liquid phase at very low temperatures, for example −30 °C in case of CO2. The fluid is introduced into the pipeline at the same temperature to not further consume energy for warming up. The design of the offshore pipeline subject to these operating conditions, very cold fluid internally and a water temperature slightly over 0°C at external side, can be affected by the ice formation around the pipe. The ice thickness formation is primarily governed by the external convection coefficient. For the offshore pipelines located in deep waters where the sea currents are negligible, only the natural convection phenomena can occur on the external surface of the pipeline. Considering steady state scenario the heat transfer from the internal fluid to the external environmental is governed by the thermal resistance of each component of the system like fluid, steel, anticorrosion coating, thermal insulation if any and external convection due to the seawater. The low temperatures of both seawater and ice formation, approximately at −2°C, allow to be close to the maximum value of the seawater density: usually this occurs at a slightly colder temperatures depending on salinity and water depth (for the fresh water the maximum is at 4°C). The natural convection is driven by the buoyancy effect due to fluid density variation with temperature: the scenario described above lead to minimizes these effects and consequently the heat transfer due to the natural convection (increasing the thermal resistance). Most of the correlations in literature are related to different temperature ranges, far away from this particular situation: a numerical investigation using computational fluid dynamics technique has been performed. The analysis is executed by means of commercial CFD software FLUENT: the model is based on a two dimensional grid of a pipe submerged in water. In this paper: • The state-of-the-art about the natural convection coefficient estimate for submerged cylinders proposed by different authors through Nusselt number assessment; • A description of the proposed numerical approach is given highlighting the different approaches based on the boundary layer behavior; • A typical application is shown.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper presents analysis and preliminary design of the containment scheme for hydrocarbon emission control of tankers during loading and unloading. The economic and environmental impact due to hydrocarbon emission or simply VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emission during loading, unloading and transport of crude oil in tankers (including shuttle tankers) is significant. In an earlier paper by the authors (Husain, et al. 2003) presented at the SNAME/WMTC 2003 describes a closed, negative pressure system to prevent or minimize VOC from tankers during transport. Negative pressure is not used in the VOC containment scheme during loading and unloading – the subject matter of this paper. There are over 200 million barrels per year of oil being loaded at terminal facilities in the USA. Presently, the number of terminal vapor control facilities (nearly 172) is inadequate. This results in ozone formation/smog and financial loss from the evaporation of crude (0.2% loss by weight). Government regulations regarding crude oil emissions are rapidly evolving. Therefore an onboard vapor control system, free of dependency on crowded shore based (or non existent) facility is deemed necessary and appropriate.

Abstract:
The article notes that the formation of the global world is taking place and this world is reflected in science and education, and these spheres vice versa the world formation. It is shown that a global research direction has already been formed, including globalistics, global scientific disciplines, globalization studies, global evolutionism and a number of other scientific research areas. Although this global cluster of scientific knowledge is most intensively developed only since the second half of the last century, its origins are found in the works of Vladimir I. Vernadsky at the beginning of the same century. The global cluster of scientific knowledge is associated with the globalization of education and the formation of global education. The main integrative characteristics and features in the forms and content of these global evolutionary processes in education are identified. The authors use global and systemic approaches, integrative-interdisciplinary research methods, historical and evolutionary approaches, methods of forecasting, as well as a number of general scientific methods. It is shown that integrative tendencies related to the global-evolutionary changes of civilization and its interaction with nature are unfolding in education. The article notes that the globalization of education is mainly focused on formal and organizational ways of integrating various systems and forms of education; the most significant directions of this process are highlighted. Global education is characterized by qualitative and meaningful transformations of the educational process, the subject field of which is “filled” with universal and integrative knowledge obtained in the course of global research. It is assumed that the globalization of science and education begins a new global revolution in the scientific and educational space, and the phenomenon of “globality” appears as global processe and system.

Abstract:
Heat transfer enhancement area attracts the close attention of the researchers and engineers worldwide for the last decades. The most popular techniques nowadays to enhance heat transfer from the surface is to extend it with the fins, studs, etc. or to profile it with the elements of artificial roughness, winglets, dimples, etc. Those types of surface enhancement allow improving the thermal efficiency of the heat transfer equipment with minimal design modification and without significant capital expenses. One of the interesting and promising techniques of the surface profiling is the formation on the surface the arrangement of spherical dimples, which generate intensive vortex structure near the surface, increase flow turbulence and, as a result, enhance heat and mass transfer between a profiled surface and a liquid (or gas) flowing over it [1–3]. In this connection, it is interesting to establish whether surface profiling will also enhance the heat transfer intensity between a liquid film on such a surface and ambient air. Unfortunately, authors were not able to find any publications on this subject in the open domain. At the same time, the investigation of this process could be of great interest for the engineering practice, in particular, for the cooling towers advancement. In the present work, the authors discuss some experimental results obtained for the different profile parameters and flow regimes.

Abstract:
The article examines the problem of the image formation of Ukraine in the international arena in the historical journalism of Timothy Snyder. The subject of the research is the historical context in the journalistic collection «Ukrainian History, Russian Politics, European Future». It identifies the main considerations of the author on the past of Russian-Ukrainian relations and the need to develop historical consciousness in the fight against Russian manipulation. Methodology: the comparative, historical, system analysis and other methods are used in the process of scientific research. The results of the study were obtained by analysing the author’s journalistic works and by considering the main historical themes raised by Timothy Snyder. Main results: The historical context in Timothy Snyder’s journalism is often focused on the Holodomor and the events of World War II. After all, these events are connected with the beginning of the image formation of the Ukrainian people as supporters of Nazism by the Russian authorities and the devaluation of the Ukrainians’ contribution to the establishment of peace during the Second World War. It is determined that the non-reflective attitude to history, the inability to draw parallels between the events of the past and the future leads to an ineffective response to manipulation and propaganda, which can threaten world peace. Conclusions: the realization that Russian aggression against Ukraine has its own history is a necessary aspect in the elucidation of this issue. The Eurasian Union and cooperation with the European far-right are Russian propaganda tools that discredit the Ukrainian state in the world community. Publicist Timothy Snyder points out that Europe’s future interconnects with the past, so he emphasizes the need to study and rethink history, which today has become the object of propaganda and manipulation. Significance: The results of our study will help journalists who study the historical aspect of journalistic materials and research foreign materials on Ukrainian issues. In addition, our research is necessary for Ukraine, because Russia’s aggression continues, as well as the aggressor’s propaganda, which is based on the distortion and falsification of historical events.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the cooperation of S. Efremov with Western Ukrainian periodicals as a page in the history of Ukrainian journalism which covers the relationship of journalists and scientists of Eastern and Western Ukraine at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Research methods (biographical, historical, comparative, axiological, statistical, discursive) develop the comprehensive disclosure of the article. As a result of scientific research, the origins of Ukrainocentrism in the personality of S. Efremov were clarified; his person as a public figure, journalist, publisher, literary critic is multifaceted; taking into account the specifics of the memoir genre and with the involvement of the historical context, the turning points in the destiny of the author of memoirs are interpreted, revealing cooperation with Western Ukrainian magazines and newspapers. The publications ‘Zoria’, ‘Narod’, ‘Pravda’, ‘Bukovyna’, ‘Dzvinok’, are secretly got into sub-Russian Ukraine, became for S. Efremov a spiritual basis in understanding the specifics of the national (Ukrainian) mass media, ideas of education in culture of Ukraine at the end of XIX century, its territorial integrity, and state independence. Memoirs of S. Efremov on cooperation with the iconic Galician journals ‘Notes of the Scientific Society after the name Shevchenko’ and ‘Literary-Scientific Bulletin’, testify to an important stage in the formation of the author’s worldview, the expansion of the genre boundaries of his journalism, active development as a literary critic. S. Yefremov collaborated most fruitfully and for a long time with the Literary-Scientific Bulletin, and he was impressed by the democratic position of this publication. The author’s comments reveal a long-running controversy over the publication of a review of the new edition of Kobzar and thematically related discussions around his other literary criticism, in which the talent of the demanding critic was forged. S. Efremov steadfastly defended the main principles of literary criticism: objectivity and freedom of author’s thought. The names of the allies of the Ukrainian idea L. Skochkovskyi, O. Lototskyi, O. Konyskyi, P. Zhytskyi, M. Hrushevskyi in S. Efremov’s memoirs unfold in multifaceted portrait descriptions and function as historical and cultural facts that document the pages of the author’s biography, record his activities in space and time. The results of the study give grounds to characterize S. Efremov as the first professional Ukrainian-speaking journalist.

Abstract:
One of the leading Western Ukrainian diaspora journals – London «Liberation Way», founded in January 1949, has become the subject of the study for the first time in journalism. Archival documents and materials of the Ukrainian Publishing Union in London and the British National Library (British Library) were also observed. The peculiarities of the magazine’s formation and the specifics of the editorial policy, founders and publishers are clarified. A group of OUN members who survived Hitler’s concentration camps and ended up in Great Britain after the end of World War II initiated the foundation of the magazine. Until April 1951, including issue 42, the Board of Foreign Parts of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists were the publishers of the magazine. From 1951 to the beginning of 2000 it was a socio-political monthly of the Ukrainian Publishing Union. From the mid-60’s of the twentieth century – a socio-political and scientific-literary monthly. In analyzing the programmatic principles of the magazine, the most acute issues of the Ukrainian national liberation movement, which have long separated the forces of Ukrainian emigration and from which the founders and publishers of the magazine from the beginning had clearly defined positions, namely: ideology of Ukrainian nationalism, the idea of unity of Ukraine and Ukrainians, internal inter-party struggle among Ukrainian emigrants have been singled out. The review and systematization of the thematic palette of the magazine’s publications makes it possible to distinguish the following main semantic accents: the formation of the nationalist movement in exile; historical Ukrainian themes; the situation in sub-Soviet Ukraine; the problem of the unity of Ukrainians in the Western diaspora; mission and tasks of Ukrainian emigration in the context of its responsibilities to the Motherland. It also particularizes the peculiarities of the formation of the author’s assets of the magazine and its place in the history of Ukrainian national journalism.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of the digital content of publications of one issue of the daily All-Ukrainian newspaper “Den” (March 13-14, 2020). The author aims to identify the main thematic groups of digital designations, as well as to consider cases of justified and unsuccessful use of digital designations. Applying the content analysis method, the author identifies publications that contain numerical notations, determines the number of such notations and their affiliation with the main subject groups. Finds that the thematic group of digital designations “time” (58.6% of all digital designations) is much more dominant. This indicates that timing is the most important task of a newspaper text. The second largest group of digital designations is “measure” (15.8% of all digital designations). It covers dimensions and proportions, measurements of distance, weight, volume, and more. The third largest group of digital signage is money (8.2% of all digital signage), the fourth is numbering (5.2% of all digital signage), and the fifth is people (4.4% of all digital signage). The author focuses on the fact that the digits of the journalist’s text are both a source of information and a catch for the reader. Vivid indicators give the text a sense of accuracy. When referring digital data to the text, journalists must adhere to certain rules for the writing of ordinal numbers with incremental graduation; submission of dates; pointing to unique integers that are combined (or not combined) with units of physical quantities, monetary units, etc.; writing a numerator at the beginning of a sentence; unified presentation of data. This will greatly facilitate the reader’s perception of the information.

Abstract:
In the practice of a teacher-psychologist at the School of Distance Education, the game “Sign me up as an astronaut”, developed by the author, was tested, aimed at developing the skills of social and psychological interaction in younger adolescents with disabilities through the awareness and strengthening of personal resources by means of game psychocorrection. The specifics of the work of a psychologist at the School of Distance Education are determined by the following circumstances: - students have a severe disability and the corresponding psychophysical characteristics: instability of the emotional-volitional sphere, lack of motivation, severe physical and mental fatigue, low level of social skills, etc. - the use of distance educational technologies in psychocorrectional work; - lack of methodological recommendations for psychocorrectional work in conditions of distance technologies with school-age children. Such recommendations are available mainly for adults, they relate to the educational process, but they do not cover the correctional process. There is enough scientific and methodological literature on psychological and pedagogical correction, which is the basis for ensuring the work of a practicing psychologist, but there are difficulties in transferring these techniques, games, etc. - to the remote mode of correctional and developmental work, especially in the form of group work. During the game, various social and psychological situations are solved, which are selected strictly according to the characteristics of the social experience of the participants.

Khomenko, Tetiana. TIME AND SPACE OF HISTORICAL PARALLELS OF EUGEN SVERSTIUK’S JOURNALISM. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.50.11095.

Full text
Abstract:
The article is dedicated to the investigation of time-space measurements of journalistic works of Eugen Sverstiuk, a well-known Ukrainian journalist. In particular, the time-space continuum of his works is being discussed, which is characterized as comprehensive, continuous, filled with archetypical images which metaphorize the text, but at the same time structure it, and are beaded on the axis of time and documentarily located in the space. The logics of images initiated in the text is exaggerated by constant dwelling of the author in the time-space dimensions of the epoque, of which he was a contemporary, as well as precise knowledge of World and Ukrainian history and culture. Historical parallelism of journalism of E. Sverstiuk possesses double potential. On the one hand, the author provides arguments for confirmation of his own opinion, and on the other, he shows us historical collisions in the new aspect, which helps consider the past, better understand the present, and think of the future. Pages of his works is space for author’s considerations, which logics impresses by free transgression of the author in the time, and his ability to grasp the most essential, although sometimes precedent, sometimes sudden and forgotten, or even unknown historical facts in order to force them to resonate in the new historical realities, first of all to indicate the importance of national and the need for assigning to it more significance. Using retrospectives, E. Sverstiuk encourages us to return to the national sources and to seek in ourselves the reflections of nationality in order to return historical truth to our audience. This is what, according to E. Sverstiuk, was believed to be one of the most necessary conditions of existence to the independent state. Time-space continuum of E. Sverstiuk’s journalism is reproduction of comprehensive history as continuous process of the development of humanity, and of formation of comprehensive, total, and so to say epic reading and understanding of these processes via accentuation of reader’s attention on key events, phenomena, and facts.
