Full textThis research takes place in the French social context of the impressing growth of trainings, built on the pattern of apprenticeship, part time at school and part-time working. Its aim was to analyse the effects of such a training on identity and transition of young people from 18 to 25. More specially, we focused on a comparison of two populations of students of Iut (Institut Universitaire Technologique), in sale, following normal training (mainly at school with 10 weeks at work) or apprenticeship (part time at work and at school). The research has two parts. The first is a summary of several psychosociological theoretical approaches concerning transition from school to work, socialisation and identity of young people as well as representations and attitudes upon work and professional life we choose two ways of collecting data. In a first time, we had a qualitative approach: 50 young students were interviewed. After, nearly 350 students answered to a questionnary. The second part concerns the results of the research. We can see in analysing these results that apprenticeship plays an important role on construction of professional identity of the young people but a lot of other factors must be taken into account to understand the changes of identity during this period of transition from school to work: conceptions of work, vocational choices, ideal self, as well as self esteem and self monitoring. We underlined in conclusion two different ways of building professional identity. The experimentation pattern is linked to apprenticeship and the identification pattern is linked to traditional training

Full textThis research focuses on the construction and implementation of a serendipian approach to youth unemployment. The aim of this approach is to help them to find and keep a job while addressing this transition in a more serene way. We split our analysis in two parts. The first part of this thesis work focuses on self-perception and self-representation of NEETs - Neither in Employment nor Education and Training. The challenge here is to better understand the NEETs population. This first part consists of two studies: - Study 1 biographical interview (N = 28): the objective of this first study is to better understand the course of NEETs by collecting the successions of events that constitute the path of the person and the way in which she or he experienced it. - Study 2 SR - social representation (N = 137): with an exploratory approach, the objective of this study isto describe the SRs of the NEETs and of a control group made up of people who work, who study or who are in training. The second objective is then to compare these RS. The second part focuses on how to increase the employability of NEETs. Three studies compose this part: - Study 3 semi-directive interview with recruiters (N = 11): the aim here is to see to what extent the pseudo-serendipian skills are used and perceived in the recruiting sphere by the recruiters themselves. We also asked them about their perception of NEETs. - Study 4a and 4b effectiveness and impact of pseudo-serendipity skills training (N = 147): first, we tested the training with students. We offered this training to NEETs. The objective here is to study the impact of pseudo-serendipian skills training on the well-being and employability of these young people

Full textThis research analyze the subject's interstructuration within the soccer training centre institution. The interest is the validation of new scales adapted to the population and the study of the interaction between the institutional framework and the soccer player's self-esteem, stress, coping stategies during his training period. This problematic is dealt in a transversal way involving 190 soccers of 15 to 19 years. In addition, we carried out a longitudinal analysis over the three years of training with 48 of theses training players. Our results show that the institutional decisions are in relation to soccer self-esteem developed by the teenager. Those feelings of personal value are decisive in the evaluation of the stressors, stress and the coping strategies. The improvement of the player's self-esteem brings a less significant perception of the stress and supports the use of the social support and control strategies. On another hand, a degradation of the institutional decisions associated with an increase in the perceived stress leads the teenager to stand back and to seek other activities

Full textWhat skills do professionals use to face verbal communication tasks with others? And what connections are there between knowledge referring to a professionnal fiel and skills to communicate on things and events belongin to this professionnal fiel? The research presented here fits in with professionnal didactic that can be defined as a process of psychological analysis of the work in order to work out plans or situations of training. The research relies on the theory of knowledge sudied by vergnaud and widely resorts to the logical theory of speech acts and the works on verbal interactions. The analysis of the reception clerk's work in garages relies on an empirical material composed of the transcriptions of 353 registered dialogues corresponding to the activities of 19 subjects. The results show that the reception clerk is at the interface between on one hand the customer and on the other hand the workshop. This entitles a double skills, a technical one and a commercial one learnt on the site. There are relations between the skills those technicians of origine have put together to diagnose, repair and the pragmatic skills they have developped to listent, to question, to understand, to explain and to give arguments. Skills are structured round the use of two conceptuel fields, the one of the workshop, formed by human and technical habilities and restraints the reception clerk has and the other of the customer

Full textThis research concerns adults who have integrated into professional life. Those individuals who assert that they have attained the objective of the training project they had planned, are considered to be "achievers". Three approaches are proposed. - first, a psycho-sociological approach whose objective is the verification of hypotheses coming from the synthesis of previous studies. The results of a survey reveal, on the one hand, the factors favorable to successfull realization (masculine sex. High level of education, the existence of networks of mutual assistance in professional, family, and training circles, the acquisition of diplomes, etc. . . ). On the other hand, they make it possible to differentiate the achievers (who benefit from the cumulation of favorable conditions) from the non-achievers. The two other approaches test the hypotheses on aspects of personality in the context of cognitive theories : - an experimental approach proposes the comparison of two groups (achievers non-achievers) : the scores obtained on a battery of personality tests make it possible to differentiate them on the level of self esteem and the degree of interiorization (locus of control), which are higher among the achievers. However, a behavior of type a, as evaluated on the french version of the bortner scale, and work values do not differentiate them. - a clinical approach carried out on the basis of an analysis of biographical data shows the imoortance of the articulation between an attitude of support of the environment and a positive self-concept

Full textOur research aims at explaining the reason for the developing of training in service, in France, in the last decades. We have tried to understand what needs it was answering. This is our problematics: "What latent process does it lay down?". In our study, we selected three instituts which train people in the social field. Sixteen grown-ups were chosen to participate in semi-directiv interviews on their own experiences during their training. We pointedly selected the comparaison between, their experience and that of adolescents being initiated in primitive societies. Our first built hypothesis was that the studied process was of the initiatoey type. Then our second hypothesis, that it was true no matter what the profil of the participant may be. We split up the training activity in three spatio-temporal stages, in reference to the work of Arnold VAN GENNEP on rites: separation, marginalisation and rebirth. We noticed twenty-eight indicator of likelyness. Then, we spotted that in both phenomena, an alliance between social demands and individual yearning, and with a marked masochist and promoting dimension. This parallel allows us to confirm our hypothesis on the initiatory process in staff training. Indeed, the subject inflicts to himself sufferings so as to be better off. This mediatory space of transformation, protection, educational and nutritiv, includes an increased sense of individual and social work in our times

Full textThe research work carried out in the framework of this thesis aims at assessing projects and strategies as explanatory factors in attitudes towards training. The analysis and interpretation of the resultats have allowed us to distinguish differentiated attitudes. Positive attitudes are observed whenever achievement of project requires the acquisition of a skill the candidate did not have. Three variants have been pointed out. In the first one, the individual remains tributary to an offer of training officially presented to him. In the second, the individual initiates a request for training. In the third, the individual requests training and independently understates steps to seek it in the anticipation of achieving his project. An attitude of refusal towards training is encountered whenever it is felt to affect the individual identity. The results obtained allow us assert that the simple existence of project does not in itself automatically engender a positive towards training. The use of that training as part of a strategy and the involvement in it do indeed depend on the nature of the project

Full textThis study aims to analyse influence of social (parental career-related behaviors) and personal (vocational identity, self-esteem) factors on career-decision making difficulties reported by youth engaged in academic and vocational orientation process and to highlight subject's active and subjective part in his relationship with himself, others and world. In quantitative part, 3760 youth (3186 school students; 565 undergraduate students), aged 13 to 25 (M = 16.77; SD = 2.21), participated at longitudinal design featuring threee waves of data collection used. They replied collectively four online questionnaires: Career decision-making Difficulties Questionnaire, Parental Career-related Behavior Questionnaire, Vocational Identity Status Assessment and Échelle multidimensionnelle estime de soi pour adolescents. In qualitative part, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 youth (16 school students; 6 undergraduate students), aged 14 to 24 (M = 14.45; SD = 2.86). Predictors’ analysis of the career-decision making difficulties reported by youth shows that difficulties which intervene before engagement in the decision-making process (lack of preparation) are mainly explained by relational factors at the begining of the year for 12th grade students and to personal factors at the begining and at the end of the year for undergraduate students. Difficulties which intervene throughout decision-making process (lack of informations, inconsistent informations) are especially explained by personal factors like unfavourable vocational self-esteem at the end of the year for 10th grade students and for the undergraduate students, low in-breadth exploration at the end of the year for 12th grade students and for the undergraduate students as well as low commitment at the middle of the year for 10th grade students. CHD’s results show the dynamic of making choices in ligh of explanatory processes included in this study. Results also highlight this dynamic's heterogeneite through every educational and vocational orientation level studied. Based on this results, case studies also attested this diversity. This case studies established new elements like identification of new support sources or new type of difficulties, allowing to explore others research’s path and to confirm results’ complementarity

Full textWhatever the systems be, 14 millions of young people would leave the initial training systems with no perspectives in terms of employment or study. In the 1990's, European Commission made this severe report while both endorsing a traditional welfare state mandate and convening national experts in order to identify the best integration practices. From 1994 to 1999, the European Social Fund policy challenged the member states on the ways they deal with a fundamental dilemma of social organization : how integrating young generations managing at the same time the structural tension that exists between social order and personal freedom ? Analyzing the social uses of this policy implies to deal with several theorical and opertional questions described through four levels of reception. Did national institutions used these funds to reform, to reinforce or to delegate this public mandate ? What kind of expert ressources the actors to whose this mandate to integrate young people is delegated did used during this programming ? What evaluation criteria have been selected ? Can we identify different cultures of this mandate for integration which characterize specific ways of treating the adressed dilemma ? Results show that these cultures are working with different major reasons that influence all the imagined solutions. To integrate someones goes through a professionnal project in France ; the participation to a social network in Italy and the restoration of a positive relationship to oneself and the society in Finland. These cultural comparisons will approach comparative methods in the light of better linking macro phenomenons (policy, institutions) to micro ones (experts, territories)

Full textOver the years, the motivation for continuing education of adults has gained considerable ground among researchers in Education Science. This topic polarizes a sustained interest from a section of the scientific community because it appears that the role of motivation is determinant in the educational endeavours of adults. Nonetheless, despite numerous trainings given in almost all areas of professional activities like in health, no research has been undertaken on this subject in Burkina Faso. Grounded on a methodology based on quantitative and qualitative inputs – one questionnaire and two semi-structured interviews - , this dissertation tries to understand the benefits outcomes for which nurses of the Regional Direction of Health of the Centre engage in professional trainings. The analysis of discourses and the statistical analysis of results based on the motives of engagement elaborated by Philippe Carré (2001), show that nurses are engaged in professional training for the following motives: professional, identity, and vocational. The study also reveals problematic relations deeply linked to each of the three motives: epistemic, economic and professional. Finally, this study underlines the difficulty of most of adults in the formulation of some of their motives of engagement in training, like nurses who tend to hide the economic factor behind their decision to attend training

Full textPrevious studies have highlighted that parents have an important role during the two first steps of the young athletes’ development to the high level (sampling years, specializing years). Their involvement (logistic, informational, emotional, directivity, pressure and autonomy) seems to permit to cope with constraints of resources, motivation and effort suggested by the sportive activity’s deliberate practice. Their support also influences young athletes’ psychological, motivational, affective and behavioral characteristics. But, works in the field of family involvement in sport have mainly been conducted in American, Canadian and English countries, suggesting a lack of measurement tools in France and cultural differences about results. Parents are probably not considered as much in France than in other countries and their involvement is perhaps not perceived as essential. Moreover, relations between performance determinants (motivation, pleasure, effort and commitment) have not been analyzed, and yet less compared according to adolescent’s sex, his level of practice and parents’ sex. So, eight studies soliciting adolescent tennis players and their parents have been put in place in order to answer to these several limits, including qualitative and quantitative approaches. Questionnaires of parental involvement have been constructed and validated. Main conclusions have first highlighted the importance of parents in the tennis player’s social environment. Then, parents have perceived themselves as much implicated in their child’s activity that the level of practice increases, elaborating a familial sportive project. Next, types and degrees of parental support have specific links between them (emotional / autonomy and directivity / pressure / informational). Finally, causal sequences exist. Overall, logistic support influences the perception of the motivational climate which has an effect on motivation, source of affective and behavioral outcomes. These causal sequences vary not only according to the level of determination (links’ strength and totality of mediations) but according to the adolescents’ developmental stage, parental sex and to relational dyads too

It deals with the question what makes the nurse to consider as an object the patient’s body wheras the new pedagogies advocate turning a sick person actor of his own care. The aim of this study is to characterize the intellectual path imposed by this gesture in terms of operational effectiveness and motivation to act. It is about solving the tensions between what the nurses think they have to do – with regards to their prescription and professional recommendations – and what they really can do in situation
